Hhhmmm that is indeed slightly different from the SSN version I saw. Although they didn't actually show the alledged difference in the questions just like this one. The answers were more or less the same along with a bit claiming Mancini doesn't support him.

Ha who is going to want Tevez anywhere? £200k a week and he may or may not decide to play.

Speaking of laughs the NI match was another barrel of laughs. A penalty for a foul outside the box then stopping for an offside when the guy was never actually offside allowing the other team to score. Theres outrage about the ref refusing to award the offside because the linesman raised his flag but the guy wasn't offside and its not the refs fault the linesman raised his flag. Theres always an excuse.

I didn't watch the N.I match but read about it. It can't have been THAT bad can it?

England were sad as usual though today. Rooney managing to be a turd once again and by god I swear Walcott is the worst winger to ever wear the shirt. I've never seen anyone less aware on a football pitch.

Personally I'm not a fan of international games though. They have a tendency to fail to deliver.

North West derby as soon as the international break is over though. That ought to be a good game, although considering Johny Evans is a bit on the retarded side I'm somewhat worried. Apparently Vidic should be back which is always good news for united. Lord knows he's been missed.
Liverpool are looking half decent this year though although I think Andy Carroll won't turn out to be worth the money spent for a few years yet. But lucky for him he's got plenty of time to improve.

Slightly different, huh. I wasn't expecting that. Though I don't think it changes much. And the Mancini bashing by Joorabchian is there I think.

How about Man City send Tevez to....QPR? *Cough*

Sounds like the refereeing was poor for the Northern Ireland game. Linesman flagging for offside and ref saying play on. Er....right; that makes a ton of sense.

The problem with international games, at least for a team like England, is that we might be expecting too much. The manager should be picking the best players at his disposal (and 'best' can be construed in different ways) which should mean a stonkingly good team. However, it's been a long time that the best players have been able to play as a team who have....shock, horror....teamwork.

Liverpool-Man Utd should be a good match. I'm pretty sure that Liverpool's apparent cry of 'this is our year' has subsided. Andy Carroll is still a baffling acquisition. They spent a lot of money on him, and yet no fan seems to really kick up a fuss about it. Goodness knows if it had been Hodgson he would have gotten a lot of stick for it; but since it was Dalglish....well....that's that then.

To put a dampener on Liverpool's possible rosy future though, they may have Carroll as being vastly improved in a few years time; but Man Utd have a lot of youngsters all potentially becoming really good as well. Matching personnel for personnel I think Liverpool are severely disadvantaged. Then there's the perpetual youth of Arsenal to factor in; whether they can keep their players is another thing though.

Even Evans has admitted he needs to improve. He had a season to forget last year I think; he can play, and has played, a lot better.

Ooo....my Norwich have Swansea. Should be a winnable game, and I hope we do.

It was Tevez himself who said Mancini didn't support him. Right at the end of the bit where he went on about his family I think.

How about sending Tevez back to the jungles of Brazil where his plane crashed?

Yeah the NI game was that bad, it always is. An absolutely dire team, its a tiny nation but still they could have even played me and it wouldn't have made them look any worse. Atleast I'd have actually had a shot every once in a while or every time I got the ball....The whole reffing thing, the foul for the penalty started outside the area and he seemed to fall into the area, it was a difficult one for the ref no doubt. Then there was a possible offside, the linesman raising his flag saying the guy was offside so the NI players stopped playing, but the ref over ruled the linesman waving his flag down. Which looking at the replays was the correct decision, didn't stop the b*tching though. The guy was level with the last defender, hell of a spot by the ref.

Haven't seen any of the England game, just heard about Rooney's apparent stupidity. Theres the excuse already for not winning the Euro's the media have their villain. Failing that they can blame a ref or Capello anyway. Looks to be a good summer for them.

