Probably. Hulk springs readily to mind as well. Someone with really good skills with both feet could call themselves...the Wizard! Then we'll need them to cut promos on their opponents before the match: "Watcha gonna do, when the Wizard runs rings round you?"
A library, some trees yet to be pulped to be made into paper, maybe some things that are heavier still if'n you ask me. It seems that Boyce was suggesting that FIFA in principle could prevent Tevez from playing for another club so soon; whether they would is another matter. He is right that Tevez has to be dealt with with added scrutiny from those in FIFA otherwise it sets a dangerous precedent; players already have a lot of power as it is with contracts hardly worth much.

Arsenal 2-1 up against Olympiakos, good start, Chamberlain looks good, like if Walcott was actually skilful. Promising.

A skillful Walcott? Hm...is Walcott without skill? I know he has a ton of pace, just not sure about skill. Though I do remember...Hoddle (?) criticizing him for not having a footballing brain.
EDIT: yeah I know it was about Chamberlain, but the above just sort of struck me is all.

Tevez will probably sue and football will be ruined by it all. The end is nigh!
Walcott strikes me as not having a clue what he is doing unless its instinctual. Anything that involves looking up and making a decision seems to be too much for him. I think he would be decent played through the middle using his pace where he would just have to run and instinctually finish.

Walcott isn't skillLESS, obviously, i mean he's an England regular (well, semi-regular) and Arsenal first-teamer. But his biggest attribute is clearly pace, and his technical ability doesn't come close to rivalling, say Thierry Henry, who had both pace and skill.
now, TH is obviously a legend and something of an unfair comparison, but it does look like Chamberlain has more technical ability than Walcott (from this game and seeing him for the England U21's as well) which makes him quite an exciting prospect.
Though, with the start to the season we've had, i think i can be forgiven if i'm seeing future greatness where it doesn't quite exist! :-p

Fair enough. I think the criticism that Walcott is an instinctive player is likely to be an accurate one (when looking back at last season). When he has time to think on the ball he seems to fluff it, but when he doesn't and just does things they seem to come out better. Shame really.
I think it's just a general reaction, or a feeling of hope, one has towards players of the team you support. The thing that springs to mind is something of the lines of: "my team consists of experienced players; your team has a bunch of has-beens" or "my team has a group of promising prospective talents; your team has a bunch of kids". You get the idea.
Let Tevez try to sue. Hopefully he'll be laughed out of the solicitor's office. Which reminds me, was there any follow up on Sion being booted out of the Europa League? They were making a ton of claims like suing UEFA at the time, but nothing's come to the fore that I remember seeing.
Also...Tevez situation sure has gotten a lot of column inches (I half suspect that Bramble is glad about that).
Also...Norwich away to Old Trafford on Saturday. Joy of joys.

I haven't heard anything about Sion since they were due to travel for their fixture despite being kicked out of the competition. Probably takes a while to get everything in order though.
If Bramble played for a bigger team he would have clawed alot of those column inches back.
Is that the saturday night match? This thread could get nasty afterwards lol.

Quite frankly Sion never had a leg to stand on in their situation, their claims about the Swiss court is laughable as any lawyer would have rejected taking on the case anyway.
That's probably true, or if he was a regular England international.
Oh...and Tevez is currently suspended. Let's see what Man City do next.
Nasty? Here? Never!

Theres always a lawyer looking for publicity like that guy who kept attacking gaming until he got suspended by a judge. I'm sure if they look hard enough they will find someone willing to take it on.
It seems one club have made an offer for Tevez...
http://www.bbc.co.uk...reland-15093522
I can't describe how happy it would make me if Man City sent him there. Limavady is an absolute sh*t hole, I worked there and it was diabolical. Plus their training sessions are open, anyone can turn up and train with them. Theres a few people I've seen around here who claim to play in the Irish league because they turned up to Limavady training. Its not too far from here, injured or not I'd be turning up to training every night to get a free boot or two at Tevez. Although I know it will never happen, damn player power.

So happy to see W.Bremen is second right now.
Arsenal may continue its recent good plays. Hoping for this chamberlain, Ramsey and Walcot to keep up the good work.
@Druss99, sad story! So Andy Gray will be in Fifa12 or not?
Also Man City is ruined in his group at the UEFA Championship and that's good

I think Andy Gray was sacked from FIFA too but I'm not sure. I'm done with EA sports games, NHL12 finished me for good tonight. Great game but as broken as David Bussts leg.

True on the lawyer thing. Also true that no matter what Tevez's antics someone would be willing to take a chance with him. Apparently Real are interested....match made in heaven? *Cough* Interesting offer that Limavady made, would have thought any club would have at least thrown in some more incentive (like a pork pie or something).
I read that one of those EA Sports games won't be getting an update; for some reason I think it might be NHL. Also under the impression that Andy Gray was sacked from FIFA too (for some reason I think it would be a publicity thing as much as anything else considering what happened). Read a review for FIFA 12, but that made no mention of the online mode and its functionality; I take it that that side of the game is still pretty shoddy, Druss? (Given all the server connection problems floating around I'm not entirely sure EA's servers are really up to the job.)

