Everyone complains about injuries for the international games... exept for Jari Litmanen and Michael Owen, they're always fit for the internationals but never for the clubs.

On Bale: Well...if Bale is out, then Redknapp has a ready excuse of not achieving their apparent goals this season. "Wasn't my fault, guv!" If indeed the media is on his side then perhaps we'll see the old club versus country debate pop up again.

If this Wales - England game carries on in the same fashion in the second half its going to end up about 4 or 5-0 to England.

Three players crunching their back line in Rooney-Bent-Young their movement was really good, during the end of the match the players started tiring but it was deffinatly a step forward in the right direction.

Can't think of many midfielders England have who can take on the defensive role well. Cattermole comes to mind but is likely to be a liability due to his rather apparently frequent bookings. Hm...who else?

See the difference playing and changing to 4-3-3 made Druss, Capello got that spot on. Wales were poor on the day but England have made a start towards changing the formation and we totally controlled the first 70 minuets of the game, the midfield Parker-Lampard-Wilshere were excellent, even usually poor players like Glen Johnson excelled attacking the flanks.

Capello clearly reads this thread and has been stealing your ideas. We just need to figure out which of us is Capello in disguise....
From the bits that I saw Rooney seemed to be playing very deep and wide. Where did he start?
Speaking of English defensive midfielders, I just read a rumour that Owen Hargreaves has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. Went up for a header and damaged the ligaments when he landed.

Read that too, his hopes are always getting crushed when he's close to a comeback..... I think the best thing for him to do would be to retire.... I know a Swedish hockey player who refused to listen when his body said that it have had enough.

I think if it was his knees that kept going he would call it a day but its just been sheer bad luck with the last couple of injuries. Your likely to get niggling injuries when your just coming back but last time his hamstring went which was a couple of months and now its his shoulder. I think he might give it one more go and see if his knees can take it because thats where the real problem is.

We need a mildly attractive secretary to throw at him. If he attempts to hump her its Sven, if he throws her back and glares at us its Fabio.
Is Forsberg still playing in Sweden? I heard a few months ago that he was looking to come back to the NHL but I haven't really been following it much recently.

nobody asked for it, but here is an analysis of mexico-paraguay (first half anyway) and u.s-argentina
ok mexico did not play bad. that is to say, they had opportunities and capitalized on them. chicharito had two gols, nothing fancy, but the header looked like it was harder then it seemed. paraguay for some reason did not look good. their defense was lacking, and it was not the same paraguay we had seen in south africa. the gols http://bit.ly/hgxYWD
now the u.s. argentina game was a good one. intensity was that of a match that actually meant something! no hard tackles or anything like that, but it had a good pace and was a bit physical. argentina had a few good plays, and both teams defenses looked like they needed some work. messi had some great runs, howard had some great saves, and juan agudelo shows a bit of potential. (might or might not be becuase he is young, but he brought good energy to the team.)overall, neither team seemed much better than the other, and both looked rusty in some areas. also, the referee was really good, did not call the little things. http://bit.ly/dE1fal
and lets hope the england and ghana match is good, cause ghana were a pretty fun side to watch in the world cup

Do you know I would love it if Capello said "Yes Dawson he has made a position iz own, no? He will partner Rio Ferdinand, if he agrees to talk to me, yes?" I would love it, love it!
Ah cheers anyway Modjo. I thought it was supposed to be on last night, thats why I couldn't find it, caught some of the second half today and it went about as well as could be expected.
Chicharito has been a hell of a bargain at £6m but he still has a ways to go before he is the finished product. His passing and hold up play can be very sloppy, if you watch him then you will see alot of his passes go to players at around thigh height or are just generally very sloppy. He will get there though.
My favourite moment of the World Cup was when Ghana beat the US and the reaction on here. It was comedy gold.

Yep, this thread is about the most popular sport in the world.

He made two games for Colorado before he announced last month that he won't play any more hockey.
