Give this a try. I had to do this to get my Feastday DLC working after the update:Sephiroth1111 wrote...
ok then I let everything related to dragon age and bioware thru the fire wall and when I go to check my DLC it still shows the require game version in red and I just now realized that it isn't showing available downloads for me anymore and I know there are alot that I have available sorry for all the winning I just would like to get this working.

As you are downloading your DLC, make sure you only download/install one at a time. You can speed up the process by changing the priority of daorigins.exe to Low; change it back when you're ready to play.
If that don't work:
1. Backup any screenshots, MODs & saves you wish to save. [optional]
2. Uninstall the game.
3. Delete the folder that the game was installed into.
4. Delete the BioWare folder in your My Documents folder.
5. Reinstall Origins.
6. Reinstall Awakenings if you have it.
7. Repatch.
8. Reallow daorigins.exe, DAOriginsLauncher-MCE, daupdater.exe & daupdatersvc.service.exe through your firewall.
Another thought might be that you might have a hardware firewall that is blocking the port used for DA to access the internet. I unfortunately don't know what those ports are at this time, but perhaps BW can fill us in on that information.
Try this:Serra wrote...
That's what I thought, but currently there are no downloads in progress and I'm still getting that Log-In bug related to different DLC.ladydesire wrote...
Steam should auto-download the update for you; I've heard it's a hefty one, though.Serra wrote...
I tried downloading the patch, but apparently it's not compatible with the Steam version of DAO and DAA? Is this correct or did my computer just go wonky? And if it is, when will a Steam-compatible version be released?
That WAS one of the things the patch was supposed to fix, no?
1. Right-click on the game in Steam > Properties.
2. Local Files tab.
3. Click on the Verify Integrity of Game Cache... button.
If that don't work, use the Delete Local Game Content... button & redownload the game. Make sure you back up any screenshots, MODs or saves that you wish to save before deleting.
Link I gave above will cover that.balmung03 wrote...
Since I don't have the game for PC, I wouldn't know where the DLC files are, but you could probably do a search in your computer for words that are a part of the DLC that you own.
Are you using any MODs other than DLC? Might be an incompatability issue between the new patch & those MODs.TimeTraveler wrote...
after installing patch 1.04, my keyboard stopped working. Can't play the game without a keyboard. Can't undo the patch. Looks like re-installing DAO, DAOA, and my downloads is the only option. Am I the only one with this problem? And yes, my keyboard does work once I've exited the game.

Also, what kind of keyboard do you have? It might be possible that some software that came with it is conflicting with the new patch.

Anyhow, I'm not sure that Bioware is really ready to release DA 2. Feburary is an early release, I rather them work out most of the bugs than to ship it bug infested as Dragon Origin was. Well back to Starcraft II...

Well, I guess I saved $$ in not purchasing any DLCs or Awakening.
Thanks.

It just occurred to me that maybe they did all their testing on a minimum config PC and assumed that anything more powerful would be able to handle it. I guess all that new fan-dangled hardware and OS is not so backward compatible after all.

This game is too difficult. I'm giving up on it. Bad decision I can't change the difficulty level while playing. An RPG of this kind should really have some difficulty balancing. 24 hours of playing and now I can't go on. Too difficult.
At least try to make sure you're right before you post crap. The difficulty can be changed at any time by opening the options menu.
Dragon Age is not a particularly hard game even on Nightmare - all it requires is some common sense.

My Stone Prisioner download content also shows the required version as 1.0 but I have the latest 1.04 patch installed and my Stone Prisioner DLC is installed fine.
I dont know what is causing your problem I'm afraid.

