A lot of the big teams have lost that air of superiority (as it were) in recent years, and the opposing side tend to have a go as a result (they're no longer afraid). In footballing terms these teams will still be a little off the pace though hard graft makes up for a fair bit of lack of skill. Will be an interesting match though, more so with Henry and Scholes in the mix should they play. I'm sure the commentators would have a field day with that one.
That's what I had in mind. As much as it is supposed to restrain the excesses of the large clubs participating in Europe it may stifle the possible growth of smaller clubs with rich backers. With these clubs I don't think they will have the fanbase or the merchandise sales to compete with the current elite clubs, so their finances will limit the players they can get in to push the club forward. Then it struck me that if they're not bothered about European competition and only want domestic success....well....they could spend as much as they want really.
I have it in my head (one of those days I'm afraid) I read that Tevez was fined by Man City for going AWOL. Have no idea if it's true, though if I had just stuck 'Fact' after that last sentence then it is a fact.... Man City are sticking by their guns; not sure if that's really the best thing to do though it is their prerogative to do so.
As for Samba...pretty sure that when Allardyce was fired that he said he wanted to leave. I'm just surprised it's taken this long really.
Well...expecting sense from The Iron Gerbil might be a bit too much of an ask. Mind you, with most of the media seemingly onboard the 'Tottenham can win the league!' sort of feel I'm not too surprised he would take that line; though I suppose he did suggest earlier in the season that they still had a chance. Hm....thoughts aren't very clear today..... "Look over there! There's a poster stating that a spine has been lost by a 'TIG'."
Hm...looks like the conspiracy is taking off after that match against Wolves.

Aye we lost it a while ago, we haven't had it for a few years infact. This is slightly different though, other teams being able to beat the top teams on any given day is a good thing in my opinion and I'd be bored as a fan if we won every week with no possibility of defeat. Its when we play other good teams I fear an absolute spanking, the way we've played this season at times we've been very close to getting hammered a few times. Norwich could have given us a whipping at Old Trafford for example. I'm dreading the Arsenal match. Its a strange new feeling and hopefully not the future.
Thats basically what its for, its to protect Real and Barca from the likes of Man City and Chelsea. It protects United too so I'm not too offended yet lol. But in the long run it will hamper the dreams of smaller clubs although any who rise up will truly have earned it, unless they are up to dodgy things.
According to SSN this morning they need to have an internal disciplinary hearing to deal with Tevez when he returns but they are trying to sell him first and then discipline him. Maybe sell him and then ask FIFA to ban him or something? I dunno but it seems no one will stump up the £25m for him anyway, Inter have apparently backed out now.
Samba asked for a transfer but agreed to stay when I believe Blackburn made promises to him, much like the crazy ones they made to everyone else about Ronaldinho and the like I'd imagine. Now he's fed up and handed in a transfer request which has been refused. Up to the club really but it can't be good for the dressing room when your captain has no faith in the club and wants out.
Wasn't it The Iron Gerbil who was beating the "we can win it!" drum last week? Then again he did the exact same thing last season but it was over a longer period. That poster is well out of order, its implying he had one to begin with.
It does indeed, some fishy decisions. Fishier than a fish wifes gusset.
Newcastle have splashed out for a striker...but he is at the ACN too....
David Weir is coming to England this week to finish his career there too. Who is desperate for an experienced CB? I've got a bad feeling about this...

Top of the table mini-league analysis is what is needed...but I can't be bothered. It does seem that Man City have a better record against those around them this season; Man Utd by comparison aren't as assured (I guess that's the way I'd put it). Mind you, a lot of the points will be earned against the lesser teams so as long as the form is kept up it should stay rather close.
That's the way it seems which I would have to agree with. Even if we didn't have these new rules coming in I just don't see anyone having the money to buy a club and competing in the transfer market. There aren't many clubs that are really prime to hit the big time, though I guess Tottenham is flavour of the month should anyone with a ton of money to spare fancy their chances of having a go. With the small clubs even earning that spot through merit is tricky because if they don't pick up fans and generate merchandise sales they will always be dependent on the owner's money and interest.
Hm...will Tevez have to return to complete any paperwork if he gets sold? The rate things are going he'll become a non-entity in football.
Unless they think they can persuade him it's one of those daft things to do. The Iron Gerbil was lucky that Modric got his head down and played well for them, most aren't that lucky.
He probably did. *Removes offending poster*
Could things be any more fishier?
Er...not exactly the best back up option there then.
Actually, quite a few clubs would probably need an experienced CB. The question is where does he fancy playing? Norwich could do with some shoring up at the back for a start (interesting to see us trying to take another of Leeds' players as it were), Arsenal can't defend for toffee (is toffee that much of an incentive?), and Bolton with Cahill now gone are all possibilities. Hm....