It was a good day for Dutch football yesterday, PSV won at Rapid Boekarest, Twente won against Wisla Krakow (thank god, idiot Maaskant didn't win..) and AZ tied against Metalist Charkiv and meanwhile Sporting Lissabon won against Lazio with thanks to this great goal by a Dutchman and Fullham and Schalke, both with Dutch coaches also won their matches. And our friendly neighbours also had a great day, Anderlecht won by Lokomotiv Moskou, Club Brugge agains Braga and Standaard Luik won agains Kopenhagen.
Even though clubs like PSV and Ajax won't admit it, the Europa League is the niveau Dutch football is on now and beeing able to play there is a goal of a lot of clubs exept Ajax and PSV who still think they can handle themselves in the Champions League and even rely on it in their finances.
And I want to show you all This goal from the Norse competition.

I thought the thrill of going to Limavady would be enough, seeing the odd man with the fingerless gloves and berret who hangs around outside the bus depot and the girl with the big knockers should be on everyones list of things to do before they die.
I dunno about FIFA's online mode, I've heard complaints but never tried it. Its the offline mode thats messed up. NHL's online mode is exploitable and broken, its offline mode is playable but broken. Your keepers stats are measured in wins, save %, goals against average and clean sheets. Its almost impossible to get a clean sheet against the CPU as it scores cheesey goals with either its first shot of the game or in the last minute if your keeping a clean sheet. I've kept two shutouts in almost 200 games, the first didn't count at all in my goalies stats he didn't even get a win. The second not only didn't count but he didn't get the win and it erased the game before where he only let in 1 goal in 38 shots and took his wins total down from 12 to 8.
I was taken off the top line for having poor stats despite having all A+ ratings in every category, scoring 11 goals and 6 assissts in 5 games and leading the league in goals and points last season aswell as leading the play offs last season in points, goals and hits while we won the Stanley Cup. The reason I was knocked down a line? Poor stats... The real reason is because in the last game the CPU refused to put me on the ice I'm not on any of the special teams I only have one line so it only gave me 4 minutes of ice time and then punished me for it despite me scoring a goal and getting all A+'s in those 4 minutes. Whats the point of playing if me or my team gets punished for doing well? My brother has similar problems with Madden 12 and I expect FIFA will be the exact same. EA Sports are a joke, they purposefully release broken games so people will buy next years relieved that their issue is finally fixed. The sad part is that underneath it all NHL12 is still the best sports game I've ever played.
Wouldn't Ajax and PSV have higher wages than the rest of the league so need the extra CL money that you get just for the group stages? I heard its something like £20m-£30m just for playing in the groups. So the Dutch hold the Europa league in high regard?
I saw that goal and they reckon its the longest range header thats ever been scored. Surprised the guy who made the original clearance didn't shoot he seemed to have the time and space. I'd have just went for it.

Things to do...you know...I was reading that in a more...er...literal sense with respect to the girl with big knockers.....
Have to admit it's been a long time since I bothered with sports games on console; the last one I played was PES 5 on the PS2 I think. After the shambles on the current generation of consoles I just gave up. If I do get back into them it's more likely to be Football Manager.
I think Kimosabe once mentioned the Dutch have a stricter approach to finances...hazy memory in action again. Though it also sounds like there's a more realistic expectation as well. There was talk about Man City with Mancini in charge being able to give Barcelona a sterner test than Man Utd with Ferguson in charge, because Mancini is more tactically astute (not that the game against Bayern proved it wrong as such, but it certainly didn't help with that line of thought). But it seems that some over here genuinely believe that Barcelona can be beaten 'like that'.
'Twas a fantastic header indeed.
By the way, anyone read the letters page on F365 with one person suggesting a world title belt for football?

I would...
Just read that world title thing. It would all be well and good until it ends up stuck in the Belgian second division for a year and everyone loses interest. The big teams giving up on it because they can't win it.
Apparently West Ham have had an offer for Tevez turned down. No word on Limavady's offer that I've seen.

Well, another downside would be the writer's last suggestion of every team having held the title would be in the World Club Championship. That part is just unworkable. And someone will have to come up with some storylines for why teams are meeting....wait...I'm getting confused now.....
Just read Warnock's comments on the Tevez situation (F365). Good sensible points I felt.

If its the same comments that I read earlier then I don't understand the headline telling him to let it go it was 5 years ago. He didn't mention the whole relegation thing that I saw.
Edit: Meant to say earlier, Mancini tactically astute? Is this from the same people who think Mourinho is a tactical genius? Parking the bus and defending for your life isn't really a sign of tactical genius.

