As a fan of almost all of Biowares games, especially DA:O, I am like many of you eager for DA2. However, I am concerned with the new direction Bioware is going in with the game thus far. Let me start off by saying that I understand that the game release is months and months away, and things may change between now and then. This is just my opininion on what we know thus far.
The console version of the game will be more fast paced. This is a great concern for me as I absolutely loved the way DA:O functioned. Was it a bit slow and tedious at time? Of course. But it was very strategic and functioned well imo. Secondly, there will be no central plot to the game... No evil to eradicate, no higher purpose to serve. There will just be Hawke's life told out.. This sounds a bit more like Fable than DA, and I for one have a great disdain for the Fable series. Without a main mission, I fear that DA2 will be bland and one dimensional. Saving a city or letting burn may have consequences in the long run in this game, and while that sounds cool, its simply not enough. I want a rich history and a deep central campaign. This game design would be a perfect epilogue for DA:O, for those who want to follow their warden further in his/her life. However, this is the next in the series and it doesn't seem as though it will have enough substance for us hardcore RPG fans.
Other issues such as having a VA for Hawke, being restricted to humans, and the new ME style conversation wheel are a bit different, but not altogether daunting. Please Bioware, the DA series has potential to be the best thing since sliced bread, bu DA2 isnt exciting me like it should. It seems that the great RPG style is giving way to a cause and effect game. While that sounds cool, I, and many others, would rather see the game as a true RPG (we all know they are rare). Sorry for the length guys  Posted Image..

I can safely assure you that the game has a central plot. It may not be about an ancient evil that has awoken, but it is still there.  We have just managed to not completely spoil it so far.

Thank you, but we've already got a thread discussing the direction of DA2. Please take your discussion there. Thank you.

end of line.
