Fight like a spartan, think like a general. Sounds cool while at first i was a little mad about this because i ended up loveing the pause and click type of fighting in origins im am eager and excited to seeing the new one in action, of course im not trying to have to high of expectations but i will be looking forward to this.

But if i could ask of just 1 thing Bioware please let there be a toggle helmet feature in DA2 Posted Image

The fact that it's called "fight like a spartan" instead of Combat Style alone is disturbing. I can only dread that this means God of War hyper super jumping air combo lame ness

I hope it isn't changed too much. I liked it the way it was, but few tweaks wouldn't hurt.

And I like how it's staying the same(ish) for PC, so everyone's happy.

Erm, nothing is actually called "fight like a spartan". It's just a marketing phrase lifted from a longer bulletpoint on the DA2 site. It's also immediately preceded by the phrase "think like a general" and yet nobody seems panicking that the game might turn into Age of Empires.

honestly, if they arent changing the total combat system on the PC (what they wont, thats for sure) they wont make a complete new system on the consoles!

I'm a person who much prefers the birds-eye, strategic style of the PC version, but played through DA:O, sometimes a bit grumpily, with the more limited camera and controls of the XBox edition.

I would rather have seen them find a way to better implement a tactical approach on the XBox, but I suppose there were two possible ways to solve the problem and they chose to go in the opposite direction.

I am too, after I read that "playing Dragon Age on a controller finally feel natual."

That leads me to believe that the core mechanics are still the same, but with controls suited for the 360, instead of emulating the PC version.

I highly doubt they are going to turn it into a hack'n'slash.

It worries me, too.  I'd hate my character to be stuck for the whole game defending a mountain pass against thousands and thousands of Persians.

Yup, sounds right.  This always seemed like the fairly straightforward interpretation to me.

In any case, I thought like a general and fought like a Spartan in the first game.  Don't know about anyone else.

I agree. I think they are mainly going to make changes to the interface, control scheme and to the various attributes of skills, like the cooldown period, leaving the core gameplay the same. That "fight like a Spartan, think like a general" line is purely for marketing purposes in my opinion.

Maybe they plan something along the lines of Spellforce or Kingdom under Fire where you can control your armies along with your party. I'm fine with the helmet as is but vote for stamina potions.

I actually loved the combat system on the console. My only wish is that the devs don't completely butcher it to accommodate for the whiners who got mad just because they couldn't beat DAO on casual.

As the developers have mentioned (I think the only thing they mentioned)  was their intent to make combat feel more responsive. For me, this is a very welcome change.

In slow motion, naked covered in oil, constantly yelling!  THIS IS DRAGON AGE 2~
Then lots of CGI and blood

Then McNulty shows up as a villain.  GOD HELP US:bandit:

I liked the old KOTOR queue. I don't like all the pausing in DAO, get rid of that please. I would like the area effect spells to target the enemy I've selected or at least give that as an option.

I'm actually okay with being naked and slathered in oil.  God knows that's how I spend most days in real life, so I'd be right in the middle of my comfort zone in a video game.

I just can't stand Persians.