Evans has improved from the end of last season, his form for the most part this season has been pretty good and he has mostly been our best defender. Evra, Valencia and Jones haven't exactly been rock solid around him and the defence has been a bit exposed by the midfield. I don't think its fair to blame Evans especially considering our defence has been at its worst when Jones and Ferdinand played together. Saying that though Evans didn't exactly shore the defence up when he came back against Norwich. Evans is still only young too, what age is he 23? Young for a centre back.

When did you become so camp OBaka? Ooo my Norwich? lol.

Kinda dreading the Liverpool - United game with the way our defence has been playing and with the way refs have been giving Liverpool the respect they think they deserve. Hopefully its not a repeat of last year.

If Hodgson had signed Carroll he would have been Lynched. They would have marched against him, Adam, Henderson, Downing and that leftback who's name escapes me would also all have been considered not good enough simply because they weren't signed by Dalglish.

Poor diddums needs his hand held probably. Really not sure what he expects from his manager or even the board. He hasn't complained about a board member during this saga has he?

He might be reunited with his mum later if that's the case....

Internationals put me off the game somewhat, which led to my result watching more than anything else. The action is really in the leagues rather than the internationals. I remember sitting there (yes, over there) watching an England match thinking 'well that was a waste of time'. Not good. Now I'll just skip the blooming thing or watch half the match.

Camp? Hm...no idea....*Stares upwards*

I get the feeling that there will be 'an incident' during that match. It certainly won't be dull.

The fans just didn't accept Hodgson. Mind you, it does seem that certain managers do better at certain clubs. I see that Mark Hughes is suggesting he'd like to be at the helm of Chelsea (I think it was). Will Chelsea ever have a steady manager, or can we expect the managerial merry-go-round to continue for a while as yet?

Seeing F365 using "Venky's: Kean Is 'Brilliant', Europe Is 'Realistic'" as the link to the actual article got me thinking (be afraid). Venky's releases a statement stating that Kean's mastery of butchery is brilliant; his knowledge will help to drive the business forward in just the way they expected when they appointed him; and his seminars that he gives in India during these routine trips have helped them to sew up the poultry market there. So good is Venky's business due to Kean's excellect butchery skills that it is a realistic expectation for Venky's to expand their poultry business into Europe very soon. They expect Kean to lead this expansion project which they expect will be fulfilled sooner rather than later.

I think the board member will be next depending on how this all turns out. Whats the odds on him coming back from Argentina?

Internationals are a pain. I personally don't know anyone who wants to see them at this stage of the season or any stage of the season. The matches are usually terrible and the football headlines monotonous for days afterwards. The only time I like watching internationals is the World Cup, even the Euros kinda bore me.

Well I did read it in the style of that guy from Are You Being Served? Which was possibly way off...

Mark Hughes talking himself into another managers job after quitting Fulham thinking he was getting the Bayern Munich job. I loved him as a player but he seems a bit classless as a manager.

Haha they really do seem to be clueless. After reading the Venky's comments it made me think of the FA's fit and proper person rule. Are Venky's in the right mind to be running a football club? They seem to know nothing about the sport at all if they think Bob is a brilliant manager.

Maybe we should produce a list of typical Tevez grievances....

Yeah, the World Cup is one where I would pay more attention. I have higher expectations of those matches.

*Heh*

I think he did a really good job at Blackburn; not sure of his managerial career since leaving them to be honest. Difficult to say how he did at Man City, not really long enough to form a more comprehensive opinion. He wasn't bad, though was probably not achieving the level of results the owner was expecting. Plus, given the amount of money being bandied about I'm not sure if Hughes would be the best to handle that sort of finance.

Well...the FA's fit and proper persons test has shown itself not to be worth anything after the fiasco at Portsmouth. I do wonder what sort of tests they're supposed to conduct.

Hm...Gary Neville has commented on the England team's chances of lifting the trophy. Be a long time England will be capable of challenging for any trophy.

Now it seems Corinthians do want Tevez and have sent Edu to negotiate. Football must be the only profession where you can refuse to do your job and still get work somewhere else.

