I watched the Manchester derby in its in entirety, but I will admit I didn't have the super analysing lens on. What happened there? The last few goals were because Man U moved forward to try for the draw, but that finishing was clinical, wasn't it? And a note about Micah Richards, I really liked what I saw. He played with a lot of intensity, with a lot of hunger, that's the kind of player to sign right there. Hopefully he continues to develop as a footballer and fame does not spoil him too much, cause he was really good today.
And Obaka and Druss, I did get to see the Chelsea match. Bosingwa's sending off was definitely too severe. Drogba's challenge was heavy, so that one was kind of merited. Nonetheless, QPR played well and held on to the lead. Chelsea's offense was mute, don't know how much was due to the sending offs.
There was a little trend I noticed over the weekend. When the home team is down or tied, the referee seems to allow for more time on the clock. Not a major issue probably, but a little bit interesting. What do you guys think? Is it something thats fairly common?

Definitely. Especially if the home team is man united, then it's till they score.
The fabled 'Fergie time' as some may suggest, though the trend itself seems to be quite prevalent at any ground really. One of the worst cases for me, in my mind (hazy memory alert) when it comes to added time is probably the Euro final with Italy against France (2000 I believe). Italy were 1-0 (one goal up anyway, can't remember the actual score) up and were set to win, and extra time just wouldn't end; it kept going and going until France equalized. France went on to win it after that. Always felt that was atrocious meself. In general the home team tends to get the better end of the decisions, at least that's the prevailing pattern over the years, unless you're against one of the big teams in which case they tend to get the decisions. Referees seem to unconsciously favour the bigger teams in general, at least that was a suggestion from a F365 article a while back.
After seeing the highlights one has to wonder just what happened with Man Utd, and that's ignoring Evans' stupidity. The rest of the players didn't seem to have the sort of desire that Ferguson's teams usually possess. The defence was pretty atrocious in general after that as well with Ferdinand seemingly all over the place. Perhaps he is still short of match fitness and whatnot but the signs aren't good. Man City were gifted that opportunity and they took it and then some more. All credit to them on that account. Micah Richards had a promising start to his career and it looked like he had a good understanding with Wright-Phillips when they both played for England, then he sort of dropped away for a while, but now he seems to be getting back to the sort of form/potential one would have expected from a few years back.
Bosingwa's sending off may have been a touch harsh, but it seems that he was the last man when Wright-Phillips was brought down so it's understandable why he got sent off. Drogba's challenge was poor to say the least. Chelsea wasted a few chances as well otherwise they might have got a point from that game.
And what is with these alleged racist incidents of late? Heard only a snapshot but apparently John Terry is alleged to have said something to Anton Ferdinand? Strange.
On a lighter note...some Blackburn fans still want Bob to be...er...chopped.....
The only reason Fergie time gets mentioned more than at other grounds is because United tend to score in added on time so its more noticable. Plus smaller teams tend to waste alot of time at Old Trafford so theres more to add on. Its the same everywhere.
That kind of hammering has been coming and could have happened against Norwich if they had taken their chances. Ferdinand has been abysmal this season, Jones isn't ready yet, Evra has had about one good game in the last two seasons and is no longer the best leftback in the world, the midfield doesn't offer consistant support for the back four and the fact that theres been constant injuries and rotation back there doesn't help. The only two defenders with any credit at all this season are Evans and Smalling who have been mostly excellent. Missing your captain and best player for most of the season doesn't help either. The defence just stopped playing and chasing after it got to 4-1, they gave up and waited for it to end. When Rafael comes back I'd guess Smalling and Vidic will be first choice centrebacks ahead of Evans and then the other two. We may need a new left back if Evra doesn't get his mojo back for Fabio is way too inury prone.
Richards got into doing funny things in nightclub toilets and trying to play as a centreback when he was supposed to be a rightback.
