In no way I still thought England as an favourite, the most likely was objectively Russia (for me Netherlands/Belgium ofcourse)Druss99 wrote...
I like the idea of the world cup in Russia. In Soviet Russia football plays you.
Sky Sports News has turned into comedy gold. They have been declaring England favourites since yesterday and are now up in arms because they didn't win, they are even talking about an inquest. Its like the world cup allover again. Thank god this is over now though it was disgusting watching the politics at work.
England didn't even survive the 1st round and in the second round we got 2 votes, Spain/Portugal got 7 and Russia 13
But with Qatar we still have some succes since Ronald de Boer lobbyed for Qatar

I was wondering why Ronald de Boer looked so happy and why he kissed that surprised looking fat man on the lips lol.

@ Darthnemesis2 I saw the Liverpool game but I put the result down to a mixture of luck and voodoo. Liverpool look a better team without Gerrard you know. I've been saying it for years he takes away far more than he gives to a team if he isn't scoring every game.

Do the South American teams take the Club WC seriously or just think of it as a distraction? Theres mixed feelings about it here.

You know that that is a lame excuse some European teams came up with to justify their loss, right? It's always been the maximum glory a team can achieve and any winner team and fans can verify that. And I bet my ass that European teams take it very seriously. They cry a lot when they lose despite the coach then saying it was just "a distraction". But when they win they celebrate as much as the UCL title that took them there!

I don't know, I wouldn't call any of the goals luck. I will concede that Villa played like crap, but Liverpool truly dominated much of the play. As for playing better without Gerrard, I can't really speak to that as I don't really get to watch many of the games unless they're online.

Then FIFA had to get their dirty hands on it and started adding lousy teams to call it a "tournament" and moved the match away from Tokyo for what$v$r reason. But it is still a two team playoff with one final match. Europe vs S. America.
And I disagree with you. It is the hardest title to win. Or you really think all the UCL champs that lost it throughout history went there in vacation? Besides the $$$ prize, it is a lot more prestigious title around the World than Europe championship alone. At least for those not in Europe perhaps.

Sshh as a United fan I simply can't give Liverpool any credit for anything lol. I have had this theory on Gerrard for years he is far too Hollywood and rarely stays in position I find it hard to call a player who actually doesn't seem tactically capable of playing in any position world class. I think he is the reason Benitez played so defensively to cover for his tactical ineptness.
@ RageGT to sum up how its thought of over here I can remember the last two times United won the Champions League I can remember exactly where I was but I can't remember how we did in the Club WC. Maybe its different in the rest of Europe but here domestic competitions and European competitions are bigger, but thats also because it so rarely features teams from the UK. Its very insular here.
EDIT:I just checked and apparently we won one Club WC and lost one. I vaguely remember Ryan Giggs winning a car for a man of the match performance. I have no idea why European teams don't do well in it maybe some rest their biggest players or can't handle playing in Japan too well or maybe South American teams are just better.
Edit to my Edit Having looked at the match reports for all the European teams that have played its definately not them fielding weakened teams. South American teams might just be better.

I've watched most of the matches since Cruzeiro x Bayern in 1976. Cruzeiro played better and lost. Not always the best team win, at least not the best team in that particular match. Liverpool lost to São Paulo in 2005 and played a lot better. But sometimes both teams were just great and the match was awesome.
Check a list of the winners. You'll see that some of the best teams ever also won the title. It is an important title. http://en.wikipedia....ation_football)

Note the disparity between his story and the clubs story. This is exactly the same as he did at United, wait for him to start bringing out more scapegoats over the next month or so. He will shamelessly blame everyone but himself and none of it will make any sense just more lies. He is also allegedly the highest paid player in Europe and still demanding more money.

Does it help you understand part of the reason why United fans hate him so much? lol. We have always had problems with Argentinians. Veron was a fantastic player but just never suited the style in England, Heinze was as bad as Tevez demanding stupid amounts of money that he had never done anything to earn. We seem to be having better luck with Brazilians, though not by much lol.