Aye he did well at Blackburn and managed City during their transition but still has alot to prove I think before he can manage a big team. Which is why Chelsea would be perfect for him....

Did they ever reveal what a fit and proper person test entails?

"Are you a murderer?"
"Yes......no...."
"Your clearly a fit and proper person. Welcome to the league."

About time someone in the media said that without using it as a means to blame Cappello.

Just saw the Rooney sending off, oopsies. Could miss the groups it seems, must be absolutely brilliant for the media to have the ready made scapegoat.

That sort of attitude has now made me think that a lot of supermarket workers are actually professional football players as they seem to not do their jobs when I go shopping.... But yeah, sort of...disappointed about the Corinthians news really. I mean, seriously, a club wants a player who seems to act rather unprofessionally and only plays if he fancies it. OK......

Hughes does have a fair bit to prove, he'll need win a trophy first. And I'm sure he might get a chance when AVB gets the sack.

Quite frankly I think they just make it up as they go along, but I think that sounds about right. I would chuck in "Can you make the initial down-payment?"

Yeah. Neville is right. I would go further and suggest the English game needs a total restructuring much like France did before their World Cup win. England plays the power game whereas the best teams play technically; we lose out in the end.

They did mention he's the first England player to be red carded since a certain Mr. D. Beckham; or was it 'only the second player for England to be red carded'? Convenient certainly.

Looks like Worthington is stepping down as Northern Ireland's manager after what's happened. Mind you, we're still to have the first managerial casualty in the Premier League. Would Steve Bruce be close now that Niall Quinn has now taken up a different role?

Maybe there are other industries it works in but I doubt you'd get £200k a week and someone else will to pay upwards of £30m to have you come and refuse to work for them when you get fed up with your current employers.

Most managers seem to have a lofty opinion of themselves.

I think your right on the English game, Obaka. I like how Neville even singled out individual players including captain fantastic. You can't argue with him really.

I heard something about Rooney's red but I thought it was he was one of only two players to be sent off twice. Maybe I misheard it.

Worthington had nothing to work with. NI aren't a good team at all but saying that they looked beyond hopeless in the last few games, worse than usual. Lawrie Sanchez pulled a Redknapp saying Worthington should be sacked and he would take over again. Bloody sickening it was, hope he never gets it.

Bruce certainly needs results but he is trying to bed in alot of players. He doesn't have the media backing of managers like Owen Coyle either.

Was thinking banking there for a moment, but they just give themselves bonuses....

Probably part of the necessary psyche to be a manager. If you're going to deal with a bunch of big egos, maybe you need an even bigger ego.

Ah...that's probably what I read. Can never trust my hazy memory. Yeah...Rooney was sent off against Portugal for that nut stamp on...Carvalho I think back then. Can't remember Beckham's other red card though; only the one against Argentina comes to mind.

I hope fans over there don't have as unrealistic expectations as England fans seem to have, at least in a proportional sense. Actually, the way you've put it...Sanchez sounds worse than 'Arry there.....that's...rather quite frightening. I don't think I'll be able to sleep easy tonight.

Odd that, about the media backing. Have read some comments about Bruce that he's changes the squad too much, and it's never really settled as he keeps shifting players about (ignoring players like Bent and Gyan wanting to leave). I liked the job he did at Birmingham, and he did a pretty fair one at Wigan as well if memory serves (uh-oh); not sure about his stint at Sunderland though. Results this season haven't actually been that bad; not many wins but their losses aren't exactly thrashings handed out by the other team. Up against Arsenal next though, could go either way depending on Arsenal it would seem.

Hhhmmm interesting point about ego.

Wouldn't worry too much about not remembering Beckhams other red. His PR department will no doubt help the media to rewrite it as brave Beckham taking a red card for Queen and country. Saving both Queen the band and The Queen. All while sporting a fantastic new haircut and giving a speech about how he would love to represent England in 2022 because he would never abandon his country our David, he just won't live in it.

