Nice weekend of football I think.
Currently contemplating the usage of a Fernando Torres in the game of football.
EDIT: *Argh* Forum is playing up again.

I hate you all in slow motion, normal speed, fast forward, 3D, SD, HD, double D, 16:9, 4:3, surround sound, dolby digital, mono and infront of a live studio audience.
I seen a few sites declaring United champions already. We still have to play Chelsea and Arsenal away and haven't got the easiest of run ins. Its all a bit pre-mature.

lol at druss's comment
was seriously going to say the same thing about the arsenal liverpool match! i would tune in for like a couple minutes, then go and do something else (kinda boring), but luckily caught the end...which was absolutely crazy! it honestly didn't even seem like the two penalties were legitimate. arsenal do play nice, but they need someone who can and wants to score to make them more threatening up front.
the city and united match was pretty good actually. ballotelli didn't play too bad on saturday actually. also, i have seen him play for inter, and he can play alright, its only a matter if he wants to. he tends to rub people the wrong way, though personally, i think he makes the game more interesting (though how he works in a squad is a whole other issue).

Wouldn't Balotelli be one of these players that people would call 'a character'? Adds a bit of something to distract from the actual business of playing football...ooo...a bib.

What do you mean they weren't legitimate Modjo? You didn't think they were penalties?
Balotelli is one of those players I'd call a "tw@t" OBaka. I dunno if he loves the attention or he is just a simpleton, probably both.

you could definately call him a character obaka. thats how he was in italy, always getting people angry, saying things to get a rise out of people. now, he would say some pretty ridiculous stuff, but you kind of have to realize too, hey he is trying to get a reaction out of me, so you just have to let it brush past you. however, i bet if he dedicated himself to football, who knows how good he can get, but it looks like he just doesn't care about that. we'll see.

well, to be honest, they both didn't look too clear to be penalties. the replays showed that their was not really that much contact to warrent a penalty, but i could be wrong. looking back a day later though, it seems like a fair result, but wasn't that a little too much extra time?
and how about that scholes?! you were saying he has been that kind of player? (i have only been following football for a few years, and there is still a lot of history i don't know too much about.) also, there are rumors flying about mourinho again!

Balotelli: an attention seeking simpleton. Surely he should be on some reality TV show. Big Brother: Footballers Edition. Then the sequel could have WAGs or something.
Arsenal's penalty looked fairly clear on the replays; Liverpool's perhaps a bit soft but understandable. Probably a fair result in the end. If the title is dependent on that result though...boy, Liverpool fans wouldn't know how to feel.
So...any thoughts on the whole PFA awards thing? Feeling chuffed Norwich have two players (Hoolahan and Holt) in the Championship team.

He could be joined on that show by Mourinho and Robbie Savage I reckon.
I thought they were both clear penalties. Fabregas might have played for his a bit but Spearing still fouled him, Eboue ran right into the back of Lucas tripping him up, clear penalty to me. All he had to do was shepard him into the corner and stop him from getting the ball back into the box, the whistle was only seconds away.
Scholes has always been a dodgy tackler people go on about him having never learned to tackle and making excuses for him but he is quite simply vicious. He has been a great player, possibly the best English midfielder since Bobby Charlton but he lets himself down far too often and he is a liability when he is on the pitch. I said it before but when I see him in the starting line up these days I just think "aw sh*t theres a good chance we will be reduced to 10 men."
PFA thing: Its is a bit stupid how early they vote, weren't the votes cast back in January or something like that? Bale has had a good season but he has hardly played in the last couple of months, he also only has one assisst in the league whereas Nani had 18 last time I looked, I think they were all in the league anyway. I'd have thought Tevez or Vidic would have been better picks. Bale for young player of the year.
Berbatov made the team of the year, United fans are the only delusional tw@ts who would declare the leagues top scorer and the guy who has rescued us I don't know how many times this season not good enough for our team.

Big Brother: Footballers Edition....that wouldn't be too bad! you could also throw in some of the guys that like to sleep around with other women like terry. maybe throw in some of those tabloid writers who will start making up stuff and talking trash about some of the other people. and don't forget the ladies so we can have some love interests and drama, not too bad of a show!
yeah, the first penalty, well that was a difficult call, but the second was clearly not a penalty. maybe the ref was positioned wrong, who knows. hmm, what are the PFA awards?
edit: was on the guardian's site when they had this..... how come this does not recieve more coverage

Crikey! I've heard of extreme ironing but I always thought it was a joke; should have known better I suppose.
PFA is the Professional Footballers' Association. With something like the Player awards I believe they are voted for by their fellow players. This year the PFA player of the year is Gareth Bale; the young player of the year is Jack Wilshere. The main drawback I think is that nominations and votes were cast back in February.

I always assumed it was a joke too, I'd give it a go but the whole ironing thing puts me off.
http://www.football3...6881785,00.html This years team of the year.
Something is giving me the impression that Modjo is an Arsenal fan. I think its his insistance that that wasn't a penalty lol.
Theres apparently some premier league footballer having an affair with some welsh woman and has got the courts to hide his identity. Shall we take bets on who it is? lol.

Another player? You know, there is a point when this sort of thing is no longer news. Don't think the injunction will last long if the previous ones are to go by though.

Why do they do it? They know 9 times out of 10 the woman is going to go to the papers and sell the story. She is apparently getting £250k just for spilling the beans, she will get more for tv appearances and book deals not to mention the sudden rise in fame. Its the height of stupidity and everything thats wrong with society today.

True, I agree with you there, Druss. Mind you, the last Rooney encounter raised a quizzical look from myself when I read/heard a few details about this other woman. It became all the more bizarre as far as I'm concerned.
It was something about her not wanting to do it in his marital bed or something because it might upset Colleen. So she goes and blabs to the papers instead. Makes a lot of sense on the 'not wanting to upset the missus' vibe she was trying to generate.
And on proper football related matters: I find it a refreshing surprise to find that Stoke got to the FA Cup final by beating Bolton 5-0. Never thought they had it in them; always thought they were a more steady team with the odd goal in them. Nice.

Better yet Obaka.....have a WaG introduced into the house every 3 days....
As long as Terry in the house though...oh...and Bridge....might be worth watching rofl.

I can imagine when it would comes to the tasks 'bout half the footballers would suddenly start faking injuries just so they don't have to do the task.
Oh and a manager's Big Brother would be just as funny too, possibilities are endless...

What have we inadvertently unleashed upon the world if execs and producers check this thread.....
Actually with the managers' version we may want to introduce a ref in there for...variety. *Ahem*
Currently wondering whether Abramovich knows what is best for his club. Wondering who would pick up that particular job given the restraints that seem to be in place. And just who was it that suggested that 'Arry is in the frame for that job? Though I did see mention that he no longer wants the England job. Hm....

I'm going to vote for hungry bear again.
As for who would suggest 'Arry being in the frame, I suspect as per usual it would be 'Arry 'imself before denying it and saying he is 'appy at Spurs and has no intention of leaving.
Edit: Speaking of which....

Harry's probably covering his ass bout not wanting the England job, he wants it but I'm sure even he knows he'd make a mess of it. I've read in a paper that he's interested in Chelsea as well, but is happy at Spurs at the moment.
I guess if a manager gets voted out the house first, then maybe their team gets relegated?