Liverpool have won that mini league in years gone past and wound up nowhere near the title. I think theres a stat about the winners of it usually finishing 4th rather than 1st. I could swear I've read that.
I think Spurs owner is already fairly rich so even affording them would be a bit of a problem. PSG might hit a bit of bother when FFP comes in. They seem to be the boogeyman of choice at the minute too, if your going to start a transfer rumour then PSG are the team.
Considering Tevez refusal to apologise for his actions followed by going awol and what he did in the first place then surely FIFA have to ban him. Its a dangerous precedent, he won't even speak to City so I'd assume he will refuse to return to sign anything and will deal with faxes. I can't imagine why anyone would pay £25m if you can't garantee he will even turn up and FIFA seem unwilling to do anything about him so far. You could just be spunking your money up the wall. Its madness and football is the only business were such things go on and continues to baffle me.
Apparently if Samba leaves then Dann has a clause in his contract saying he can go too so they have to hold on to Samba or lose them both. Thats the rumour anyway, they keep talking about 5 big signings but it seems to be SPL, lower leagues and players that can't get in the Bordeaux team they are talking to.
I think mermaids growler is the next level on the fishy scale.
No, they are international strike partners it seems. Could be good in the long run but still leaves them short this month. But then Newcastle are in no real danger and can afford to experiment this season I suppose.
There's experienced CB's and theres a 40 year old CB who has been playing in the SPL possibly making the step to EPL. The thing that frightens me is that he is leaving a title challenging team so it would probably need to be a title challenging team he goes to, we are short on experienced CB's with Ferdinand creaking and Vidic out for the season. Whats it say about United's finances if thats out best option?
Norwich are signing Howson and have sent De Laet back to United. Haven't seen the exact reason why but heard rumblings of injuries. Tried reading the United forums but I wanted to punch myself in the face after 5 minutes.
Highlights of the Real - Barca match: When is something going to be done about this fixture? Every game theres something nasty going on. Why is Pepe still a footballer? Isn't letting him on the pitch endangering other players safety? Also the commentary is one of the reasons the US won't win the World Cup any time soon, bloody hell lol.

Hm...now that you mention it Liverpool had done quite well there; the flip side is that they did poorly against the lower teams. The mentality seems to suggest that they up their game against the bigger opposition. In a way it sort of implies a smaller club status (the supporters won't like that suggestion). Mind you, that mini-league is only useful if the teams are 'certain' to beat the lower teams and the league is then decided with those head-to-head results.
There's always a need of a boogeyman club...for agents anyway. Otherwise they can't help their clients secure a higher wage. PSG does seem to be that club of late, and with Ancelotti in charge I'd imagine he'd be linked with more names given his standing.
Hm...an interesting clause to have in a contract. I can see the reason behind that, though it seems like quite an...excessive (?) clause for a player like Dann I feel. If it's true and Samba does leave, Dann would still require a buyer. He'd be in the shop window though that's no guarantee he will be leaving the club.
Let's scrutinize Chelsea's next match to see if it gets that fishy then.
Can see the benefit in that move then. Hammer the other teams (or win them at the very least) while both are playing and hope that the points generated is enough to cover their absence when they do go on international duty at the ACN.
*Ahem* "My team has youth; your team has a bunch of kids." Has there been much on Weir going to Man Utd? Haven't noticed any myself. Mind you there are other plausible options. Maybe.
Hm...de Laet to go back, huh. The injuries haven't helped, and I assume Norwich are paying his wages for the duration of the loan, so it's understandable from a financial point of view to send him back to free up some wages to get someone else. Would still like to see a defender being brought in given our defensive record. There's also the availability of Ayala as well which I would imagine figured into the decision. Howson still isn't a certain signing yet (read some of Leeds' supporters' comments and, boy, this is a real kicking for them).
Well...I just learned from the commentators that the goal posts don't move. A very handy thing to know I think. *Cough* The names....blimey! "Call it what you like." OK; I'll call it a banana. Just what is commentary like for their own sports? J.R. isn't doing much, stick him on commentary and I'm pretty sure it will be an improvement even if he knows nothing about the game.

Bah! I got caught up with skysports fantasy football. My entire defence is left footed and three of them are fullbacks. If it was an actual team it would blow chunks. Infact Valencia might be the only right footed player in my whole team.
Liverpool behaving like a small time club? Never! Never I tell you! Their argument with adidas was pretty amusing. I think thats the thing though, theres more "lesser" teams than there are elite teams so being able to pick up the points in the easier games is more beneficial in the long run. Though times are slowly changing it seems with the break up of the big four.
FFP will probably return Real to the top of the boogeyman tree.
Aye it sounds a bit far fetched for them to be stupid enough to put that clause in but then again its Blackburn. If anyone really wanted him wouldn't they have bought him in the summer? Its not like his stock could have gone up much at Blackburn.
Who is their next match? Norwich?
Nothing on Weir to United, just me making myself nervous lol.
It would be handy having De Laet back for we need cover at leftback, should never have let O'Shea go. Dunno what sort of injury he has though. Isn't Howson's contract up in the summer? Good times when Leeds are on the way down.
The commentary on the NHL is usually pretty good. It's like they just found some random English guy and figured he would know about football so hired him. I've seen it a few times watching football on ESPN with American coverage, it can be utterly shocking.
How very surprising that Beckham has stayed in LA. Like it was ever anything more than a PR stunt, who has a press conference for signing a new contract?

