I own the first Mass Effect on Steam, and have for over a year. However, a new issue has just risen with my copy of the game. Any time I attempt to land on Metgos(Hydra system, Argos Rho cluster) for a mission, the game forcefully shuts down, making me reboot the game and try again. I'm not sure what the cause of all this is, since I've done this mission a thousand times before, but I'd rather not have to just skip over this mission.

Recurring errors in the same spot often indicate a corrupt installation, especially when the game is otherwise working fine.



Try verifying your files on Steam: right-click on the game and select "Properties." Select the "Local Files" tab and click the button that says "Verify integrity of game cache..."

I just tried that and it didn't work. Should I try to uninstall and re-install the game?