There was youtube videos clearly showing what Terry said but they were pulled. He has admitted to it anyway and I'll probably get banned if I repeat what he said, but it involved the c word that people seem to hate and the b word that you can't use if your white and American. He has previous with this, apparently he done it a few times against Spurs in the past and does anyone remember him, Lampard and Jody Morris abusing American tourists the day after 9/11? He will get away with it, he always does.
Man Utd do tend to press home the game quite well in added time. I think the Champions League final against Bayern is one of the most memorable even though they weren't at home. The excitement of the last few minutes was amazing.
Man Utd's defence has been rather unsettled this year so far, usually it's after the season has gotten into full swing when the injuries start piling up. I think I saw a mention somewhere that a new centreback is being considered by Ferguson.
Funny things in nightclubs...hm....sounds a bit...dodgy.
Ah...right. I think I know what was said then. Mind you, Terry isn't exactly the best example of a morally upstanding citizen (or person when it comes to it) so it isn't too surprising in that respect. Pretty sure there was something way back that he got done for (probably beating someone up at a nightclub, and come to think of it it's curious that Gerrard manages to get away scot-free on those things....). I have vague memories (actually most memories are vague but that's beside the point) of the abuse of American tourists. The antics some people get up to are unbelieveable at times.
It's interesting to see them on MOTD2 saying that Bob is handling the situation with great dignity. Being fair to Bob he has put on a brave face, faced the media and answered the questions regarding his position. Still wouldn't trust him myself but have to give him credit how he is handling it though. I would think most others would have a right old moan about the fans.
Haven't seen anything yet, though it should be close to a decision. Would still anticipate that Mancini has the power at the club, and the win over Man Utd (I know it hurts) will only strengthen his position there. The board and owner would be foolish to undermine their manager when he delivered such a result and without the supposed golden boy that is Tevez. If Mancini can maintain that momentum, then it's very much a case of "who's Tevez?"
Noticed the thing concerned with Scharner's celebrations in the last two games? Being booked for revealing an 'offensive' T-shirt. Er....a big logo of the club's badge (I think it is) is considered offensive now? Will they ban badge kissing next?
I'd say its a leftback and a holding midfielder we need more than a centreback. A creative midfielder wouldn't go amiss either.
Nightclub toilets, spit roasting I believe.
Terry bottled a bouncer from behind if I remember that incident correctly. The other one I think involved American tourists having a cry somewhere in London the day after 11/9(it didn't happen in November did it?) so 12/9 when Terry and his cohorts ran in and started hurling anti-America abuse at them. Can't remember exactly what they did said/did though. Sh*t doesn't stick to some players, imagine if it was Rooney or Barton.
I dunno about Mancini getting that much backing. With the spending power and the fact its a team of seasoned international players with very little youth they may consider the manager expendable and easily replaced.
I hadn't heard the Scharner thing. Why wasn't Balotelli booked yesterday then? Or was he? I didn't think he was but maybe I missed it.
Sven Goran Eriksson has been sacked by Leicester. Be interesting to see where he ends up next.
Some fans I think have been crying out for a creative midfielder, even more so with the retirement of Scholes. I would definitely agree on a holding midfielder, and it has to be 'said' that it's a shame Hargreaves never found his footing at Man Utd.
Mm...spit roast. Wait a minute.......
Can't quite recall clearly, but wasn't Woodgate involved in something as well? I think it was for beating up an Asian man. For some reason I keep thinking Terry was involved in that; probably unjustified mind you (my recollection of Terry's association that is). Barton is the most recent person to snag a lot of headlines in the media, and his use of Twitter keeps him at the forefront for any further analysis. But yeah, I agree that some players manage to get away with it.
