That has to be the weirdest thing I've seen. Though just to be awkward...*cough* there was contact. And I thought the Rivaldo thing was bad; we just call him 'he who covers his face'.

It was an act of genius, that man should be given some sort of medal. He's my new hero and I don't even know his name.
What happened Rivaldo was that a fly flew into his mouth just as the ball was hitting him, the combined trauma of those two things knocked him to the floor.

Druss, you sure it was a fly and not just a puff of air? (Or maybe a nasty player gave him a look.) Just wondering as I've noticed car alarms go off when a leaf passes by.

It could have been any of those OBaka but I also wouldn't rule out a psychic attack perpetrated by sharks from the future, mental illness, toothache, voodoo, a butterfly on the far side of the planet flapping its wings, Chuck Norris, invisible ninja's, hypnosis, drug abuse, George Bush or being a cheating swine. But the last one just seems a bit too far fetched.

Agreed. Given the list I think it had to be the power of Chuck Norris.

I'd agree except well Rivaldo survived it, so it couldn't have been Chuck Norris.

Oooo....a few good wins today. Chuffed that Norwich won, and a cracking second goal in that match.

Were you at the match OBaka?
I'd say QPR to win the championship and the battle for second to go down to the wire. Good to see Leeds getting beat today.
Just saw some highlights of the United match and how Rooney didn't get sent off I don't know. He continues to be a disgrace. Nani on the left is bloody frustrating too, he cuts in to shoot every time he gets the ball, only way to get him to cross is force him down the wing with passes. Hernandez has been a brilliant signing though and I think I might lay down some cash on him to be top scorer next season.

Can't afford to attend matches. Caught some highlights on Football Focus when I got in. Looks like a really sweet goal too. Any rival being beat is good, but especially those involved locally, i.e., derby rivals.
(Cool, Portsmouth beat Ipswich!)
Heard about the Rooney incident but yet to see it. Also sounds like a few heated incidents in general today. Should be a good MOTD tonight.

Bah I've missed most of match of the day, just tuned in during the Everton-Sunderland game. Every time I see Louis Saha I lament for what could have been. Easily one of the best strikers in the league if he can stay fit but he is so injury prone its unreal. I reckon he could have been one of the best strikers in Europe if it wasn't for all his injury problems.

It was a hell of a strike, great first touch and fantastic finish. If it had been Rooney or Gerrard people would be raving about it.
Speaking of Rooney what did you all think of his elbow on McCarthy?
Hoping to see a Birmingham win tomorrow.

Aye hes a scumbag, I hope we flog him in the summer to someone foolish enough to pay big bucks. He's been outshone this season by Berbatov and Hernandez anyway, we will have Wellbeck and Macheda back next season too, I say give them a chance and be gone with Rooney. He left Sir Alex having to defend the indefensable again yesterday. Although the ref did give a freekick so if he says he saw it then the FA can't really do much.
West Ham 2-0 up against Liverpool and looking good.

I didn't see where the ref was standing but it could have looked like Rooney just ran into him from his angle, but then why give a freekick? It was a strange one and how he remained on the pitch is mystifying.

Anyone watching Arsenal/Birmingham? Gunners making me lose faith in their ability to win this cup, been dreadful so far.
edit: and then I turn my back and we let a goal in! <_<

I've it on in the background but wasn't paying much attention til the goal went in. We will find out now what Arsenal are made of.

Poor Arsenal looking off today, losing 1-0 and all over the place.

1-1 rocky robin scores and taken out at same time.

Why didn't Johnson just let that go out for a throw in? He was risking the counter attack by keeping it in.

Yep 1-1 and Arsenal have finally got their game faces on!