I suppose that's better than having a very old lady entering a swimsuit contest exposing herself to the judge and winning....er...hang on a moment.....
I would also imagine the title would only stay with a few clubs as well....
Beyond the 'sensationalist' headline of getting Tevez out of the country (and I don't think Warnock will ever accept Sheffield Utd's relegation back then), he seemed to be saying something similar to a few points Boyce was making; that FIFA should perhaps find a way to deal with such cases as what is in place is inadequate, that it seems that players hold all the cards, and while letting him rot in the reserves is actually infeasible it does sound good. Very sensible despite my own expectations of Warnock.
Interesting to see Scholes add an opinion into the Tevez debate as well. I know he reckons what he did was as bad (or worse) than what Tevez do, but I think I disagree with Scholes' assessment. Scholes wasn't sitting on the substitutes' bench when he refused to play; he refused to go. If Tevez had refused to travel then we might look at the situation differently.
Still to bother with this gen's sports games. Might try a demo of how the new games go, but the last ones just felt all wrong. I fear the games have left me behind.
Crunch time for Norwich tomorrow as we go to Old Trafford to be trounced (worst case scenario but hopefully not Arsenal-trounced), lose by a couple of goals (not too shabby and certainly not shameful), draw (my ideal scenario), or win (yeah, and I might win the lottery...should buy a ticket just in case).

FIFA could also give one team thats married to its daughter huge pushes despite being kind of talentless and unappealing on their own and requiring association with more prestigious clubs in order to make any sort of impact and is still stuck in this cycle over a decade into its career...ahem... It could also bring in guest hosts for the matches which would be an awful idea....
Thats a very different headline from the one they had this morning... I agree on Scholes though. People are comparing it to Modric refusing to play but again Modric said before the game he didn't feel right and didn't think he could do the job. Tevez actually turned up and sat on the bench giving the impression he would play. He denied Mancini another substitute. Was Balotelli left out for him?
I won't be playing any team in FIFA. Not only is the NHL disaster put me completely off EA sports its turning me off gaming. Too often games get released buggy and broken, £40 is alot of money for something that theres only I'd say a 50/50 chance these days that it will work properly.
United are actually a 3pm Saturday kick-off. Will have to resort to the radio. We have gotten lucky a few times this season winning without playing well hopefully tomorrow is one of our better performances. Rooney, Evans and Hernandez are back which is good.

Norwich have actually been fantastic this season, i think Lambert looks to be a fantastic manager. (And, as a scotsman, i have no doubt he'll soon be compared to Ferguson! ha ha! ) I'm fully expecting Norwich to stay up this year, partly because of Lambert, partly because some of the teams that managed to scrape survival last year are just terrible this time around (Wigan, Blackburn, i'm looking at you)
I'm bored of Tevez now - i wish i had the chance to say 'sure, you're paying me £200,000 a week to play for 90mins, but this week? i don't even feel like doing 20 minutes of my job, sorry." What a douche.
Arsenal - Spurs on Sunday. Not particularly looking forward to it... losing would be bad. Very bad.

I can see Arsenal winning on Sunday. I dunno why, I'm odd like that. It strikes me as a game they will be up for and if they click its certainly winnable. I'm tempted to go for a fiver on Van Persie to score twice. If he stays fit.
Merseyside derby tomorrow morning too. Its usually....interesting..

Don't know about guest hosts, but perhaps they can add in heel commentators....
Missed the morning one with Warnock then; I take it it had more vitriol in it (what I would have expected)? The timing is different for Scholes and Modric; Scholes withdrawing himself before the match even took place at least lets Ferguson to do something, and Modric (whether or not it was genuine) stated he didn't feel right and that Redknapp forced him to play wasn't exactly good management (though gave him an excuse for losing at the time). Actually, since Modric did play even when 'his head wasn't right' is a good example of professionalism, sure, he didn't play as well as he could have, but he didn't throw a strop; if Tevez didn't know what professionalism is then it might be worth casting an eye towards Modric as a recent example. Oh...and Tevez not going to apologize really doesn't seem to be helping his case.
You know, 'tis a serious discussion concerning Tevez. I miss the days of just laughing at the fool....
Being the skinflint I am, I wait for the prices of games to drop before buying them.
While you resort to the radio, Druss, I'll be resorting to the pub reaction as I walk by. Blimey, when we beat Bolton the other week the noise was tremendous. "Ah...we won then" I thought to meself.
Norwich have done pretty well and so far have given a good account of themselves I think. I just hope we don't lose momentum like Hull did (even though they did avoid relegation that year) or Blackpool last season. If, and it's a big if, we can keep giving a good account of ourselves consistently then we have a decent chance of staying up. Come to think of it, even though no players got red carded against Sunderland we still ended up with 10 men on the pitch; must be one of those things....
Oh, as for the availability of Rooney, Evans and Hernandez... I would agree that it is a good thing...for you. Not sure about us though.... Oh well, time to see what Lambert can get the players to do against the league leaders.
North London derby. That should be a humdinger of a match as derbies should be. I would like to think that Arsenal have somewhat stabilized now, though I'm sure Tottenham will like to think they're playing an Arsenal side who are still down on the ground and looking to giving them a kick while they're there.
Ooo...forgot about the Merseyside derby. Just as well I refreshed before posting. (Just how long was I typing for crying out loud?) Mind you, it feels like forever that Everton beat Liverpool. Either that or me hazy memory at work again...
