I'm trying to turn the Flaming Weapons effect black.

How is this done? Using the Age Map doesn't seem to work; it makes white if all colors are equal, and nothing at all when colors are set to 0.

I attempted to copy the various settings of the 'BlackTail' of the Entropy Projectile VFX... but again nothing at all showed up when I transfered those settings.

If you want to turn vfx textures black they need to be marked as additive or blend (I can't remember which) in the list where you select them. Take a look at 'black noise' part of the succubus vfx.

Could you clarify what you mean by "in the list where you select them"?

I've looked though all the options on the Properties, Age Map, Emission, Other, Splat, and Splat Age Map tabs and seen no sign of either "additive" or "blend".

Neither does right-clicking the emitter in the 'tree' to the left of the render window give any useful options on that front, nor does the General/Animation/Buffer Effect 1-3/Layout Setting/Material FX pane shown when the root VFX node is selected.

To clarify, the list where you select the textures from the texture library you've loaded. For instances if you choose the fire library underneath that you choose which texture from that library you would like. Some of those textures are marked as blend and some are marked as additive.
