Interesting. Hadn't seen a map of Thedas before now. Fereldan is bigger than I envisaged.

I noticed Honnleath and Sulcher's Pass was missing of the mega-hi-res map of Thedas, while comparable Haven and Ghleren's Pass are depictied.

I don't think DLC areas are on that map.  Would be cool if they were labelled on there.

Interesting, I wonder if this is just some extra lore, or if all the places highlighted are places Hawke can visit during his(or her) ten year story? Llomerynne seems particularly interesting, the Singapore of Thedas I would assume?

Something semi-related that caught my eye... the map has what seems like a scale around it. Ferelden for example appears to be ~11 units "wide" and 7 units "tall".

Just curious if that's only to make things look prettier and more map-like, or is that a display of some actual, official measuring system. Would be interesting to know the scale of things if it's the latter.

So Kirkwall is near the Ocean...Isabella did say she was gonna leave before the Blight hits.Does anyone think Hawke hitched a ride with her?

Somehow doubt it -- Isabela is from Rivain and think she said something to the effect she'd be heading there and as far as needed to get away from the Blight... and that's quite a different direction from Kirkwall.

Given Kirkwall's proximity to the ocean, I'm wondering if we get to do any naval type stuff in DA2? You see some ships in Awakening, but it would be neat to further explore the naval side of things in Thedas.

Interesting, the map is very small but from what I can see if the places with entries are where we will go in DA2, we got to Lothering, Val Royeaux, Halamshiral, Par Vollen, Denerim, Orzammar, Kirkwall, Sundermount and Llomerynn, not in that order. Maybe the conflict in the game is with the Qunari, dunno why that would make Hawke the most important person in Thedas though.

I highly doubt we are going to see all those places in DA2. I pretty sure it's just teasing, but damn I would like to see Minrathous.

Ten locations, ten years? Perhaps Hawke does a bit of travelling? Or as someone suggested, it is the Inquisitor chick that goes to some of these places?

Heh, perhaps we only get a tantalizing glimpse of, say, Minrathous or Llomerynn, and get to actually visit there in the hypothetical DA2 expansion?

IF we do get to go to these different places as Hawke, I wonder how linear the game will be? Will we have options of going to these places in different order? That might be difficult to pull off, since one would presume that time does go on in all these places, and visiting one place right after Lothering or seven years later would be quite different?

I hope the game isn't too linear...

Someone should sticky this, so people will see it and not make multiple duplicate threads.

But this looks very interesting. I doubt we'll be visiting ALL of the highlighted places, but maybe a few of them. The area of Sundermont, with the ancient elves and demons interests me the most...

So, we get a secret elf village, a pirate town and a dwarf city. classics =)

I'm very interested in the ruins of Halamshiral. Maybe it will provide more information on the Golden/Black City. Besides, it will be nice to see some elven and not tevinter architecture for a change.

A Nice change of going to different continents and seeing different cultures in the dragon age universe. Though why does the game informer website make my computer act up?

If that map is anything to go by, it seems we may explore more about the history of the Elves, with Halamshiral and Sundermount:

Add to that Arl Foreshadows note in Origins about Arlathan survivors and maybe the whole Fall of Arlathan and ancient elven magic will be a major DA2 plot point...

Ah I didn't see that was highlighted. If these are game locations its certainly going to be a travelogue.

Anywhere not Ferelden is good. I'm sick of that place. I have not read the DA books, did anything important happen in Llomeryn?