Most NI fans I've met seem to just want a bit of enjoyment at the matches and the team to atleast put up a bit of fight. No one ever believes they are good enough to qualify except a bizarre delusional vocal minority. They still get annoyed when being mauled 4-1 by Estonia and the way the team played it seems.

Sunderland did ok at the start of last season but Bruce's teams seem to have a habit of falling away in the second half of the season. Problem this year is they haven't started too well either. I don't think he is a bad manager, he has unearthed some gems in the PL. He just might have taken on more than he can handle with Sunderland.

Ah...that must be why I can't remember Beckham's second red then; probably got stopped in the street and canvassed, or had my mind wiped....

Ah yes, the vocal minority. Somehow this section of people seem to skewer the normal opinion. Seems to be true across the board as well...

A few losses, a few draws and not many wins. It isn't bad bad, so it can be seen why some might be getting restless about the situation at Sunderland; but if they traditionally fall away after a good start then it might be a bit more worrying. Perhaps you're right that Sunderland are perhaps a step too high for Bruce's abilities. I'll be interested to see whether he can get Bendtner to play well there.

Hm...Chelsea essentially providing reasons as to why they have to move in order to push the club forward, basically reciting possible problems in redeveloping Stamford Bridge as it is.

Also...Gerrard is apparently fit for the game against Man Utd. If he plays, will he mess up Liverpool's fairly decent run of games by spoiling the system? Would be funny if Liverpool lose and he has to carry the can.

I don't think its so much a Sunderland thing as it is Bruce's previous teams that fall away in the second half of seasons.

Is this part of Chelsea's attempts to break even? Remember when they promised to do that by 2010 was it?

Be interesting to see where Gerrard fits in. I get the impression Dalglish doesn't actually know what his best team or system is. Hopefully Vidic is back for United.

Has anyone seen this...http://www.football3...7234312/Top-Ten I quite enjoyed it.

That then sounds like a Steve Bruce problem then. Mind you, Alan Curbishley had the same problem with Charlton. Everton have the opposite problem supposedly, start weak then get strong. Ah...Man Utd are supposed to be like that as well; that they don't kick into gear until after Christmas.

Might be. Might just be a ground thing. Not sure about the break even thing though, date-wise that is. I think it was 10 years after Abramovich's purchase of the club. How long has it been since he bought Chelsea? I don't recall.

I get the impression that Dalglish also needs some players to come back, and perhaps he's still undecided about his team. Though surely he has an idea who his best players are.

Ah...the applause for Ronaldo for that hat trick against Man Utd; certainly a memorable moment of footballing appreciation. I think the tribalism might be a factor for some fans not accepting in public how good a goal is, or how a player had played in a game.

Ah...Liverpool making the headlines regarding the allocation of foreign money for TV rights. Sounds like a can of worms being opened.

EDIT: oh for goodness sake. I get it that there will be clubs that will always give certain players a chance; that Corinthians still have an eye on getting Tevez. But when reading this, and particularly this quote: "The written offer of £40 million isn't worth anything now. After all of
the problems, he should be worth less. What if he brings these problems
here?"

Er...then don't get him? *Shakes head in disbelief*

Its possibly because Bruce had smaller squads before but I don't know, thats just a wild theory I plucked out of nowhere.

Not sure. I think it was around 2003/2004 but thats just a guess.

Liverpools claim is hilarious that the big teams should get more to help them compete in Europe. Very nice of them offering the big teams that are in Europe more money. Creating a bigger financial gap between the elite and the rest is in no ones interest but the bigger teams. I think it should stay the way it is and its Spains system that needs reform.

Ha thats Corinthians saying we want Tevez but we don't want to pay. I almost hope they get him and get what they deserve. His suspension is over now and he is to be formally charged by the club apparently. Ofcourse the PFA have chirped in backing Tevez, if a player came on to the pitch with bombs strapped to him then the PFA would probably still back him.

