I think thats some of the things that bothered Emerson at Middlesboro, Rage. Didn't seem to bother Juninho though. I recall Robinho hating it because of the night life and lack of beaches in Manchester.

Its not just a case of Arsenal not f*cking it up, they also need to hope Barca simply don't just tear them a new one. Remember last time when Messi hit four?

Looks like the shadow of the clowns that used to own Liverpool have been put to rest. The judge in the case seems to have ruled quite sensibly.

I'm a bit ignorant on the whole Hicks/Gillette situation what exactly did they do to get Liverpool fans so incensed in the first place? To me it just seemed like they made an investment and wanted to make their money back just like any other owner. Am I missing something?

Thats what I thought, Obaka's wording just made me think maybe I missed something when he was calling them clowns too.

Come on now Auto a proper owner who understood the history and prestige of the club would have given Rafa more money to bring in more world class players. Perhaps even ones that can play in the positions he was playing them and who weren't permanently injured or perhaps a rightback who can you know..... defend. £17m clearly isn't enough to get a half decent fullback. £200m is nothing to a club of Liverpools stature and history

I like the net spend argument where they imply he only spent something like £25m with crazy facts and figures.

Damn I didn't realise it was on channel 5, I've been watching it on Irish tv with a dodgy reception. They probably just said that to stop angry Scousers sending them letters complaining about bias and not respecting the history of the biggest club in the competition. Clearly Sparta will be overwhelmed by the atmosphere and prestige of playing in Anfield.

I didn't see alot of it I was flipping to the Rangers match for some unknown reason. It looked like a turgid awful game that Liverpool had no intention of trying to win. Theres obviously going to be excuses though such as no Gerrard or Carroll.

Carragher seems to think they have an advantage now too, I'm lost as to what that advantage is. I'm also very confused as to what those noises he is making are supposed to be.

Going back to the Liverpool thing for a moment let me explain why I used clowns. Sure they're businessmen (and pretty poor ones too by the looks of things if they don't realize that the club was worth less than when they bought it due to lack of success but still try to flog it for more). The situation was so laughable you'll almost pity the fans. (I said 'almost'. )

You remember their last ditch efforts to prevent the sale, right? If not you missed out on a lot of comedy material during all that kerfuffle. They tried to get a Texan court to prevent the sale of an English asset. What sort of idiot does that? Sorry, that's just beyond stupidity. What jurisdiction does American law have on English law? Seriously, why not just find a country that will take your side and launch a lawsuit from there; any country, just not where it actually matters. Better yet, buy an island and claim its independence. Create your own laws and launch a lawsuit. (Actually....)

They provided us with many a chuckle as the fans protested and all that (ah...we're going to miss those), but their attempts at legal action just smacks of stupidity.

Oh, and given current form I'd half expect the crowd to start waving banners to get the manager/owners out as they haven't won a trophy yet.

EDIT: on reflection I really shouldn't have used 'clowns'. Apologies to clowns everywhere. They're actually as stupid as pandas. No, wait, that's insulting to pandas. No. I can't find anything appropriate to describe their stupidity.

I remember that happening but I didn't pay it much attention at the time because I was somewhat distracted by the sheer comedy of this...

the comments alone are utter brilliance. When it first came out I recall talking to a taxi driver about it, he had to pull over so we could finish laughing. I've also started laughing again to the point my face hurts.