Just as well it isn't a real team then. Can you imagine if a team consisted of only left-footed players?
Yeah, the adidas thing is amusing. They are basically saying that Liverpool are no longer the team they were. Not sure how the European competition defence Liverpool used really addresses that; though I confess that I don't understand many of Liverpool's many defences of late.
Indeed. Then there are Barcelona's transfers away from the club as well....
Hm...I'd forgotten that it was Blackburn. Shame on me. Agree that if anyone was interested there would have been something in the summer. Cahill at least was mentioned a lot during the summer though the move took a long while to come about.
Hm....usually I'd respond with a particular word beginning with 'b' for cases like this.
As long as you don't worry yourself sick, Druss.
O'Shea was pretty much the best squad player a team could have: handy at a few positions and doing a decent job at any of them. Given Man Utd's frailties it was a surprise that he was sold, especially with Brown leaving as well. And yeah, Howson's contract is up in the summer and Leeds want to cash in before he leaves on a free. Rivals going down is always a good thing.
If the commentary for other matches are as bad as that, or worse....I shudder to think.
You'll also be pleased to know that Mr. Beckham also wants to captain the Olympic team. To be honest I'd be surprised if he doesn't....
Read the thing about Warnock blaming certain people for getting him sacked as well as those using Twitter and stuff? Does he mean Barton? Hm.... Also interesting to note that Barton hit back using, you guessed it (actually, does anyone need to guess...?), Twitter about a ton of reasons Warnock got sacked. This may just be the start of something....

Oh I've Cabaye aswell. I've played in teams that only consisted of right footed players, well I'm two footed so would often end up on the left wing. It was strange and unbalanced, about 60% of the goals we conceded were from wingers taking on our left back who was all awkward trying to defend on that side and getting their crosses in. You'd almost think that was partly my fault...
It's like on the field they are defensively sound with a woeful attack, off the pitch they are always attacking someone but can't seem to defend themselves at all.
Aye, I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple of years the boogeyman rumours involve Barca having clauses in player's contracts that never even played for them saying they can buy them anytime they want for any fee they want.
Didn't Blackburn just sign Dann in the summer? He can't have had any other decent offers. Unless I'm mixing him up with someone else, which is entirely possible.
Aye I said at the time I couldn't understand us selling O'Shea. Aw well I'm sure Sir Alex has a plan.
I'm pretty sure I've heard worse US commentary, theres a guy famous for it but I can't remember his name off the top of my head. Tommy something I think...
He signed for another two years too. Who gives a two year contract to a 36 year old? If he can't get into the England team, why would he get into an all GB team? It's all a bit of a joke really. I don't believe there should be football at the Olympics in any capacity to be honest. It feels unnecessary. But I suppose they need something worth watching "Lets fork out a small fortune to see some people run around a big circle. YAY!" Grumble...grumble...grum...
I saw a bit of it on SSN but I was in the process of going out. I guessed he was blaming Fernandez, didn't realise he meant Barton. Barton replying via Twitter though is like the sun coming up, if Warnock said the sky was blue then Barton would have something to say about it on Twitter. I must look in the morning see if I can find the full story.

Somehow a team consisting of only right-footed players doesn't have the same...feel to it. I am prejudiced....*Head drops in shame*
Twas a good analogy. Hats off to you, sir.
That clause is probably hidden in a microdot in the contract somewhere.
Nope, you're right; Dann only went to Blackburn in the summer of last year. The thing is he played very well with Roger Johnson at Birmingham and it was that partnership that gained him notice. I don't think either have been particularly impressive since they split up (so to speak).
Window is still open; anything could happen.
I'll leave you to think about that one.
Indeed he reportedly has. It does make it sound that the game in the US isn't particularly competitive if someone that age gets a two year contract. Arsenal's old policy of only offering a one-year contract to over-30 (?) players make more sense as the player gets older. I suppose goalkeepers would make more sense on a two year contract as most are close to their best, if not at their best, around that age. They have hockey as well. Not sure what other sort of sports of that field nature are at the Olympics; I rarely pay attention to it.
Warnock seems to be blaming certain unnamed persons, inside and outside the club, who were swaying the owner with their 'poisonous views' of him. He also blamed the use of social media as that allows a direct line to the owner. I'm not sure how many others at the club use Twitter but Barton is the obvious one to think of. Given the way it is now rumbling Barton is making out Warnock to be a bit rubbish.
Rather chuffed with Norwich's draw against Chelsea at Carrow Road. Things do indeed seem to be rather favourable for surviving the drop. Also...have yet to hear anything about dodgy decisions. Conspiracy is currently on hold pending tonight's MOTD.

