Not only this, I have bought a collector edition and all the DLC released until now. Now, after 30 hours of play, the piece of my dragon armour has disappeared from my inventory and there is no way to bring it back. Plus, many DLC don't show up in the map anymore. At this point, the only solution seems to start the game from the beginning (and this the second time I have started it).
Get rid of this protection system. It doesn't work well, it causes problems to legit users while pirates are playing the game without being bored. This game is a disaster.
By the way, I lost my dragon armour using the 1.4 patch (after my router lost connection), so these problems are still unfixed. Have you ever considered someone may have a connection problem while playing?
I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Dragon Age Origins / Awakening, patch 1.4 (all installed in the correct order, of course), all DLCs installed. Still these disappearing problems?
Also, I think such a big RPG deserves more than 5 slots for savegames...

Regarding the DLC locations disappearing - I've seen this happen before when I removed RTO by mistake and tried reinstalling it. Nothing would get Bann Loren's lands to appear on the map so I reinstalled the game and it worked fine.
One thing I did before installing the 1.04 (it is 1.04 by the way, not 1.4) patch was to make sure my override directories were empty. You might want to do the same when you reinstall (something that is probably in your future).
The mechanics of 1.04 are much better than 1.03 - the game is at least playable now, but the bugs that were present at release and fundamentally *break* the content that was promised as part of the expansion remain present and the content remains broken. If only Bioware would listen.

Origins LI Letters - Where are they? (SPOILERS)
Answer - they are in your journal codex, under "Notes" as soon as you start the game. My Zevran letter is Codex No. 823, bottom of the section. I did not romance Liliana, so have no clue there, but I'm sure it's similar.
Just FYI, the character I imported did not complete Origins all the way to the Landsmeet and I was romancing both Alistair and Zevran with Polygamy loaded. Alistair showed up as King and acted as if we had married, and I got my Zevran letter. Just in case anyone is interested in how that plays out with the patch.
Is getting the LI Letters confined to the PC or are they supposed to appear in any console-version (Prior to latest patch, anyway)? They do not trigger on my console:(, although the endnote of Awakening stated the relationship was still on<_<
I've both PC-version (unpatched as of yet) and PS3

And thanks for the infor on Sigrun. I will give that a go as well. Although I am still concerned about the "loyalty" mission (to borrow the term from ME2). Think I will simply NOT complete the "Law and Order" quest in Amaranthine
Maybe you could give this a try? I'd like to know if it works for more players.
Oooh, thank you hun, this definitely helps. Saves me from jumping through hoops in order to make sure everything triggers as it's supposed to.
Will install it and take it for a spin.
Many thanks and thank you to Kastagir and Bruno for additional suggestions! Aye, a sticky with the working mods that address things that are still outstanding would be fabulous!
EDIT: This mod works like a charm, just tested it on a savegame after I acquired Sigrun and before the final onslaught. Was able to acquire and work through Sigrun's missions without any problems. Thank you Trylane!

Also, when I complete the Orzammar quest, the journal does not update if I do not endorse the candidate whom I have been working for.

After patch 1.04 the game doesn't recognize the DVD anymore and it says I have a "wrong disc". As a consequence, I have used a no-dvd to crack a game I have bought.(EDIT: The game requires the Awakening disc now? ).

5 slots? Huh?
You always needed the Awakenings disk after installing it, whether you play Origins or Awakening. That hasn't changed

I finally (reluctantly) tried patch 1.04 (over 1.03 which I have). I had been doing OK except it crashes very frequently in Denerim with 1.03. Finally, I had to load the patch, as it crashed 4x in a row at the exact same battle in the Elven Alienage - battle against Devera.
So I downloaded the patch 1.04. Had to do the check/uncheck DLC trick to get those to work, and lo and behold - it still crashes at the exact same spot. The only way past this bug is for my warden to stay on the left half of the room and let party members cross the traps to get to the other side.
Damn frustrating.

Yet? You need to read the patch notes - these bugs will never be fixed because Bioware claims that they are not able to fix them.

Not that I expect you to have read all of the pages of posts leading up to this point, but this problem has been noted more than Kanye West calls himself a "voice of a generation." There have been several responses all over this thread that put forth methods of fixing this, and I've yet to hear anyone with that problem respond back that they're still stuck.Malachi1974 wrote...
Well, I installed the patch. Now I can't play when logged in, because it tells me my DLC is unauthorized, even though I purchased it on this account.
Sigh.
One of the more common fixes, to perhaps save you some time, is to just let it sit on the "downloadable content page" for a little while (some people say 10 minutes, some say an hour, so have patience) and it should eventually communicate with the servers and re-authorize the DLC.

What they said was it wouldn't be fixed in 1.04. I may be fixed in a later patch, however.Kastagir wrote...

That question is a little out of place here. Was not really a bug I know of. But with the correct specialisation, sure, a Mage can wear heavy armour.

it doesnt cause any problems though. it fixes more of 1.03's problems but some still remain to be fixed is all.ZaroktheImmortal wrote...
It would be nice if we could get a patch doesn't cause more problems than it solves.

Oh really? Is that why most of my downloadable content says its' "unauthorised" and no matter what I can't fix it. And it tells me I can load any of my saved games because of this.

Some folks are reporting that it basically fixes nothing for them, which is probably annoying to the patch team and QA people.

"The correct specialisation" being just a high enough "Strength" attribute for the armor in question. If ,as a Mage, you select the Arcane Warrior specialization, (after unlocking it and being given the opportunity, of course) all item attribute checks are then re-directed to use your "Magic" level instead.ShinsFortress wrote...

Some particular (unique) items have restrictions of their own to a specific class, or even a specific character, but that's a different issue.

ad for the autourizeation problem, i cant say anything about it because i never had the problem, and i dont see how the patch can cause that problem for only a few computers. it seems more of a autentication problem with the nwtwork then a problem with the game.
