I've had the same problem, however, I have fixed this ironically enough by logging out my account and playing just fine.ZaroktheImmortal wrote...
Still unable to load my games with downloadable content. Bioware needs to fix this problem and soon.

Can someone tell me if this newest patch contains all the previous patches also? And do I instal origins, awakening and then patch the game before I start playing?
Yes it does. If you want to reinstall, first dragon age: origins, then awakening, and last patch 1.04.

So is this patch fail?
Yes and no. Yes in that it fixes a good chunk of what patch 1.03 broke. No in that certain bugs haven't been fixed due to limitations.

Is anybody else having a issue where all the Awakening items have reverted to database item references or something?
Potent Stamina potions are referred to as something like 'grrx-0101-????-????'
Thoughts?
I got this on the only time I have run the game since patching, including party members names being listed as what are presumably internal references. I also lost sound during a cut scene after a zone transition.

I'm sure it is... for some, as anyone can plainly see.NKKKK wrote...

But for others, and I suspect MOST others, it's great. If the glitches and problems were truly widespread, this thread would probably be 3 times as long as it currently is.
But I can really only speak factually for myself. And as far as that goes, I've only experienced improvements in my game since I installed it. I haven't run into any of the issues that people here are reporting.

A quick check under Steam showed that it had decided that Awakening shouldn't be patched automatically for some reason. With that changed it downloaded about 240MB for the expansion and those problems went away.Nameless Two wrote...

Has anyone else noticed combat issues since installing the patch? Like criticals not actually damaging the target, missing melee and ranged attacks much more often, and enemies generally seeming to evade everything at random? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
BTW, I haven't noticed any performance issues with this patch, nor have I with previous patches. I own a retail copy of the game and I run it on max with about 70+fps. I have a reasonably high end gaming computer, able to run pretty much everything, even Crysis on high at about 50fps. I haven't updated my video drivers for about 2-3 months either, and I use Windows XP SP3.
(I haven't followed much of the conversation about performance issues, but I hope this info helps.)

Seriously, Bioware, if you're not going to fix the numerous quest/scripting bugs, then at least release the damn script sources, so that we can fix them ourselves.
Good god, after 4 months of your supposed "hard work", we get only like 6 bug fixes for Awakening? There are DOZENS of bugs in the game.

Quick question to everyone: is it just me, or was dagger dexterity supposed to be fixed in this patch? I noticed it wasn't in the final release notes.Cat Lance wrote...
"Snipp"
I second this! Not many "bug fixes" in it either.

Devs, Silverite Mine item bug and Amaranthine Law and Order quest are still bugged. Why weren't they fixed, and when can we expect them fixed?
Appreciate any answers, thanks.
