Well the Helm of Honleath appears on my Character I'm tryin to import, but not the Warden Commander's Armor. I scrolled down to an earlier save, and Wade's Superior Dragonbone Plate seems to be able to import. Is this issue just with Warden Commander's armor?

Wade's is from the main game, not DLC, so it imports.

Warden Commander's is from Warden's Keep, so no import.

We were told that Return to Ostagar items would import, but the prior DLC items would not.  I've heard of the Helm of Honleath importing before though - this seems to be an exception, and I don't know if it applies to other stone Prisoner items.

So I'm playing on the 360, and the Stealing bug still seems to be an issue. I'm constantly running into the game telling me that I managed to steal from someone, only to not gain any money or items.

Is there a step that I'm missing?

Not likely.  The Patch was aborted and rolled back to 1.03 for the 360 (not sure how long for).  Sorry to be a party pooper but Quality Control seems to be... errr, not getting better round here.

You're welcome. I believe there's still a thread about it in the XBox360 Tech Support forum.

I'm sorry, I didn't have the courage to read every page on this topic, but is it me or does my game feel more bugged than before?

i can't install the 1.04 patch. it says
'an error occured applying the 1.04 update to your version of Dragon Age: Origins [36]'
can anyone tell me the solutions? thx.

I ran into that problem when I reinstalled & didn't clear my directories beforehand.  Here's how you fix it:

1. Back up any saves/MODs you wish to keep to another folder [optional].
2. Uninstall your game.
3. Delete the directory that the game was installed to as well as the BioWare folder in your My Documents folder.
4. Reinstall Origins.
5. Reinstall Awakening if you have it (if not, skip this step)
6. Patch with the latest patch.
7. Restore any saves/MODs that you backed up before uninstalling.

OKAY THANKS FOR SCREWING UP BIG BIOWARE!!!!!!!
I just installed 1.04
then uninstalled and reinstalled the game to get it to register on the game that the patch went thru (i also reinstalled than after i reinstalled the game) and now it wont download my old DLC on top of the DLC I JUST BOUGHT!!!! (the whole reason I updated the patch in the first place) so yea thanks bioware thanks alot

I JUST WANT TO PLAY MY GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.  Make sure that daupdater.exe & daupdatersvc.service.exe is allowed to connect to the internet through your firewall.
2.  Make sure that the daupdatersvc.service.exe has started while playing your game.  If it is not starting, you can start it manually from the Services shortcut in your Administrative Tools.
3.  I've found that the download/installation process of your DLC progresses much faster if you lower the priority of your game so that the updater server can take advantage of more resources.  To do this:
3a.  Press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
3b.  Processes tab.
3c.  Right-click on daorigins.exe > Set Priority > Low.
3d.  Once the download & installation of your DLC is complete, change the priority of daorigins.exe back to Nomal.

Sephiroth1111 wrote...

mildmort 2/3 or my DLC yea i could play with 1.0 but the hole reason i downloaded the patch was because i just bought return to ostigar and it said i need 1.02 and since it wont just let me download that i had to uninstall and reinstall my game then reinstall the patch to get the game to register the patch and now it wont even download the DLC

I personally reverted back to 1.02a when I ran into these kind of problems.  You can get it from here.  Don't expect to be using any DLC that requires 1.03 on this patch, however.

Thx i appreciate the help
if i could ask more of you I would be extreamly greatful
daupdater.exe & daupdatersvc.service.exe
my computer cant find these when i try to add them to the fire wall exceptions
do i have to have the updater running when i add it.

Unfortunately after installing the patch 1.04 I started having a lot of crashes - which I didn't have while I hadn't installed any of the patches.

Setting the affinity to just one core seems to avoid crashes, but causes other problems - lags and stutterings.

Negative.  It may be that they are hidden either because they have the Hidden attribute or they are considered System files.  This can be fixed by:

1.  Start > Control Panel.
2.  Folder Options.
3.  View tab.
4.  Change the radio button to Show hidden files and folders on Hidden files and folders.
5.  Uncheck Hide protected operating system files.
6.  OK changes.

If you don't know where these files are located, they should be located in the bin_ship folder of where you installed the game.