They could indeed think that, but I would think that would be a bit short sighted of them. Not all managers can use the cash effectively when buying players, and even those who do have a good eye for talent may not be able to utilize that talent. I think Mancini has brought in players that he has managed to use effectively so far. And...in this aspect I think Mourinho needs a mention as well. When he was at Chelsea he did manage to use the money to win the title by getting certain players, though he did have a lot going as well due to having a large squad. I don't think he could have done it in the long run though. It remains to be seen whether Mancini has much of a youth policy. Oh...how could I go through spending and not mention Benitez; no matter how much financial backing he may have I still think he would waste it.
I'm also not sure how many managers are really good at nurturing talent either. Ferguson has spent years building new teams, so we know he is capable. Wenger has relied on youth and not doing too badly over the years as well. David Moyes perhaps? Everton do manage to produce a few players every now and then.
Scharner's T-shirt was of a big badge of the club's, made by his sons I think I read. He showed that to opposition's fans. Maybe the referees took that as...incitement. Still a minor thing in my view as it seems to indicate his loyalty to the club he plays for, like kissing the badge. Balotelli's I'm guessing is because it could be seen as self....*bargh* can't think of the word...a sort of mockery of himself (self defecation I think it is).
Yeah, read that he got sacked. So Schteve and Sven are gone. Hm....intriguing. Should pay more attention to the Championship really. Just to see where certain teams are....
Spit roast in a cubicle if I'm remembering right. Sounds.....cramped.
Wasn't that Woodgate and Bowyer that attacked the Asian guy? Its amazing what they get away with.
I seem to recall the team was more or less built when Mourinho arrived. Infact they finished second the season before he came in and had done fairly well in Europe. With Arsenal and United in transition Chelsea were primed to win the league anyway. Mourinho gets way too much credit for it I believe.
City don't really need someone to nurture young talent, they bought a squad of international players. Seems to be a lost art with managers not getting much time at clubs these days anyway.
Thats just bizarre. I'd assume if one was going to be booked and one not it would be the other way around. At what point do messages on tshirts become bookable offences?
That does sound cramped, and....well...other size concerns....
Ah...that's right, Woodgate and Bowyer. That was also a nasty incident. Back when they were still at Leeds if memory serves. I see that the police are now investigating the Terry incident. Of all the accusations of racism of late this is the only one that seems to be following correct procedure as it were. Wasn't it spotted by people working in the studio or something?
That's true to an extent. Ranieri did a pretty good job when Abramovich first took over, and even in Bates' final years Chelsea were moving up the table. Still lucky that Abramovich came in the time he did though as that seemed to provide a final push.
It would have to be said that though they have the financial clout to buy the players, I wonder how long they can navigate around the financial fair play rules. Because, let's be honest here, that's what they have done with the sponsorship deal. It's also not a particularly sustainable business model either, unless the owner sees it as a plaything and willing to continuously pump money into it, and will eventually collapse. Definitely a lost art in the Premier League; my impression is we would have to look lower down to see some nurturing. Mind you, managers rarely seem to get a decent run at a job; though I do wonder about the coaching staff though as a result.
I think the referees were swayed by the fans' reaction, there can't be much else in it. And the rules seem either too open for individual interpretation or just unclear. Still think it's all a bit silly if it was considered an offense. I mean, the players wear clothing that indicate their team. Next thing considered offensive...religious gestures on the pitch which then results in a yellow card, because not everyone belongs to that religion....
I think so. Some are linking Martin O'Neill to the Leicester job; seems like a favourite for any managerial vacancy it would seem.
Also...bemused that AVB is being investigated for his comments about the refereeing. So...how does Dalglish get away with his comments? Very strange. The favouritism seems far too overt.
I think the only reason Terry is being investigated is because a member of the public complained. Be interesting to see if Ferdinand pushes it, if found guilty Terry could be dropped by England meaning less competition for Ferdinand's faltering brother. Also AVB's stance on the matter had me laughing aloud, Terry said he didn't do it so that should be the end of the matter. Brilliant. Lets take Terry's word for everything.
I'd say City will spend another £50m or so in January. They are building now to avoid the fair play rules next year. Most young English players aren't good enough to make it in big teams anyway, so they are more likely to come through lower down the league.