Teams full of right footed players aren't as exotic. Oh no, are we committing a hate crime against right footed players? Secretly I am right footed, but I hide it by using my left foot alot because I'm too ashamed.
After that game it seems they aren't defending on the pitch very well either. Beat 3-1 by Bolton.
I wonder if they sit at night staring out windows and pining for each other. I thought Johnson would have been a great signing for Wolves this season but it seems I was wrong.
Now Tevez has failed to agree terms with PSG. The window doesn't appear to be open far enough for him.
Indeed, the US is where past it players go to earn a final pay packet when no high paying teams will have them in Europe. It might help some of the younger US players coming through but are they going to be training the way they used to when they were at the top of their game? Top players at their peak won't go there because theres no prestige from playing there.
I just read the whole thing. To me it looks like Barton gave the game away that he was talking behind Warnocks back, Warnock never mentioned him or anyone talking too much. He just said that some players were phoning the chairman or Tweeting and that can poision the chairmans views. Which to me is a fair enough comment given footballers love of blaming everyone but themselves. But Barton automatically taking umbrage leads me to believe he did it and he knows he did it. He claims Warnock singled him out but thats not in any of the quotes I saw. He is a nothing player addicted to the attention Twitter brings him and Mark Hughes would be wise to ban him from it.
I tried to watch the Norwich game but ended up arguing with an O2 "guru" the whole way through it about my phone problem. Looked like a decent match and Torres seemed to miss an absolute sitter. Lukaku looked decent from what little I saw. MotD it is I suppose.
After that game it seems they aren't defending on the pitch very well either. Beat 3-1 by Bolton.

Ah... It is likely we are discriminating towards those of a right footed persuasion who have yet to accept their natural talent on the field. I believe we should start a campaign to make people aware of such discrimination so players don't have to face such problems in future; it will also show that we are not prejudiced in a severe way. We should like to state that we apologise for any harm we have caused due to our careless comments regarding people of a right footed persuasion; we have now seen the error of our ways and seek to redeem ourselves and seek forgiveness for our ignorance.
Interesting that Dalglish has essentially slated his players. The whole 'founded on respect' thing was interesting given what has happened recently. But, boy, that was poor from Liverpool to lose to a woefully below-par this season Bolton.
I get the image of them now at their respective windows with 'All by myself' playing in the background....
There was a mention of PSG needing to make sacrifices (virgin sacrifices or something a little more mundane?) in order to sign him. I'm guessing that Tevez is requesting wages that are unrealistic; I would guess he, or his advisors, are pricing him out of a move with their demands. I wonder if Tevez is being paid wages from Man City though; if he is I'm not surprised they would do this.
The US isn't the only destination it would seem; though it probably is the most prominent. Forgotten which team in China are trying to get Drogba, and...which Australian team got Fowler? Then there are teams in the Middle East as well I think. Mind you, it might be easier for some players to move to where they know the language as well.
Warnock was very broad in his comments and wasn't singling anyone out; but you're right that Barton responding like that is very telling. Apparently Warnock isn't going to comment on the issue any more.
I recall one dodgy decision in the Norwich-Chelsea match; not enough to keep the conspiracy in full focus though. Pretty chuffed with the result.
Scorelines last night on MOTD2 were more modest this time round. Oxlade-Chamberlain looked really nifty on the field and...well...his substitution certainly drew a reaction from various people at the game. Beginning of the end for Wenger? On that, what has happened to Arshavin in recent times? He seemed really good when he first arrived and has progressively gotten worse it would seem.
What do you think of the Balotelli incident on Parker? I'm caught on the fence on that one as I can sort of see why some think it's intentional, but I can also see it as being an accident as well. It's a tough call. Lescott was also very lucky in that match as well. Can see why The Iron Gerbil would be annoyed, though there is the whole tax thing and the day in court for him as well.....

Too late, Liverpool players have already started wearing tshirts with your avatar's face. Kenny has proclaimed my innocence despite me just admitting to it. Even though I didn't do it, in my country right footed people are discriminated against to make them feel more special. So I did it but I didn't do it. Thats my story, don't ask Dirk Kuyt.
You intrigued me there and I had to seek out that Dalglish story. Its also interesting given his complaints that ref's don't respect Liverpool that I vaguely seem to remember. I saw most of the match and Liverpool were woeful, their worst performance of the season that I've seen. I think next weekend we face them and they can boo Evra for disrespecting Nice-man Suarez.
I'd assume thats the case with Tevez, he assumed PSG would hand over £250k a week. Interesting question on wether City are paying him, considering they have been unable to hold a hearing into him going awol I think that means they are still paying him.
Qatar can get players in their prime by paying unreal money it seems. Australia is a strange one, I can't think of anyone other than Fowler going there and his career was pretty much dead. Has he retired? China seems to be a new one. There was three teams linked with Drogba including the one that got Anelka.
Give it a month and Warnock will be bleeting again. He doesn't seem to react well to failure. If its getting Barton more attention then I'd expect him to try and keep it going.
First time in months I've enjoyed watching United. Well I've enjoyed it but the sloppiness has left a bitter taste, everyone bar Rooney played well yesterday. Is there a better out and out winger than Valencia? Evra while hardly being tested defensively was excellent, best he has played in about two years now. Arsenal fans don't deserve to win anything, they are a hateful bunch and not the first time they booed their own team. Mediawatch pointed out that they were unhappy when he signed and now unhappy when he is subbed. Bunch of clowns. I can't explain Arshavin at all, he was always hot and cold but now just seems cold.
At first I thought it was an accident because normally when he does something nuts he goes all stroppy and reacts like a mentalist. But as Alan Curbishley pointed out theres way too much force for it to be an accident. It's awkward and I'm only about 80% sure he did it. Lescotts looked very much on purpose.
Did you hear what The Iron Gerbil actually got caught doing? I laughed hard.

