*Sigh* Them were the glory days. And...it would be a bugger if we lost.
Redknapp for England? Well...depends how he handles the players. The thought he polarizes his players came up a while back, but perhaps those he likes can do a job. Goodness knows what the England squad needs (certainly not a Gerrard and Lampard partnership in the middle).

I believe he won't be able to handle the pressure, he won't be able to fall back on "look at me I'm a wheeler dealer, pie and mash, jellied eels, I'm a geezer innit" schtick to his buddies in the media. As soon as he becomes England manager and theres a bit of blood in the water they will come looking for his head and he will start passing the buck like he always does.

I can get behind that notion. The Olly for England campaign starts here! The PL won't be the same if they get relegated.
Don't get me wrong on some levels I want to see Redknapp as England manager. Mostly because 1. I'm Irish and 2. I like to laugh at things. But on another level hes a self important scumbag who has been campaigning shamelessly for another mans job and I don't want to see him rewarded with it. Plus I think he's a sh*t manager who has lucked out with Spurs and I can't stand the lying turd.

I'd take it aslong as my contract stipulated that I was to be given a shotgun, all the shells I wanted and no questions were ever to be asked about the wherabouts of certain players.

I think you need to take a trip to the Blue Oyster bar and think about what you've said Auto.
In any case I refuse to speculate on another managers job, its a wonderful job and I'd love to have it, I could never turn it down and I believe I'm the right man for the job and I can see where this foreign blokes problems are, English manager for England but as I say I won't talk about another managers job, no chance. I wouldn't turn it down and it would be a dream come true, that foreign fella couldn't say the same, he doesn't know how we play and they don't like it up 'em. But I wouldn't talk about another managers job its disrespectful innit. T'riffic innit.

What? No. Never. What a load of rubbish! I've said it before this will be my last job in football, I'm happy here why would I want to leave? No way would I leave. I'd never join that lot down the road. Load of rubbish! Not 'appening mate. They are a top top team but I'm happy here.
Whats that? More money? I'll get me coat then.

Aye just saw that. *OLLIE FOR ENGLAND*
Gronkjaer had a fantastic dive tonight in the Chelsea game, I'd give it a 7 out of 10 because when first looking at it it seemed to be a foul. But replays showed it was nowhere near the defender. Torres is playing well too but looks to be lacking confidence infront of goal. Maybe hes one of those players who has to be the main man before he can really perform.

Hm...wonder if managers motivate by repeatedly saying "you da man!" to get their players to perform. Be funny if any of them did do that.
And...oh goody, more Tevez future uncertainty.

I can just picture Wenger saying that then offering a really awkward high five and gang symbols.
There was two Tevez stories I saw doing the rounds today one about him going back to Corinthians and the uncertainty one. Although I don't think he has said anything himself, suppose its hard to speak from inside Chris Smallings pocket.

I fancied our chances until I saw our midfield. Lack of creativity was the first thought in my mind when I saw those three. Being proved right so far. Trying to do Scholes as next goal scorer and bookies are arsing me around.

Hm...an away draw isn't too bad a result. Just have to win at home.
#695
Posté 23 février 2011 - 10:16
I didn't hear anyone declaring we have the advantage now the way they did after Liverpool's 0-0 away draw. If anything we are at a disadvantage as a 1-1 draw would eliminate us.Our midfield worries me, when Scholes and Giggs aren't playing we have no creativity at all and tend to rely on Nani or Berbatov to win us the game.

Having to win at home can be a sense of false security. And you're right, a draw with goals would be the end of any hope of getting to the final.
Giggs has signed for another year, and last I read Ferguson wants Scholes to play on as well.

Have either of them even got another year left in them though? I think we will be investing in midfielders in the summer. Fletcher is good on his day but just a workhorse, Anderson has promise, Hargreaves has effectively retired, I could do what Gibson does, Carrick disapears in big games and the Scholes/Giggs combo is on its last legs. We have good wingers but they are pretty much all right wingers.
Another special european night at Anfield tonight.

Yeah....one of 'those' nights for 'them'.
True about Giggs and Scholes. Though in a sense it sort of indicates the problem with Man Utd's midfield as you pointed out earlier; no one seems to be stepping up. Though Nani has been pretty good since Ronaldo left it has to be said.
Mind you, there's also the issue of van der Sar's replacement as well. Could be quite an important period for the team. Shame about Hargreaves though; still think back to that one England game where he was the only player with any fight left in him.

I used to want to set Nani on fire and put him out with my foot. But he has proven me wrong and come on leaps and bounds this last calendar year, he is still very inconsistant though but I think that might come with time as he's still not that old. Our big problem is he rarely plays well on the left and we can't play him and Valencia who has been brilliant since we signed him on the same wing. Although if you combine all their best qualities you essentially get the hispanic Andrei Kanchelskis.
I don't see why Kuczak doesn't get a chance in goal, he has played a fair few games and never let us down. Hopefully its not a repeat of trying to replace Schmeichel. I always like Hargreaves and refuse to give up hope on him coming back. But he pulled his hamstring in what was it November? He hasn't been seen since which is a very bad sign. They don't even mention him anymore.