Its an absolute nonsense. If the FA can't get simple rules like that right then what hope is there?
I don't understand all the Martin O'Neill hype. He seems overrated to me.
This is the third time AVB has made comments so isn't that victimised. How he got away with the first two I don't know though. Dalglish will continue to get away with it though. Yet more FA inconsistancy. If it had been Sir Alex, Pardew or Wenger....
Speaking of Dalglish his record is now almost identical to Hodgson's incharge of Liverpool. Where's the chanting and banners to get him out? The only win they have had since August relied on very dodgy refereeing too. He continues to berate and attack people asking him questions in press conferences, wheres the stories? Where's the headlines like when Sir Alex snapped at Kelly Dalglish?
Apparently A. Ferdinand is due to meet the QPR board about this incident, and any case would require his word. But imagine if he did press ahead with the accusation, and Terry has to be dropped from the England captaincy again! And of course, Terry is the most trustworthy person there is.
Be surprised they don't spend with what I assume to be the impending departure of a certain C. Tevez. At the very least they would want someone to bolster their squad numbers. Still under the impression that the English game needs to add more of the technical skill in there at a young age so we could eventually compete against the top teams in the world.
I doubt AVB is victimised, but the FA are certainly quicker to act when it comes to certain managers as you suggest. It does make me wonder why a supposed professional body are so biased in the application of their rules and regulations. This only leads me to speculate that something concerning money is involved, otherwise there doesn't seem to be much of an explanation.
Favouritism on the fans' part; would also add in blind faith/loyalty as well. Unfortunately that sort of blindness denies logic.
A. Ferdinand(have I missed a memo?) has apparently not backed Terry and so QPR have made an official complaint. If it was a foreign player doing it against England then the FA would be out condemning it and demanding punishment, I suspect Terry will get off scot free.
Platini's comments today about rich Arab owners turning the game on its head were welcome. His comments about Beckham were just as welcome, finally someone in the football world calling it for what it is.
Oops I'd a typo, I meant AVB isn't victimised but is claiming it. He is still making his claims even after the FA have charged Chelsea and asked him to explain his comments. Quite frankly he has broken the rules by saying what he has and if he isn't cracked down on then the FA will be even more laughable.
The Mohamed Al Fayed - Mark Hughes spat has amused me recently too.
Probably will depend how strong the case for the prosecution will be I suspect. Apparently Terry went to speak to A. Ferdinand after the match about the alleged incident, repeating what was allegedly said. In that sense Terry did say those words to him...
Missed that. But any semblance of common sense is always welcome. Will also wonder what sort of reforms to FIFA Platini will propose as well.
Ah...that makes more sense. Even so, AVB is starting to live up to the little Mourinho title it would seem. Will he become as obnoxious though is the question.
Yeah, I read about that as well. Does seem highly amusing considering. Hughes' claim that Fulham lack ambition, and Al-Fayed's claim that Hughes wasn't even first choice to take the managerial job. Expecting more shenanigans as a result.
And looks like Tevez has been charged by the Man City board. Now wondering what excuse he'll come up with, or Joorabchian as the case is more likely to be. Still seems to be a slap on the wrist more, but...am I right in thinking there's an upper limit to how much a player can be fined by the club? At least that's what I remember from playing Football Manager anyway.
Speaking of which...might be tempted to dip into some Football Manager at some point.
Has anyone seen the Mourinho commercial for I think its Braun razors? If any confirmation was needed that he is a total and utter prat then there it is. Its like he thinks he is cooler than Jeremy Kyle.
I hope that spat esculates. It could get hilarious.
I think Football Managers limit was 2 weeks but in reality its 4 weeks. Not sure where I'm getting that impression from. 4 weeks wages is alot of cash for Tevez if he is on £250k a week. His PR man said Tevez just wants to play football and thats all he's ever wanted and feels this has damaged his reputation and its wrong. He just wants to play except when he doesn't feel like it or when he is thinking about retiring.
