Jumped into the game after installing 1.04 and startet chain casting Cleansing Aura and Holy Shock - went fine untill the 10th cleanse or so, then crash to desktop. (same problem I've had since installing Awakening - played through the original DA without problems)

Running Vista 64 bit home.
Amd phenom triple core 2.31Ghz
Geforce GTX 275
SB X Fi Xtreme with 5.1
DX 11
4GB Ram

Tried most user suggestions with 1-3 cores, setting ram, dx9, disabled sound  etc. etc... nothing helps when casting these spells.

Thanks for the information. Out of curiosity, do you have additional mods installed? Are your drivers up-to-date (Videocard, soundcard, motherboard drivers)? And furthermore, have you tried a complete uninstall/reinstall and re-patch since 1.04 has been released?
