I heard about this. All the clubs here, with Ajax in front, keep whining about English clubs taking all the good dutch young players away and the next day you hear that they themselves have bought an 17 year old guy... or something like this:POBakaSama wrote...

Maybe they figured they would have to get them even earlier. So...do you think he'll be called up into the under-17s just yet?
Anyone wondering whether Houllier should have gone back to club management given his health? Always found it odd myself that he stepped down from his role in the France set up to go to Aston Villa.
And...getting tempted by Football Manager...hm....

17 months old?! what if he turns out to be just good, but not a phenom? its going to be about 17-18 years to see if the investment was worth it.
football manager, now there is a game that seems very easy to get consumed in.
ok, to stoke the fire on the mourinho comments. to be honest, i don't completely disagree with him. he went too far by insinuating that guardiola and uefa are somehow plotting together to be in the final, but they definitely get shown some favouritism. i didn't get to see the match, so i can't comment on how they played, but that second messi goal was something else, just out of this world.

Of all the red card incidents he is complaining about thats the only one that he can have any kind of argument about and I still think it was a red card. In that atmosphere charging at someone with your studs up at that height is just asking to be sent sent off wether you catch the player or not. The other 4 were clear red cards. They had a former ref on SSN today going through them all and he concluded Mourinho is full of it. When you send your teams out to play against Barca the way he does your asking for trouble. Your basically sending them out to spend 90 minutes tackling and giving away niggling freekicks.
He never talks about when he won the league with Porto, theres no mention of them bribing refs. He never mentions Paul Scholes disallowed goal against Porto when there was 3 players playing him on-side. Thats what Mourinho's career is built on, getting dodgy decisions and cheating. He deflects it all by accusing others of cheating.
He once said fans should get their money back because someone (I think Spurs, maybe) played against Chelsea and Mourinho accused them of parking the bus and playing for a draw. What do his teams do every time they play Barca? The man is quite simply a liar and a hypocrite.
Everyone knows Barca get special treatment its no big secret. But Real get the same special treatment, they can talk about other teams players, tap them up and anounce they intend to sign them in the media without any punishment. Both teams get away with blue murder. Barca are divers and cheats too. They just don't get caught as stupidly as Mourinho's players do.
Real have now reported Barca to UEFA for unsportsmanlike behaviour and simulation after Barca reported them for Mourinho's comments.

yeah, pretty much agree with you there druss. there is no doubt mourinho is full of himself, but i do think he is a good manager. whether he is or isn't is debatable. as for the accusations and claims, well, you have to take it with a grain of salt. does he really mean it, or is he looking to pass the blame along or deflect attention? remember, he knows what he is doing and saying.
i don't think mourinho should get a severe penalty. after all, these are just words, and though powerful, you don't need to mind them if you don't want to. but hey, we all have different opinions.
and about the tackle. i didn't write it above, but there was definitely intent there. it was at least a yellow, but i'm not 100% on what the rules say merits a red. like you said, cleats were showing, and his foot continues towards alves' calf. also, that lady is a barca fan and she keeps saying "i want to see another angle, another angle" (she doesn't believe it

Sounds like some denial there...
Mind you, it seems that Mourinho does those things to deflect some of the criticism and perhaps pressure off of his players. Mourinho's way of doing so just makes it more...interesting I suppose. The thing is, many managers do something to deflect attention from their players: Wenger does so to protect his players, and I recall there was an interview with him where he confesses that he does so (even lying) to cover them; Ferguson did something earlier in the season for Rooney who couldn't seem to take a hint.
Anyway...that particular tackle: definitely with intent there so I don't think there's any question there. What was Alves' reaction after that though? (I missed the match and highlights.)

He does it to deflect from the fact he isn't a great manager and has a dodgy record himself where these things are concerned. I think he should be severely punished and by that I mean shot or atleast a very very lengthy ban. Sir Alex and Avram Grant recently got bans for questioning one referee each over decisions that were actually questionable. Mourinho questioned the whole of UEFA and named atleast three referee's. Half the things he is moaning about were clear red cards and some of them don't even involve him. He questioned the integrity of the sport as a whole and it can't be allowed to stand, he has gotten away with too much for too long.
The tackle was dangerous its really up to the interpretation of the ref if its a red or yellow and in that atmosphere Pepe was asking for it. Alves should be punished for going off on a stretcher when he wasn't touched the slimy git.
Something for the Norwich fans but bare in mind its from the Sun...

Can't see it happening still if they left it to that late in the season. It will either be just a fine or deducting enough points so as it doesn't affect their qualification. Otherwise its a whole summer long mess atleast. Just read in the comments section there that they might deduct the points next season, which could be funny.