I've been doing that forever, actually. I was just holding off on buying the DLCs or ex-packs hoping patches would fix my problem. It's probably my PC config since there are others with similar configs with no problems. However, countless hours on these boards trying things and chatting with Atari "support" have worn me out.
Peace.

i have noticed with this patch even now that authorizing dlc takes a little longer. my pc is online 24/7. it's basically my network's hub, so i like it always on. :-) anyway, i play da while online, obviously, and it takes about 20 seconds to authorize all my dlc. make sure to give it time to authorize each time you play while online. it seems like after the first time you still need to give it some time to authorize. a small inconvenience, but my crashing is way down, so i'll deal.Redwnf wrote...
Thanks! I'll give those things a shot. If downloading, refreshing, or just sitting doesn't help, then I'll submit an issue through support.balmung03 wrote...
People earlier have speculated that the DLC authentification problem was due to heavy traffic on the servers when the patch first came out, but that has most likely been lessened since. Other people have claimed that refreshing the "downloadable content page" (sometimes more than once, as a few people stated they did it over 10 times) will eventually work. Still others have said they let their computer sit connected to the DA servers for an hour or two and eventually it synchronized properly. Early on in this thread something was said about how the patch required you to re-download DLC content (or at least re-download the DRM for it) because of how the patch was designed. That could explain how you can use the DLC 'offline' but not while connected to the servers.
If none of those work for you, then I apologize for not being able to help.
I appreciate your reply.
-=Edit=-
I started with the one that seemed the easiest, I went to the DLC page. At first it had half a dozen or so of my DLC marked as unauthorized. My phone rang, so I left things sit for the few minutes I was on. When I came back nothing said unauthorized anymore, and my save game loaded right on up.
Thank you so very much! EA's answer was to uninstall and lose all my progress. I would have continued to play offline first.

It did the same thing with me, but I was still able to download/install it. Have you tried installing it? Do you get an error message when you try to start a game with it (after installing it)?Sephiroth1111 wrote...

Which makes me think the crashing may be OS-related. I also have XP, as well as my friends that got me the game. Would the people that are crashing (as well as people that are not crashing) start stating their version of Windows?Zy-El wrote...
Patch 1.04 runs fine on my 4-year-old XP PC with a minimum config video card. The game used to crash once every 2 days; now it hasn't crashed since I've installed the patch.
Don't believe it's possible to stick to 1.02a when you have Awakening installed; Awakening is bundled with patch 1.03.bzombo wrote...

Heh I have a 4 year old XP PC as well...Nvidia Ge Force 7600 GT card, and for the most part DA:O and DA:A plus dlcs work fine. This is prior to 1.04 and after 1.03. "Some" of the slow loading was fixed in 1.03 ..( I have an AMD machine) but there were still issues. I haven't been back to play in a good couple weeks, mostly because..well I've lost interest.
Interesting what you say however, re new high end hardware and OS, its something I have always had a hunch about, hehe therefore I don't go out of my way buying screaming edge technology..to play games. Middle of the road has always filled the bill for me, and my wallet.

I ran into a similar issue when I started playing DA. All I needed to do was make sure that daupdater.exe could access the internet.
Here's what I would suggest:
1. Backup any screenshots, MODs & saves you wish to save. [optional]
2. Uninstall the game.
3. Delete the folder that the game was installed into.
4. Delete the BioWare folder in your My Documents folder.
5. Delete the /Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/BioWare folder.
6. Reinstall Origins.
7. Reinstall Awakenings if you have it.
8. Repatch.
9. Reallow daorigins.exe, DAOriginsLauncher-MCE, daupdater.exe & daupdatersvc.service.exe through your firewall.
10. Start the game & change the priority of daorigins.exe to Low in your Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del).
11. Log into your account in game.
12. Wait for your account information to update on the Downloadable Content screen.
13. Download one DLC at a time, waiting for it to finish installing before starting another one. Repeat as many times as needed.
Make sure to change the priority back to Normal before playing.
If you are not able to download with these steps, then I'm tempted to believe there's something else blocking communications than your software firewall; possibly a hardware firewall. Check your router to see if a hardware firewall is enabled. You wouldn't be on a college dorm, would you? College dorms are known to block ports used for gaming & they may have blocked the ports needed to download your DLC.