I think I've retired from management after last years. Perhaps some day in the future I'll take up another role if the right offer comes along.
The most serious thing about that alleged incident is that the member of the public reported it to the police, unlike the other cases of late where the news is being spread by the media.
Thanks for the link, Druss. Platini does make a lot of sense there, and it's true regarding Beckham as well. Still wonder how far UEFA will go to actually enforce the rules on financial fair play though, especially after they have scrutinised the accounts of the likes of Man City and PSG.
I don't think I have, though I do vaguely recall he was in quite a few adverts when he was at Chelsea. If I haven't though I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to see it.
Indeed. I think we can just sit back with some popcorn and just anticipate the mirth to come. Here's hoping anyway.
That's where I get my info anyway. Football Manager is good for that sort of thing; a big database of football on your PC (ignoring the internet).
That does sound to be like Tevez, the man who knows all about being a professional footballer. Suing Mancini for defamation now as well apparently? Nice to know Tevez can get along with Mancini. Come to think about it...wouldn't it be fun if Tevez released an autobiography?
An annonymous member of the public too. It would be hilarious if it turned out it was Evra. Dunno why but the idea of him randomly menacing people with claims of racism kind of amuses me, purely because he is a bit of a mental patient.
Thats the kicker. What exactly can UEFA do?
The ad is so bad that I will never buy another Braun product. Its my new policy, if your commercial annoys me then I won't buy your product.
I've heard a few times that some managers actually use Football Manager for scouting purposes. Seems absurd but I've heard it a few times.
Why has it not registered with Tevez that he actually said on camera that he refused to play because he wasn't in the right frame of mind? Am I missing something? Has City letting him save face warped reality for him even more? What would he call the autobiography? "Me and Kia: A love store."?
Not sure. I kind of decided not to get last years but then being sat around injured I hadn't much else to do so I ended up buying it to pass the time. I'll always remember the great team I brought through at United. Don't know if I could do that again.
I wonder if he still got a bollocking for missing the penalty? Maybe even taken off penalty duty?
Edit: The PFA have now backed Tevez and accused Man City of treating him unfairly, so they aren't allowed to fine him 4 weeks wages. Apparently Tevez is claiming he was never told he was going on to the pitch so he can't have refused to play. There are no words.
Presumably they will throw clubs out of their competitions, which effectively really only effects clubs that will play, or potentially play, in Europe. Small clubs won't really be effected by the financial fair play policy, unless UEFA deems the domestic league their domain as well.
Likelihood is that Tevez's camp will claim that the footage was unclear, and that the camera also adds ten pounds. As for his autobiography...hm..."Me and Kia: the secret to our partnership"....I think we can come up with a few more. Also...I don't think reasoning capability is too high with the people in his camp.
That's the kicker with the games really, as you effectively lose your game with a new release. You just can't regain those games and moments you originally had. *Sigh* Thems were the days....
PFA backing a player no matter how ludicrous the situation? Never would have imagined that to be the case. Starting to wonder though....suppose A. Ferdinand does accuse Terry of using a racist slur, and Terry (obviously) denies it; whose side would the PFA take? That is...when it's a player against a player.
Interesting to see Jol comment of Fulham's ambition after what has transpired. Will Hughes respond....? The plot thickens.
Thats our Pat. He seems to have given up on being a world class leftback so he needs something else to occupy him.
Are you suggesting that teams can go a bit mental with the spending until they have to play in Europe? I think Malaga would be an example but I'm not sure. I suppose City would be one actually.
I don't even want to predict what will happen next. Has Tevez saying he wouldn't play because his head wasn't right been completely wiped from history now?
Yeah I don't think I could build a team better than my last one. The best part was I signed most of them as 15 and 16 year olds and brought them through the ranks or they came from our academy. I'd one striker who had something like 84 goals in 89 games, he was only 21 and his strike partner was going to be even better playing in the old free role and wandering allover. It was a thing of beauty.
