Shame it wasn't Mourinho he dropped....
I didn't realise there was so few matches left in the Championship. Its the best time of the year, especially for Liverpool fans its the time of year when the "Next year is our year" nonesense starts.

I think Liverpool could use one of those dossiers to be shown to potential signings. They can talk about the spirit of Shankley, how they are the biggest club in the world and how Jamie Carragher and Stevie G will take any new signings under their wing. Plus that Hicks and Gillette video could be shown so potential new signings know that Scousers have such a wonderful sense of humour and are the funniest thing on youtube.

but next year really is the year! well, actually, if they sign the right players then it might be, but you can say that for any team. that brochure was...interesting. that page with all his qualities was like pulling out the best qualities of every person. heck, he must be absolutely perfect!
oh and a few pages back there was discussion on tevez. don't be surprised if he transfers again this summer. (cough cough serie a cough).
he dropped the cup! lol that seemed like it was one of those made up stories. and then the bus ran over it...priceless! they are going to face off again this wednesday, which will be interesting to see how they do. barca for some reason have not looked convincing recently, not playing their best. we'll see how it goes. it should be no surprises on the schalke-man u match, but you never know.

Wonder if Barca fans also have a 'sack the manager' mentality as well when there's a bad run. Didn't Guardiola hint he may leave to avoid stagnation?

I think he did OBaka but then signed a new contract. I dunno he's a strange dude.
I didn't realise there was so many matches on today, its strange seeing afternoon matches on a week day.
Good news Sparroww, Fletcher is back in training. Who'd have thunk that he would go on to be our best midfielder? He used to get the same kind of flack that Berbatov gets now when he first came through.
Saw a new rumour today linking us with Hulk, the Porto striker. Thats one striker signing I'd like to see us complete. He would bring something different and can play in a few different positions and he is called Hulk. Being called Hulk is reason enough to sign anyone.

Well for me it definitely feels like a weekend over here seeing as it's a bank holiday, but yeah afternoon football on a Friday; very rare indeed.
Fletcher has improved a fair bit for us I'll admit, am intrigued to see how he carries on for us though in perhaps years to come.
Heard about the Hulk rumor a couple weeks ago, though I read this morning on a Yahoo article that United have agreed to a deal with Inter for Robben at £25 million. How long has he been with Inter now?

You mean Sniejder? I think he has been there a couple of years. I can't see us buying him, we have had so many chances to sign him over the years and for some reason have never seemed to bother. He is a great player but he might be another Veron, unable to play at the tempo of the PL. Then again if he adapted well he is exactly the kind of player we need.
Summer signings of Hulk and Sneijder would be excellent but I get the impression it will be more youngsters who no one has really heard of. We do have some good midfielders in our reserves but they are very young. Morrison and Pogba look like excellent prospects.

Wow, proof I haven't woken up yet lol.
Fergie struck me as a manager who prefers 'unfinished articles' so yeah I can see them going for young kids. A couple big name signings wouldn't hurt though.

Haha most likely Auto, although there only behind by goal difference. Sneaky Leeds could sneak back up next week.
And the QPR camp believe they'll only get fined instead of a deduction, and Warnock is 'convinced' that it won't happen at all. Not sure on that one tbh.

Hehe...Warnock can believe what he likes....this is the FA were talking about, and they seen hell bent on making examples of folk at the moment don't they lol
As for QPR themselves, I have nothing against them really, but Warnock does tend to rub me up the wrong way.

I think if they were planning on docking QPR points they wouldn't have timed the hearing for the last week of the season. Its a ridiculous situation. I like Warnock, he amuses me with his strange ways.
Part of me now wants Leeds to come up, theres no way they would score so many goals in the PL and their defence is kinda crap. I reckon they would be utterly humiliated which would be quite fun to watch. I caught a bit of the match tonight and Elland Road was pretty much empty, dunno if it was the timing of the match or what but it was barren in there.

What I do find very annoying though, is that Luton were docked 10 points for a similar thing in 2008...and even more amusing is:
Remember who Sheffield Uniteds manager was and who was OH SO VERY vocal regarding the letter of the law and how it should be applied in full to West Ham?
Kettle....black anyone?
Edit:
Let us not forget, the only reason this has all come about is because QPR asked the FA for permission to buy the third parties contract out......to which the FA went...."sorry...which thrird party? The third party you failed to inform us about originally?"
They have also paid out money (allegedly) to an agent who is not on the official list (exactyl what Luton did).....I really fail to see exactly how they can get away with this. As for the date, it's not great timing, but the FA had made it 'this season' to exactly aoid the fiasco they had with West Ham/Sheffield Utd.
To me, the only tjhing the FA can do (given other recent punisgments) is to give them the points reduction. A fine makes a mockery of their own rules and recent punishments for likewise crimes.