Fifa 12: Less Bugs - swift playing - idiotic passing & tackling

I picked Real Madrid and got Ramsey, Hunt, Hummels (42 million$ overpriced!), Cissokho and two minor players. I couldn't beat Barcelona even on professional difficulty and it sucked!
Fifa 12 didn't let me get some of my favorite players like Pjanic, told me they're recently transferred and won't change clubs :(

It might well be. And wild theory's are always fun.

Apparently 2003. Wonder how close that purported plan is to fruition. At least Abramovich has some sense to eventually run the club as a business.

Yeah...Liverpool's claim of "we want more money". Agree that it's Spain's system that needs reform and not ours.

True. But it's just so ridiculous for them to even come out with it though. The PFA would just back a player no matter what; probably some weirdly construed sense of obligation.

Actually tried the FIFA 12 demo a couple of weeks ago; it felt OK. Actually worth considering I feel.

Anyone read about the thing about the government telling the FA to shape up with regards to debt levels in the game. It's a good thing to point out, but...if the government does step in wouldn't that mean FIFA will throw England out of their competitions? FIFA have always been adamant that governments do not interfere in their country's FA's business, haven't they?

I don't think Abramovich will ever run the club like a business, I always thought he would just sell up when he gets bored.

Liverpool wanting more money to compete in Europe when they aren't even in Europe is classic Scouse mentality.

The demo usually feels OK. The actual gameplay is normally fine, its things like transfers and stuff that end up broken, ruining the single player game.

Teams have been banned for their government interfering in football affairs so yeah I'd assume it would mean England being thrown out. I don't get why the government are sticking their noses into it.

Rooney has been banned for 3 games of the Euro's. SSN are acting surprised and treating it like a disaster. What did the FA think they were doing writing a letter asking for leniency? If it was something ambiguous that could be disputed then asking for leniency is fine. But he grabbed a guy and then booted the back of his leg. Leniency for that? Seriously?

Hm...hadn't thought about that actually, that's a good point. I wonder if Abramovich did sell up would it include all the peripheral businesses with the club....

Oh...it's probably a way of saying 'gizza some dosh, mate for a cuppa' or something. Also...probably trying to get some more money into the coffers since their actual business is progressing as planned or isn't picking up as hoped for.

So basically the most indepth parts of the game are broken...hm...a good match for quick play with the loss of an indepth mode....that's a tough one. I do lament the poor status of PES with the current gen as a result, it used to be the definitive footy game for me on the PS2.

Yep, would expect FIFA to come down on us if the government decides to intervene (not that they don't have a point after the Portsmouth fiasco).

I wonder what would have happened if the media here didn't make such a big fuss about it; would UEFA have sort of...forgotten about the first one? Could always hope. It's just that all the attention just highlighted the fact that Rooney has been red-carded before and is sort of screaming "Oi! 'E's been red carded before, mate. Can you forget about it?" Didn't see the incident so just going off what I heard, it was just daft. Goodness knows what some players think. So he'll miss a few games, probably wouldn't have gotten that far with him anyway....

Also...if the government does intervene and UEFA chucks England out, Rooney's suspension will become a moot point anyway.

By peripheral businesses do you mean he hotels and stuff attached to Stamford Bridge or is there more?

Ha nice work typing with a Scouse accent.

Apparently PES is alot better this year. But then again they say that every year. The old Master League was fantastic, it even worked like it was supposed to. Odd how sports games can't seem to acheive that anymore.

FIFA seem quiet on the matter, maybe waiting to see what happens. I think the government are just dying to get a piece of the football pie.

It wasn't the worst thing Rooney's done. His running elbow last season was worse. It was just so stupid and right infront of the ref. I think he would have got the 3 game ban no matter what, it was always going to be more than one for what he actually did. It wasn't a tackle it was lashing out at the back of someones leg. I might do a bet on him to be sent off tomorrow or score twice.

Yeah, that was the sort of thing I had in mind.