I've been testing the patch since yesterday and it doesn't fix the crash bug! When casting spells with heavy visual effects like death cloud or mana clash, game still crashes every 20 minutes. And the gifts in Awakening are still not fixed - I still always get 5 pts approval per gift

P.S. I've released some Awakening quest bugfixes to Nexus, including the Sigrun quest fix. Check it out:

With the PC version, all items from TSP are imported into DAO Awakening. However, I have read that they aren't with the console versions (it is the reason why some people report that they are imported and some other report that they are not).

Victor Wachter wrote...
(clipped from the weekly patch update thread)
Known Issues

(Awakening) Silverite Mine Issues
Some
players have experienced a situation where it is possible to enter the
Silverite Mine in the Wending Wood early by picking the lock to the door
(despite the lock initially appearing to be impossible to pick) prior
to completing the quest with Velanna.  Due to technical limitations, we
will be unable to patch this issue and as such we wish to communicate to
players to avoid this situation.

Entering the Silverite Mine
early may result in loss of some inventory as well as broken plot flags
due to prior quests not being completed properly. Normally, the door
will unlock after fully resolving the encounter with Velanna and the
player should not attempt to enter the Silverite Mine before then.

Though Victor only covers somehow picking the lock, other players have reported the same problem even when entering the mine at the appropriate time in the quest.  I can't speak for certain since I currently don't own awakening (waiting for 1.04 on the 360 and hoping it works), but I've heard that walking into the mines with everything unequipped prevents the issue from arising.

If you want to read the whole post regarding what was fixed and what wasn't, you can go to the thread where I clipped this info from.  The link is http://social.biowar...49645/1#3149645

Hopefully you have a save file before you entered the mine; reloading and trying again is another "fix" I've heard about, though I'd really only say it's a way of trying again and hoping the bug doesn't arise.  Did you try unequipping all of your gear before entering?  That's how I hear most people are avoiding the bug.

@L0new0lf1971: Although you have a right to be upset, you have to realize that the teams that create the DLCs and the teams that patch the game are separate entities.  They may even be located hundreds of miles away from each other.  Although that definitely makes it hard to do things right, that's just the way business works in the real world.  Also, considering how expansive of a game DA is, expecting it to be issue-free from release is wishful thinking.  I do agree that there are some glaring bugs that should have been encountered in either development or simple testing.  Who knows, maybe they were aware of them and pushed it out anyway, planning on patching it later (you can thank capitalism for that, lots of businesses fall prey to such a mentality); however, maybe they weren't aware.  We'll never know for sure.

What we do know is that some issues haven't been solved yet: not due to ignorance, but for other reasons.  From what we've heard, BW is aware of the problems and is trying to fix them, but simply couldn't include them in the recent patch due to technical, size, and/or other limitations.  There's a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that we aren't made privy to.

I suppose I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for some stuff, but I can put up with a few glitches here and there if it means enjoying a truly great game IMO.  I've already gone through 3 playthroughs in Origins (2 rogues, 1 warrior), I'm in the middle of a third rogue game, and I'll probably roll 1 or 2 mages after that.  And once I'm done with that, I'll probably pick up Awakening and import all of my characters, running through the adventure again several times.  In fact, as flawed as DA is claimed to be by lots of people, I have to say that after playing it, I just might try the ME games.  As a long-time gamer and RPG fan, DA is definitely up there with some of the best games I've played.

Details please . . . I can see you are playing on the PC version of the game.  What character class were you playing?  Was it an Arcane Mage?  Did you try stripping off your equipment PRIOR to entering the Silverite Mines and then recovering your gear at the end of the quest?

any estimated time it will be done?!?

The patch is already done; it's just a question of when PS3 is going to release it for download.  This would really be a question for Sony since they haven't released it yet.  Posted Image

I am starting to hate Sony.....

You an say a again...

In this case, I think Sony taking their time is a good thing; look at what happened to the Xbox 360 Slim users because Microsoft hurried the process along.

i have had less crashing with 1.04 than with 1.03. i just had my first and only ctd since installing 1.04 the night of release. normally i'd have had 4-5 by now.