As it was a bank holiday I think the people of Leeds had better things to do in their day, and we could do with some comedy if Wolves and Blackpool are relegated that I agree with lol.
And yeah the Warnock/Sheffield incident, well it seems we've come full circle.

In fairness to Warnock wasn't the guy signed before he arrived? If they are docked points for it (and West Ham weren't if memory serves) then Warnock will have been screwed by the same rule twice, which is kinda hilarious and his head might explode. Though first time round Sheffield United could have negated the whole argument by not being crap.
There was a case recently I can't recall who it was but two teams fielded an inelligible player the day after the transfer deadline and one team was fined more points than the other. I'm not sure why and it seemed a tad nuts. Can anyone remember it or shed some light?

In fairness.....the rule didnt exist in 2006. West ham were fined just for failing to tell the FA about the agents and third party interests. There was no rule/law to say you can't have them/use them.
Because of all the hassle, they introduced the rule. So Warnock was sucking lemons really, the only rule the Hammers broke were just not informing the FA. At the time, a fine was suitable.
QPR on the other hand (and Warnock should be well aware of the rules now), did buy a player with a third party interest, and supposedly paid an agent not on the official list. 2 charges there that teams recently have been docked points for.
And no Druss, your correct, Warnock did not sign him, so thats not exactly his fault, but he knows the rules...and QPR broke them (and sorry, but pleading ignorance in that they didn't know is no legal defence).
The thing I am interested in at the moment is....Warnock is supposedly issueing a personal claim against the people involved and West Ham yeah. If he can do that, I wonder if we miss out on the Prem (because QPR ony get a fine), can Norwich Sue QPR and Neil Warnock? ROFL
Edit:
Not sure druss, I recall the event but not much of what actually happened...

My memory is hazy on the whole thing because it happened more than 20 minutes ago but wasn't Warnocks argument that even after the rule was brought in Tevez continued to be owned by a third party? As I say though my memory is very hazy on the subject as it bored me until Tevez joined us and it came up again that he was still owned by that Iranian fella.
Tomorrow morning is when the title run in truly begins, its the best time of year. It puts hair on your chest and brown streaks in your pants.
Has anyone seen that sports panel show with Jamie Redknapp? Between watching it earlier and reading that thread about forum mods I've just about given up all hope for the future of humanity. The man is the stupidest person I've ever seen on tv and that includes Big Brother contestants. He sits waiting for someone else on his team to answer the questions then repeatedly shouts their answers no matter if they were right or wrong.

Yeah thats the one Sparroww have you watched much of it? I've watched it a few times and thought he couldn't possibly be that stupid but he does the same thing in every single episode that I've seen. It reminds me of those withering looks Graeme Souness used to give him when he opened his mouth during Champions League matches. Sky are trying to turn him into the face of football, the same guy that launched a magazine exclusively for celebrities. I can't wait until man of the people Gary Neville joins them next year, he will look like a mensa member next to Redknapp.
I hear Sandra Redknapp is a genius, she is good at sticking away headers at the back post too by all accounts better than Darren Bent. Spurs might well be higher up the league if they had Bent instead of the misfiring duo of Crouch and Defoe.
I don't even know where to begin on that thread lol.
Fully fit squad tomorrow Sparroww, should be a good game but Everton have turned us over a few times at Goodison Park. Atleast I think we are away...

Watched it couple hours ago, John Bishop is the highlight of that show. Funny scouser is funny. Know what you mean 'bout Jamie though one of the questions was name 3 teams in the premier league beginning with 'W' which he struggled with, to which I seriously facepalmed, face of football?
I believe we're at home tomorrow Druss, Everton could really give us a proper tough game if they've got their game faces on. Quite looking forward to that.
EDIT: Aren't Berba and Fletcher still unfit to play?

Your right on both counts Sparroww, my heads up my arse today.(No comments! I'm looking at you Auto) I read the United at full strength headline and assumed everyone was back tomorrow but it was referring to the run in. Berba is a slight doubt but he wouldn't be starting anyway, Fletch and Raphael are back in training. Them Da Silva twins are fragile beings.
Thats the one I saw too, the bit that got me was when asked to name three rugby teams named after animals his team mate shouted Wasps and one of them shouted Rhyno's. So then our Jamie being the genius that he is sat shouting "WASPS!! RHYNO'S!! WASPS!!" until that fat guy who isn't funny had to move on to the next question.