We're in for it now then. I shall have to claim cultural misunderstandings and misinterpretations of what I said from what I meant to say.
Yeah, it's interesting to see 'respect' being bandied about so often in connection to Liverpool of late. The fun of the situation would be which players would be shipped out due to disrespecting their opponents should Dalglish actually carry that forth. Next week's match will be a doozy.
At the very least it would seem that Tevez isn't really concerned with playing football at the moment; given how much he has earned in his career to date you'd think money wouldn't really be an issue. I suspect he is still paid wages, and while he's AWOL he gets to play golf and goodness knows what else to his fancy.
Probably just Fowler then it would seem. How old is he now? I would think he has retired. Mind you, I think one of the Russian clubs also has a lot of money; so maybe one or two players would make that move as well.
Blimey, more from the Twitter (pretty sure we should replace that 'i' with a different vowel) user and Warnock? Not sure I'd be able to handle that.
Valencia was impressive. The commentary on MOTD2 was interesting as well. For all extents and purposes Arshavin should be moved on really just to get him off the wage bill. Also...Benayoun probably would have been a better choice for sub. In terms of form Benayoun has been more consistent than Arshavin.
It's a difficult one to interpret. What makes me think it could be accidental overall is the first instance when he lowers his foot down on Parker's hand. Balotelli's reaction was to then withdraw that foot off of Parker, and then there was the foot coming down on his head. That initial bit makes me question that if Balotelli was out to just be malicious then why withdraw his foot off of Parker's hand at the time. The angle of the foot to the head reminded me of Rooney's backwards moving foot into Carvalho's groin. So that does look dodgy and intentional.
Hm...after a few more replays it does look more intentional to me now. The way he strikes the ball and is off balance means his right leg really had to go forward rather than back. (He didn't withdraw the initial foot on hand as much as I thought as well.) Lescott was on purpose as far as I'm concerned. No reason for sticking an arm out like that really.
Searched the BBC news site for The Iron Gerbil and it is funny. Then it dawned on me that it feels like his dog earns more than I ever have.....

By right footed I meant the correct foo...oh god..
It's become a bit of an obsession with that lot. Some of the fans are starting to turn on Dalglish, kind of inevitable when he didn't deliver them back to their "rightful" place straight away. I still think he will walk out again despite engineering the situation to get back in the hot seat. I'd start by shipping out whoever was supposed to track midfield runners, I suspect Gerrard was the culprit.
Tevez now says he is holding out for a move to AC Milan who aren't willing to buy him. Its his dream apparently. When he's leaving to "be closer to home" and joining Inter or Juve this talk will all be forgotten.
I'd say Fowler is well into his 30's, he was a few years older than Owen as far as I remember. 35 or 36? He is kind of the proto-Torres in that he was great and then a bit sh*t.
I read something about Arshavin sells the second most replica print shirts of any Arsenal player. Maybe thats why they stick with him? He is one of those players that can destroy a team or do absolutely nothing, he seems to favour the latter recently, getting booed probably won't help. I wasn't aware Benayoun was even playing at all, I'd not heard much of him.
I didn't even notice Ballotelli standing on Parkers hand, I noticed the first time his standing leg hit Parker he kind of looked down then the stamp came. It was done so awkwardly too, I'll stick with Curbishley's interpretation that the velocity of his foot coming down is telling.
He has been charged by the FA now but Lescott hasn't. Ref must have seen Lescott's and said it wasn't a red card.
Ha I hadn't thought of that perspective, depressing.
Some cracking goals scored at the weekend, I couldn't even pick the best of them.
I wish Danny Welbeck would grow a big moustache so he could look even more like the guy from American Ninja. He reminded me of him a few times yesterday.