At the very least if QPR did get a 10 point deduction it would still leave them a chance to try and get 2nd place and at worst a play-off place, deducting points at the beginning of the next season means if they struggle in the PL then they're almost doomed to be relegated next year which does seem a little harsh.
And I'm sure Norwich and Cardiff fans would rather they be deducted now rather than later. It's intriguing but yeah it's still the Sun.

I don't think its that harsh if they only got there because of their illegal activities.
Maybe Norwich and Cardiff fans would prefer the deduction for next season, if they are the other two teams that go up. If QPR are -15 points next year then that most likely leaves only two other relegation places which means more chance of staying up and establishing themselves in the top flight.

Hmmm...interesting take Druss......while I believe as far as the rules are concerned, the points should be this season....
I do like your idea of them starting 10 to 15 points less than us....certainly make it a litle easier to stay up having one less team to worry about lmao.....though, as has been shown many times before, a deduction next season could see them try to prove everyone wrong and actually turn it around.....
Difficult one to say from a Norwich fans perspective what I'd like the more. Personally, like them not to be punished at all, not their fault, was the slimy Briator'es fault.....but then rules are rules....

That's my point as deducting them points now (15 possibly) means they'd be still in a playoff position which isn't guaranteed promotion but still leaves them with a chance as opposed to completely stripping them off that chance otherwise I'm sure they'd appeal over it.
But first and foremost I'm sure Norwich and Cardiff would be happier with the 1st and 2nd place and getting into the PL, most likely their primary concern atm.

Indeed Sparroww...get promotion first...anything else is irrelevent really isnt it?
Still feel if things go bad for QPR, they will look at the Cardiff game.....if they won that game that would have put them 10 clear of cardiff. Warnock might be a little like Mourinho at times imo, but I would be worried about this regardless of what his 'people' have told him...and I would make damn sure I got enough points ahead of third place to safeguard myself.
Better to make uneeded plans than to not make them and need them.

Whatever happens its probably going to go on all summer with appeals and teams claiming they have been wronged by the whole thing. The FA have made a right mess leaving it this long. It must not have been in the papers enough for them to care about it.

Posté 29 avril 2011 - 02:24
And the Hull game also, and yeah Warnock reckons they'll only get a fine though I think they're trying to hold onto their position by mere luck now from their last couple of games performances.
As for next season it would be easy to have a good run at the beginning whilst thinking we might stay up in the league for awhile then next thing you know you're fighting to avoid relegation near the end, as it's entirely up to chance which coincidentally is quite similar to Blackpool's position at the moment.

Their team on paper doesn't look like its going to have any sort of easy run of it. But I suppose they are fairly rich.
Next week will certainly be an interesting one we have Chelsea - Spurs, Arsenal - United, Barca - Real, The QPR thing, United - Schalke, United - Chelsea, Norwich are on Sky on Monday night, the Barca/Real disciplinary hearing is on Friday morning.
I put on SSN in the hope of avoiding the royal wedding nonesense. Nowhere is safe! Victoria Beckham now looks like a lizard disguised as a human.

I expect another appearance from you on the Sky Sports website commentary lol. I'll most likely only see the first half for Game of Thrones is on at 9pm on mondays.
No none of the promoted teams are great on paper but neither are alot of the teams down around the bottom half of the PL. I don't think QPR would be anywhere near good enough to overcome a 15 point deduction.

Helps to keep you busy, Auto.
Still somewhat sceptical about QPR being docked points myself. Perhaps certain matters don't interest the FA because they aren't related the Premiership.
Still, that whole situation certainly puts Warnock in an...interesting position.

Not related to the Prem League?
Not really sure how the Norwich & Cardiff Boards roll to be honest, but whoever finishes third...and QPR are not docked points, it concerns the Prem league then lol....
And you can bet your ass legal action will be started....like Druss said, this should have been sorted out a couple of weeks after the FA found out about it...then even they were docked, they still had half the season to get those points back (which they probably would have.)
Whats perhaps more interesting, is if they are docked....(thus found guilty), were any teams denied promotion or relegated due to a QPR game where Faurlin played etc etc.....
Could all get very awkward and compensation could be flying around all over league.

Am I right in thinking that he was there last season too? If so then the appeals and calls for compensation could go right back to when he first joined. He has played 38 games this season alone.
I think the FA's process only really gets moving if the papers and media start bleating on about something. If this was a high profile PL club then you can bet your ass leaving it this long would never have happened.