I think they would just stay quiet on it and hope for the best. Every time a player does something wrong you can expect Gordon Taylors slow drawl to pop up to defend him, no matter what.
Will Hughes respond with no dignity at all? I keep hearing mention of Zamora's miss the other night but I've yet to see it. Has anyone seen it or have a link to it?
Well, at least he's keeping himself busy if nothing else.
Seems like most people have ignored that for some reason. Goodness knows why; perhaps someone declared it as inadmissible evidence or something, probably because the camera puts ten pounds on someone hence it wasn't them who said it....
The beauty of the game....
Yep, to the point of absurdity is how it looks. Man City struck back suggesting there's a conflict in interests there.
Difficult to say whether Hughes will keep schtum, but then...he started it.
Bob's team visits Carrow Road tomorrow. Hopefully we can give Blackburn supporters another reason for wanting Bob out.
omskman, that picture gave me a good case of the chuckles. you're right obaka, its not one of those things that the referees seem to be doing purposely, its just unconscious. and thats it, man u did not seem inspired out there. wicked goal rage, caption was spot on. druss, it seems the closest there is to a video of the miss is the press conference with the manager and a recreation with fifa.
i'm curious, what games will you guys be watching this weekend? there seems to be some good matchups in the premiership this weekend, but there seems to be some good matchups in some over the other leagues as well. your thoughts?
Well...watching MOTD on Saturday I was sort of anticipating the Chelsea/Arsenal game to be on first with Arsenal winning 5-3, and boy it was a cracking game. Van Persie getting a hat trick as well. Good stuff.
I was expecting one of the Manchester clubs' match to be next and was pretty shocked to find the Norwich/Blackburn game to feature second. Quite honestly I would have thought that game would have been near the end of the programme. Blackburn played well I will have to admit. Norwich persevered to get a draw which is to be admired in itself. I will state that we were tremendously lucky to get that penalty though. It isn't lost on me that Blackburn should have won that game but for a dodgy decision. The ball drops down onto the guy's upper arm and...penalty? That was a pretty strange decision. Bob's team is improving but lacking a bit of luck it would seem.
Speaking of luck...Wigan didn't have much when it came to their shots on goal either. Almost painful to watch at times.
they were showing the man city wolverhampton match and at the half they showed the highlights of the arsenal chelsea match. what a game indeed.
the man city/wolverhampton game was pretty tame actually, not terribly exciting. got to see a little bit of the liverpool/west brom match, and liverpool did not play too bad actually. it looks like stevie g though might have another lengthy injury though. besides that, got to see a couple of serie a games, which were both pretty exciting.
now to the good stuff....got to see barcelona today when they re aired the match. they played mallorca, one of the lower table teams, but it was good to watch. i started watching around the 20th minute, and you know, barcelona have this thing about them where you go, well, they look fairly ordinary right now, is the magic gone? well, i reckon that is how they had been looking from the begginning of the match, because all of a sudden they began to turn it on. they weren't trying as hard as when they played man u (champion's final, last time i saw them) but they were still very good. the triangulation, the movement, and most of all the vision of their players is unreal. often there would be times when somebody on the flanks would cross it in much before somebody was there to receive it, and then the forward would recieve it just as it got there, reacting to the next play when the defender or the keeper was barely playing the cross. it was like precision clockwork, and you know what, i had a feeling it was no where near their best. it probably just comes natural to them now.
i could go on for quite a bit actually, so lets talk about how you defend them. lol, that actually sounds like a silly question to ask, how do you defend them? if you guys missed the two game of la copa del rey, i urge you to watch them online or somewhere, they are that good. mourinho has come the closest to defending them, but the sheer amount of energy the madrid players expended just pressuring barcelona has to take a toll. probably the only way to beat barcelona is one, if they are having an off day, or two, being better at what they do, which is posession and absolute clinical finishing. i mean, you give them one look, they are not going to forgive. also, david villa is really cool because...well, he just seems really cool. maybe its because he is from valencia.
messi's 3rd, what a cross, the 4th was all class, and that 5th...well, just take a look (if only he played that well for brazil)

MOTD (Match of the Day) is a highlights package on the BBC over here. Pretty much all we get on free-to-air TV if it hasn't been mentioned before; so that's pretty much all my footy fix (if I can stay awake for it).