*Heh*

The PES demo didn't really grab me. The series seemed to lose its way when transitioning from the PS2 to the current gen. I bought...PES...2008 and I felt it was atrocious. The slow down was ridiculous and it just felt wrong. Was rarely convinced by FIFA and haven't bought a footy game since. Only the FIFA 12 demo seems to recapture that sense of fun. Shame that the master league equivalent is broken in it though; goodness knows how much time I spent on that on the PS2. Building up my ultimate team...ah...thems were the days.

I think the government mentioned a deadline of...next February? Probably might hear something from FIFA closer to that time I suspect. And I wouldn't be surprised if the government are, might actually boost revenue.

That does sound like a really daft thing to do. Mind you...imagine if he bangs in a hat-trick.

Next he should teach his assistant how to use the sausage making machine.

I dunno if manager mode is broken this year. I'm assuming it is because its broken every other year. This years FIFA is the first to have Arabic commentary. Official Xbox Magazine + Too much time on the toilet = Knowledge.

Isn't that a bit of a tight schedule to be clearing off millions of pounds of debt? Be hilarious if they did step in, got kicked out of FIFA and ended up causing the demise of English football as a massive money spinning industry. Or lead to the downfall of FIFA...

Bob's assistant seems to have worked well on his first day. Customers were pleased.

Is there some new rule about Liverpool and diving? The ref caught Downing clearly diving and when Evra asked for him to be booked because it is a yellow card offense the ref told Evra off. After showing replays showing Downing diving the commentators wouldn't really talk about it. Adam dived for Liverpools goal too, not sure what the f*ck Giggs was at in the wall. A freekick was given against Adam for diving a few weeks ago and he didn't get booked either.

United were fairly sh*t today too. Smalling did well for the most part but no one else really shown except De Gea. Seemed to be resting players ahead of the CL and Man City.

The best bit was Ray Wilkins giving Gerrard the man of the match award simply for coming back from injury as a welcome back. People still wonder whats wrong with English football?

We shall have to see on that front then; though it would still have to be pretty spectacular to get me to part with my money. Don't plan to get much until next year really.

Downfall of FIFA....they'll probably be claiming something like that about the FA. There was enough of that when England failed the World Cup bid.

Bob's assistant did seem to make the customers fairly happy. I believe the customers are waiting to see how his sausages come out now.

Maybe it's back to those days when Liverpool seemed to get away with quite a few things. The whole conspiracy thing.

Have to admit though, it did look like Man Utd were outplayed during large spells of that match. Ferdinand was fortunate giving how the decisions were going; he could have been sent off. Was surprised that Giggs was at fault for the goal though. De Gea seems to have settled now and looked pretty impressive, certainly didn't hear much in the way of complaints and criticisms against him which is a nice change.

Er...Gerrard was man of the match? For that reason? Riiiiight....if that's what constitutes being man of the match now-a-days....... Not sure if it's really what is wrong with English football though, perhaps it's an indication with what is wrong with Ray Wilkins.

I'm chuffed that Norwich won 3-1 against Swansea. Pilkington took his chances this time. Good way to pick up the pace after the trip to Old Trafford. Away to Liverpool next. Hm...again hoping for a respectable scoreline.

Not even Arkham City or Skyrim? Shocking!

I seem to have got Blackburn and Bolton confused yesterday. Ooops.

Well it seems Evra has accused Suarez of racism. Be interesting to see where this goes.

United were poor but I think Sir Alex was resting alot of players for a must win away CL trip and the game against City next week. Two much more important games in the scheme of things. De Gea seems alot more settled now, he is still young though so wouldn't expect him to be the finished article yet.

Yip, welcome back Stevie we have missed you. I would argue it is whats wrong with English football, pandering to any half decent player like he is a god. Speaking of Gerrard he admitted he isn't very good at freekicks and that his goal was a total miskick and lucky. Which brings me to the question....why the hell did he take it in the first place when Charlie Adam was standing there? Glory hunting is the answer that springs to my mind.

I meant to ask, has Grant Holt been dropped or what? I don't think I've seen him start any of the Norwich games I've seen.
