Something is wrong with the way shields appear on my character... They're tilted, and so are the swords. This patch didn't fix any of the problems I had before, and it just created new ones. I wish I hadn't installed it.

Never mind, it fixed itself.

Wait wait, hold your griffins... What is this I read about the dex for daggers? I thought this was fixed in 1.02? Whats going on?

It was fixed in the PC version but not for consoles, just like several other items. To date, the console patches have been primarily "activate more pay-to-play content" rather than actual bug fixes, despite what's listed in the patch notes.

So, I'm still having a lot of crashes, and this is not fun anymore.

If I play with my three cores (athlon x3), I get random crashes and sometimes I really can't go on without lowering all my settings hugely (which didn't happen prior to the patch 1.04).

If I set the affinity to only one core, the game doesn't crash but it loses all of its fluidity, and I have lots of slowdowns and lags.

Do you think I should try to roll back to the 1.02 patch (before the 1.04 patch I hadn't installed any patches and hadn't had any problems yet)? If so, do I need to uninstall the game before doing that? And can I install it again easily, considering I bought it online, and downloaded using the ea download manager?

Thanks!

Hmm, I made another fix for Sigrun's Roguish Past & Law and Order. It doesn't require using the console but instead runs via PRC* file: http://social.biowar...m/project/3129/

Hopefully you have a save file before you entered the mine; reloading and trying again is another "fix" I've heard about, though I'd really only say it's a way of trying again and hoping the bug doesn't arise.  Did you try unequipping all of your gear before entering?  That's how I hear most people are avoiding the bug.

I didn't know about the bug ahead of time, and by the time I realized it (right at the end of the Mines, next to the merchant) all my 4 autosaves had already been filled. I only had a save at the very start of the Wending Woods :(

I only found out upon visiting the forums that this bug has existed since the release of Awakening, with no solution thus far.

Thoroughly disappointing..

I read through the last couple of pages, and didn't see anything about my new problem since the PC update was made... I can no longer use my DLC while signed into the Dragon Age servers. When I attempt it, I get an error msg telling me I need to sign into an account with the DLC permissions; I AM signed into that account, I only have one EA account for the PC, and it is the one I've been using since I bought the original Sims game ages ago. When I log out of the DA servers, I am able to load my save games, or start new games WITH my DLC.

If anyone has any ideas that could help, I'd appreciate it.

People earlier have speculated that the DLC authentification problem was due to heavy traffic on the servers when the patch first came out, but that has most likely been lessened since. Other people have claimed that refreshing the "downloadable content page" (sometimes more than once, as a few people stated they did it over 10 times) will eventually work. Still others have said they let their computer sit connected to the DA servers for an hour or two and eventually it synchronized properly. Early on in this thread something was said about how the patch required you to re-download DLC content (or at least re-download the DRM for it) because of how the patch was designed. That could explain how you can use the DLC 'offline' but not while connected to the servers.

If none of those work for you, then I apologize for not being able to help.

Thanks!  I'll give those things a shot.  If downloading, refreshing, or just sitting doesn't help, then I'll submit an issue through support.

I appreciate your reply.

-=Edit=-
I started with the one that seemed the easiest, I went to the DLC page.  At first it had half a dozen or so of my DLC marked as unauthorized.  My phone rang, so I left things sit for the few minutes I was on.  When I came back nothing said unauthorized anymore, and my save game loaded right on up.

Thank you so very much!  EA's answer was to uninstall and lose all my progress.  I would have continued to play offline first.

Sorry for my bad English but I have a question: how can I submit to Bioware a bug that I've found?

I tried downloading the patch, but apparently it's not compatible with the Steam version of DAO and DAA? Is this correct or did my computer just go wonky? And if it is, when will a Steam-compatible version be released?

Steam should auto-download the update for you; I've heard it's a hefty one, though.

ok so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and patch

let everything related to bioware, EA, and DA:O thru my firewall

let the game sit and even tried contacting EA themselves and my

DLC still says that I don't have the proper version (it's shown in red)

I'm running out of ideas and paticients if anyone can shed some light on this

I'd be extreamly greatful

until then its Oblivion and the last remnant for me

Ok, so I see that you've tried letting it sit on the DLC page for a while, and tried opening your firewall to the related files, with no luck.  You've also uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and re-applied the patch.  I'm not sure if you count this as part of the uninstall-reinstall process, but have you tried deleting and re-downloading the DLC files?  I know this has worked for me on the 360 in the past, but I've never had experience with PC gaming and DLC at the same time.

But if deleting the files and then re-downloading them doesn't work, then idk what to tell you.

That's what I thought, but currently there are no downloads in progress and I'm still getting that Log-In bug related to different DLC.
That WAS one of the things the patch was supposed to fix, no?

Probably the wrong place to post this, but does anyone know of or have a similar problem, I can't log into my game, it will let me type my password but not let me click ' log in ' . it states ' you are not connected to the internet ' when clearly I am...

Any help is much appreciated.

Thankyou.

Redcity.

I'd say you should either post in the tech support forum about it, or PM a BioWare member. Perhaps somewhere in one of the rules threads they cover what to do about bug reporting, but I can't remember.

After installing 1.04 you can no longer assign the Stealing skill in tactics. This could be done in 1.02a under certain circumstances and worked flawlessly if the character in question had Master Stealing. This change was NOT mentioned in the 1.04 release notes. I would like to know why this was changed and what other undocumented changes are present in the 1.04 patch.

I rarely choose to use mods, and whenever I find one that functions differently from how the author describes it (i.e. it has undocumented functionality), I discontinue use of that mod. I am starting to feel the same way about the 1.04 patch.

On a side note to Stanley Woo and other Bioware people that chide users in this thread for straying from the topic - what is the use of staying on topic if Bioware doesn't respond to the *issues* raised in this thread? Since you (Bioware) don't respond to any of the questions raised, just make it a true announcement thread and prevent users from posting. We, the customers, would receive nothing less from you as a result.

thanks I will try that I just have one question.
In what folder would I find the DLC files in.

Since I don't have the game for PC, I wouldn't know where the DLC files are, but you could probably do a search in your computer for words that are a part of the DLC that you own.