Man City are continuing their run of form; Man Utd are winning again (as if it's been a long time since they did...) though not with the aplomb one would hope them to react with, but a win's a win.
Liverpool are coming along it would seem, and the battle for the Champions League places looks like where the bulk of the action will be. Chelsea now seem a lot flimsier, Arsenal look they can go on, Tottenham look impressive with van der Vaart in good form (will be interesting to see how they will cope with some injuries though not to the bare bones as 'Arry likes to say), and Liverpool tend to end up near that sort of spot. Will also be interesting to see whether Newcastle can hang with the big boys (so to speak) given their current position in the table.
Ah...Barcelona. I still think of their defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates as a way of beating them; oddly an event that seems to no longer exist in history for some unknown reason for the press. Mourinho did it with Inter as well. It seems that to stop Barcelona is to press them relentlessly, and then to have the skill to punish them when they lack possession. In short, it appears that the team has to stop them from playing. Thing is, you'll need exceptionally fit players with a ton of stamina to pull it off. It can be done, even Arsenal showed that, and Mourinho knows how to stop them as well; but whether that gameplan can be effectively utilized on the pitch is another matter.
Good stuff on the goals, but...that's how they do highlights? I kept seeing celebrations for no apparent reason before they showed the goal. That was strange. To me it seemed like...this is the celebration, and here's the build up to the celebration. Also couldn't help but think that when Guardiola was giving instructions at the beginning it looked like he was telling the player to be a train driver and blow the whistle....
So Obaka, they don't have premier league games over there free to air? If you want to watch a match live you have to have sky? Well, thats not cool. I was able to watch a match over here from the bbc's broadcast once (very rare occurance), and they did an exceptional job. The score marker was very minimal, and I think there would be gaps where they would take the box out all togethor, leaving the screen free of any distracters. Got to say, it was a real treat.
edit: forgot to add this, but you should come visit me in america obaka, cause there is this sweet package we get where you can see about 2 to 3 games a week from quite a few leagues from around the world. and they have terrific, free over the air coverage of the mexican primera division as well.
At least I know there are tons of little clubs to go watch a match. Are the prices fair there? Its seems like it would be an arm and a leg to go see a game at old trafford or the emirates.
I'm glad you brought that up about the other clubs, because so far the premier league has been pretty competitive. I am actually surprised Arsenal have been doing so well, as well as Tottenham and Newcastle. And aren't Norwich sitting comfortably in the 8th spot lol. However, I have a feeling Man U haven't had their say yet. I am glad Man City have been doing so well, and will be hoping the title race stays close.
Yeah, I think you could put 5 defenders back and hope for a draw, but its tough. Mourinho had the Madrid players press Barca so they couldn't breathe, so they couldn't get comfortable, but this really taxed them. If you are the one controlling the ball, you dictate the play. Madrid need to work on their triangulatin and off the ball movement (just like barca do so well) in order to maintain posession so that they are not tiring themselves out trying to regain posession. It sounds easier said then done though. Another thing Barca have are just wonderful finishers. I don't know if Madrid have frontmen like Barcelona, who can conjure something out of nothing, like in the supercopa... oh, and a little mistake, I think I said Copa del Rey above, meant to say the two games of the Supercopa. How do you defend something like that? Also, another mistake, I had not seen Barca since the Supercopa matches, and Madrid looked like a completely different team.
