Hello
I've skilled one of my team members to the highest available skill level in lock picking, still there are (some) chests I can not open (Insufficient Skill). This seems a little bit odd to me... Do I miss something? Perhaps I need a higher cunning-level (which is 12 atm)...?!?

How can you have the highest availible skill level in lock picking when your cunning is only 12?
Tier 4 of lockpicking requirers cunning of 22.

Yeah cunning plays a role on lock checks , so having lvl 4 in lock picking and just a 22 cunning will not open all locked chests.

So I have the same issue with 27 Cunning and Full Tier 4 lockpick and still cannot open some. So just some more points in cunning will do it?

Yes. I use Leilana to pick locks, and I think I needed a cunning of around 30 before I could open all of them.

All true. Personally, when I got a character to the point where he could open all locks I found it wasn't worth the effort. Soon after getting Tier 4, I had wanted to put a few points into Dex but pushed on to see what would with LP.
Another issue was that several of the toughest chests were not pickable when I encountered them, even though the skill was the higherst it could possibly be at that point in the game. Given the location (not near the entry point), the lack of any other interesting reason to go back there, the repetitive nature of the "rooms" and the blandness of the contents; it wasn't worth it for me.
I am happy that LP still has a place in CRPGs, but for me I was not chuffed after maximising it in DA:O.