We apologize for any upset we may have caused if and only if we have offended people by our usage of words.
Crikey. What would happen if Dalglish tried to ship Gerrard out? I would expect someone to be lynched. To think that Gerrard played as a defensive midfielder all those years ago.
I'm not so sure that it is his dream as it seems more likely that he is dreaming.
I half suspect that Tevez doesn't understand language let alone English. Surely he should know what 'closer to home' is, because he would know that Italy is a bit further away from Argentina than England.
Seems that Fowler will be 37. Not that old, but it would depend on the level and ability of the player in question. And...proto-Torres. Reminds me of Ron Manager that does: "Is George Best the old Ryan Giggs?"
Really? Hm...that might explain things, and I expect those sales to be from Russia as well rather than domestically. Otherwise I will be baffled (and I'm plenty baffled by default anyway). Also...Benayoun is at Arsenal though doesn't seem to get much playing time.
It was very awkward and at real time speed it can look accidental. Only after goodness knows how many times I checked out that incident that it started to look intentional; and that's only because if he was off balance and swinging around there's no way his right leg would have gone back to regain balance: his right leg would have swung round and forward. At least that's how someone trying to regain their balance would do it I presume.
But yep, he has been charged. And we get the whole 'Balotelli is being persecuted' interpretation coming out. Persecuted? However the incident is seen, accidental or intentional, Parker was still hit by Balotelli.
Seeing that some wealthy people leave their fortune to their pets perhaps The Iron Gerbil could suggest that the account is actually opened for his dog. The new stuff on the tax evasion case is interesting as there seems to have been a misunderstanding between The Iron Gerbil and Mandaric concerning the ah...'bonus' The Iron Gerbil was given. Hm...and that he didn't know anything about the money in that account in his dog's name because he thought it was dormant. Lovely stuff.
Twas some good stuff on the weekend. Only a few more days to go....
A moustache? Hm.... Actually...another look-a-like?

We want everyone to drop this but can't stop talking about it ourselves.
I think he'd get away with it at first but every bad result it would haunt him. Wait, Gerrard defensive midfield? What did I miss? He can barely play CM at all, thats why him and Lampard had so many issues, neither of them would play the holding role. Bet I'm being thick and not picking up on sarcasm.
Aye but logic doesn't seem to bother the Tevez camp(camp? sounds odd) at all. He is also not being paid and fined 6 weeks wages apparently http://www.football3...over-Tevez-deal I'm also liking where this is going, kind of.
Old enough by most players standards. It was a long time ago when he was even a decent striker. Isn't it, wasn't it, mmm? Marvelous. Jumpers for goal posts, whats that? Goaly is wanted for his tea?...
I really don't understand Arsenal at the best of times if I'm honest. Trying to figure out why they do anything is often beyond me.
I agree. Only the speed of his leg and the way it goes in the wrong direction offer any real clue, I can't think of a single reason he would have stamped it behind him like that.
Agreed again, what if it caught his face or throat? Lescott's was probably worse I think, did Webb say he saw it or are England internationals allowed to elbow anyone they want in the face? Rooney got away with it last year.
A misunderstanding or two seperate sets of lies? They should have got their stories straight by now. I think the defence starts tomorrow so it should be interesting.
Aye, but it was only a few times I noticed the resemblance.
I'd like to know the rules on diving after Rooney threw himself to the ground in the box claiming a penalty and the ref just said no on Sunday. Surely thats diving.
Will a big club ever take a chance on Clint Dempsey?

We shall endeavour to stop speaking about people who can't use their right foot. D'Oh!
Pretty sure that way, way back when Gerrard used to play in that position. I think there was an attempt to play him there again during Benitez's stint and Gerrard said that he can't do it any more as he hadn't played there in years. I recall Gerrard got quite a few cards back in the day for his challenges; and I believe there was an over the top two-footed lunge as well. But with Dalglish at the moment...hm....doesn't look like he will be there for a long time. Interesting to see the thought that Ferguson will outlast all the other top 6 managers on F365 the other day.
Seen this or something similar yet, Druss? That seems to suggest that Tevez had at some point continued to receive wages. Goodness knows who Tevez and his special friends think will take their side of the argument if they want to contest Man City's position further. Also interesting to see that the chairman has essentially made in clear in no uncertain terms that he leaves only on their say-so and on their conditions; otherwise he'll be left to rot. While I think the moral majority would cheer and applaud such a stance I would wonder with the FFP regulations coming in as to how viable it would be for the club to do that. Still, we can dream. Oh, I also had to chuckle at the claim on Tevez's behalf that it isn't about the money.
Someone scraped their knee? Here's mummy to come along and kiss it better.... *cough*
Not understanding Arsenal probably amounts to most supporters' stance of not understanding Wenger at the moment. Could get ugly.
Yeah, the direction was all wrong. And the ban is correct in that respect. Had he (for some reason I had typed 'it' beforehand) hit Parker somewhere else more vulnerable I don't think the ban would have been much different. The only thing in Balotelli's 'defence' that I could mention is that he was opportunistic whereas Lescott was intentional. I think it's an England player thing as all England players are honest hard working people who have never wronged anyone in their life. *Cough* Then we get the inconsistency problem coming up again.
Could be either, though I am reading it as The Iron Gerbil trying to absolve himself of any wrong doing and placing the blame squarely on Mandaric, 'cause The Iron Gerbil be an 'onest geezer, guv, and the next England manager, doncha know? *Ahem* It certainly doesn't look like they are on the same page anyway. There was one line from The Iron Gerbil though about him always paying his taxes; I wonder if anyone will retort with the line "you paid your taxes, but did you declare all your income and pay the correct amount of taxes?" This trial is interesting to say the least. I also suspect more dirty linen and all that.
Ah well....still might be the sort of thing that would work on the site.
Maybe...Sundays are special days so a different set of rules apply? Or is it the England/foreign player distinction coming into play as someone suggested in the F365 inbox?
Dempsey's finishing at the weekend was classy. Mind you, some players never seem to get that chance at the bigger clubs. Before Tim Cahill's recent slump over the last couple of seasons or so he seemed like a really good player, managing to find that bit of space in the box from a deadball situation and putting it in the back of the net. Even during his best days there were never any transfer rumours about him leaving Everton that I recall. I think Dempsey might be one of these players who will get overlooked.

Our stance was correct and we can't see everyones problem or why they insist on talking about it just because we are still talking about it.
I remember when he came through he was talked about as a DM but I thought they quickly abandoned that idea when it became apparent he had the tactical awareness and teamwork of a dead salmon. Was the two footed lunge you're thinking of thigh high and against Everton?
Wouldn't be surprised if Sir Alex did outlast them all. Wouldn't be surprised if he continued to manage from beyond the grave either.
Hhmmm, similar story but contradictory on wether or not Tevez is still being paid. I like the stance of the chairman but your right about FFP and theres also Tevez possibly going outside sport and making claims about human rights. Wouldn't be surprised if he is trying to recoup all that cash with a signing on fee wherever he goes and thats why PSG pulled out. Just read the bit about Tevez agreeing not to be paid since November, um thats quite the spin on refusing to turn up to work. SSN also have a guy on claiming that if Tevez isn't given an opportunity to play in 10% of City's games, hows that work when he is in Argentina? Bet he is getting jobseekers over there too.
The claims that Webb seen it are a bit misplaced too, it happened fast and he would have had to have been looking directly at Ballotelli's feet the whole way through the incident, you can't expect the ref to see all that while the ball is still in play. Ballotelli's agent did him no favours either with his speech, he is only young and will make mistakes but he doesn't seem to learn anything at all, its just constant with him and I think the agent could be partly responsible. Did the FA explain why Lescott wasn't charged too?
Did you read today's "why always me" quotes from The Iron Gerbil? It made absolutely no sense. Discriminated against because his name is 'Arry, except his name isn't 'Arry, its Henry and he calls himself 'Arry. Then claiming The Copper Rat was a top player out of the blue. Why was he getting bonuses for selling players? It seems counter productive, do all managers get that? I've no clue whats going on with it anymore. Which I think may be his goal.
I really don't know the rule, why was Torres being tripped and going down last week a dive and booking but Rooney going down after barely being touched just play on? Charlie Adam has been caught several times with no booking. Does it only apply to dirty foreigners?
I likened Dempsey to Arteta, but you might be closer with Cahill. I wouldn't object to United signing him, with our wingers and his ability to arrive in the box then he would get a fair few goals. Don't think he would be first choice but a decent option to have. He has been a stand out player for a few seasons now and I'm surprised no one has taken a punt. He is atleast as good as Lampard, if he was English....

Alright guys, so how has the premiership been doing? I watched the highlights for the weekend's fixtures, and there were some interesting results. Little fun fact for ya, but they actually aired the Man U-Arsenal match on free over the air telivision. It was a little surreal, but they had the commentators straight from the UK. Real bang on job.
Obaka, speaking of Dempsey, do you know his life story is actually really interesting? He grew up really poor, and his parents (as well as himself) took great sacrifices so he could play football. He has always struck me as really easy going and down to earth.
Druss, is 'Arry's real name Henry, and he calls himself 'Arry? lol, ohh, got a good laugh out of that. Good ol' 'Arry. lol
Drum roll please......did anybody see the last two Barca-Madrid Clasicos? Madrid defended really well, but how can you withstand the attack that is Barcelona? The second leg was something that I haven't really seen before from Barcelona...and that is that they were playing bad. Madrid began attacking well enough, but were unlucky in finding the net, and as for Barcelona, well what's the saying, it only takes a second to score?
To be honest, they were two wonderfull plays by Barcelona, but for my money, Madrid was the story here this time. Ozil, who has quickly become one of my favorites, knows how to distribute the ball perfectly to his teammates. Though Mourinho has favored Higauin in these last two matches, Benzema has been playing really well. Madrid still needs a strong attack. Where Xavi is the creator of so many attacks on Barcelona, Madrid need that kind of person in their own midfield.
Barcelona were pretty bad today actually. They must have been tired or something, cause they looked beat out there. They weren't running so much to get in support, and generally looked uninspired. If I were Mourinho, I would experiment with attacking, because against a team like Barcelona, if you just defend, defend, defend...they will find a way to score, no doubt about it.

Football (soccer) is greater than American football
...but due to the large amount of media the US controls, as a Canadian you would be inclined to think the latter.
Soccer is the only really popular world sport, the US seems to not show interest in it as much, mostly because their team sucks
(but who am I to talk lol)

Watching paint dry is often better than watching American Football. My brother loves it but I've never been able to get into it. I get bored of it really quickly.
It was revealed at the trial that The Iron Gerbil's real name is Henry James(I think it was James anyway) so I assume he is the one telling people he's called 'Arry. Now being called 'Arry is something you can be discriminated against for(this sentence is very awkward...). Today's defence included claims that he can barely read or write and is basically a simpleton, he didn't even know what bank he went to. He writes a newspaper column...
I only saw a bit of the Barca - Real match and Barca looked a mixture of panicked and knackered in the parts I saw. Yet Real still failed to beat them which just added to the comedy of it all.

We shall not speak of this shameful incident about what we said about players being unable to use their right foot to kick a ball....ah [expletive deleted]
Crikey. It was so long ago I can't remember in all honesty, so I'll just go with a maybe....? I don't think it was thigh high, but it certainly was over the ball though.
He'll probably show them whipper-snappers how to build a team over a long period of time. Mind you, the only manager amongst that little group who have stayed at a single club for a long time is Wenger. Likelihood is the others won't really need to know how to build a team as they'll be long gone.
Well...I suppose Blanka is human..... If he's getting JobSeekers he would need to be actively looking for work; and I don't really think he's been doing that. Also, while he may categorize himself as a professional football player I wouldn't be surprised if his signing-in person suggested that he put down professional sportsman. In which case they'll probably try and get him to play another sport. Oh...and they'll probably also try and get him to try his hand at retail as well....
Far too difficult a judgement to make in real time. A touch difficult in slowmo as well. Can't blame Webb for not doing anything at the time. It also seems like some of these young players are surrounded by...questionable characters. Not that good for the game really. Didn't see any mention of the Lescott incident. I'm guessing one of those things.
I originally thought The Iron Gerbil was trying to be Balotelli with that. I think his claim of The Copper Rat being a top player could be justified by extending the claim that 'he is a top player compared to Rosie' or something.
It looks that way.
Dempsey would be a better punt than Carroll that's for sure. And if he were English....well....he'd be close to the best player evah! I think some scouts or managers are perhaps a little 'blind' to players who aren't English or aren't playing for the big clubs. So if a good player isn't English and plays for a smaller club, they aren't afforded the chance as much.
Dempsey seems like a nice enough fellow. Making sacrifices in order to play football though....hm....that's a tough thing to have gone through; but at least he is justified for having pursued it given his success.
I keep hearing some nasty incidents whenever those two teams play each other. Do they play much football? As for Mourinho...sounds like he could leave at the end of the season.
I'm sure Americans would show more interest in football if the game was played in quarters no longer than 20 minutes in duration, and there's also more entertainment during the breaks. Blatter at one point was putting a case forward about a change; just as well everyone else was against it. I don't know about baseball, but the other sports that are popular in the States seem to have a fair bit of stoppage.
EDIT: The Iron Gerbil writes like a two year old is what I read. So....his accountant is his mum? Might as well be from the claims I read.

We'd like to move on by stating that our grandparents were right footed.
Well Blanka seems to be looking for work with AC Milan. I hope he gets one of the smug ones who blames him for his lack of employment and attempts to imply that he could walk out and start a job that afternoon if he really wanted one. There was new claims today about his future but I just couldn't be bothered reading them, I'm tired of him for this week.
Back to agents being bad for the game it seems.
The Iron Gerbil continued his claims today with stories of bad business deals. He can't even turn on a computer, yet he can play the Wii...
It seems that way, maybe they don't think they have the mental ability to play at a bigger club.
Eugh don't get me started on "El classico" even what little I watched was hard to stomach. The diving and trying to get each other booked is beyond ridiculous.
Why is Anton Ferdinand being encouraged to shake John Terry's hand? Wasn't Blatter being called a racist idiot for suggesting such a thing?
Looks like I was right about Samba, he said he agreed to stay when Venky's made promises about signings and investing money like the Ronaldinho promises. They failed to deliver and now he wants to leave. Atleast he is being upfront about the alledged promises and not just saying "promises" then refusing to elaborate.

And ancestors were as well....
Starting to not give a monkey's about Blanka as there hasn't been anything funny of late. (Staying at Man City seems more likely to be honest as AC have apparently given up.)
To be fair there are probably perfectly (?) decent agents working in the game who don't come up in the news columns. Those that do probably are the bad ones who make them look bad. My thought is a good agent is not known to those outside of the profession; sort of how well a referee does their job when they become unnoticeable.
The Iron Gerbil can't write and fritters away his earnings for other people and causes. If he's so incompetent at these things then...what does that do for the Wii's reputation?
That is certainly a possibility. Mind you, most players would have been in that position at some point I think; so it still requires being offered a chance to succeed. Valencia was at Wigan before he joined Man Utd, wasn't he? Though all non-EU nationals have to have played goodness knows how many games for their national team before being allowed a work permit which may indicate their pedigree. Hm...why do I feel that I've just shot myself in the foot?
Er....the people suggesting the handshake think that Blatter was right perhaps? Or are we back to double standards again? Also...the unsavoury stuff has happened to Anton Ferdinand now (a bullet in the post). What is it with Chelsea and death threats?
At least Samba has been honest about it, so fair play to him. Interesting to note that he doesn't say or suggest he'll go on strike, just that he doesn't feel that he can give it his all. Better than Torres who mentions the vague thing about promises but doesn't reveal any details.
FA Cup tomorrow. Should be a few good matches there.
