Import issues for Awakening after (and before) Patch 1.04

After Patch 1.04:
One of the new features of Patch 1.04 is to equip an imported character into Awakening with default Orlesian Warden equipment if the imported character is wearing DLC items that won't import (such as items from Warden's Keep DLC), so that the imported character won't start the game naked.
Serious Problem:
While your imported character will correctly equip the default equipment (in my case this was a Level 24 warrior), and your old DLC items won't show, the game will still think you have your old DLC equipment equipped and it will reflect this in your stats. Of course, since the DLC items failed to import and aren't showing, you can't unequip them. This is, of course, both beneficial and harmful. For example, my imported character's armor value was over 70! Once I unequipped all the default Warden armor and stood naked, the armor value was now at 38 - exactly what it was with the old DLC equipment. In other words, the game still thinks you have your old equipment there and stacks it on top of whatever new equipment you're using. The bad part is, the fatigue value stays as well. In my case, my Level 24 warrior had a fatigue level of over 70% from essentially wearing 2 suits of plate armor simultaneously! I believe the old values carried over and affect everything including fatigue, health, stamina, armor, attack, defense, and damage, among others.
Reproducability:
This issue can be reproduced every time that I imported a character with DLC items equipped.
Items Used:
Aside from rings, belts, and amulets that did import correctly, my character was using all equipment from Warden's Keep. This includes Starfang, dragonbone Warden Commander Armor (all 3 pieces), and dragonbone versions of Metal Kite Shield and Soldier's Heavy Helm (the non-magical unique-looking versions that Mikhael Dryden sells at Warden's Keep). All of the above items (sword, shield, armor) did not import to Awakening and were replaced by default Warden equipment.
Another issue (that is present on both 1.03 and 1.04 patches):
Certain helmet textures do not appear correctly in Awakening (but do appear correctly in Origins). Specifically, this affects certain massive helmets that appear identical to helmets such as Cailan's Helm (from Return to Ostagar). For example, in Origins, Cailan's Helm has a darker texture and has a purple plume, while in Awakening it now has a lighter texture and a white plume. In fact, it looks identical to Helm of Hirol's Defense, which I'm sure isn't intentional.
Other testing:
I tested this with several other helmets that look similar, and it appears only several are affected. Juggernaut Helm, for example, doesn't have this problem. Interestingly enough, if you use mods to import Warden's Keep items into Awakening, this will affect those helms (such as Soldier's Heavy Helm that you buy from Mikhael Dryden) - they will also have the same problem as Cailan's Helm and suddenly transform into a copy of Helm of Hirol's Defense once imported into Awakening.
Specs: English/US version of DA:O, patched to 1.04, Awakening expansion installed (patched to 1.04 *after* Awakening installed), all DLC installed (Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner, Return to Ostagar, Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, and a few promotional items), no mods installed
Running WinXP 64-bit, can provide computer specs if needed

I believe the patch notes for 1.04 state that Vigilance accidentally using textures from some other weapon (Starfang or other) is still not fixed. Also, the 100 approval bug can't be fixed if it's already happened...I believe the 1.04 patch just attempts to fix the bug *before* it occurs. Not exactly ideal, I know...
I shold go re-read the patch notes then, as I didn't see that. I know it's a trival non-game breaking bug, but I'll still try and wait until they fix it before I play.
As for the approval bug, as I said, I'm more then willing to give them a pass on that for the reasons you stated.

My Vigilance sword is STILL using the texture for Starfang or Calin's Sword, one of those two, and I think it's supposed to use it's own. Also, my companions who automatically hit 100 approval upon joining are still at 100. Now, with that I don't know if they can't fix it without some major problems because of gifts already given or not enough time left to raise it properly or some such, so I think that problem should be given a pass on characters pre 1.04. However, I'm hoping my mage won't have the same problem.
There is a theory that because you had strafang equiped or in your inventory it bugs the game and makes Vigilance look like Starfang (same for Warden Commander /Sentinel Armor) I thought about this because when i imported my character from origins i didn't have the WC armor with me and so sthe sentinel armor looks how it should be, but i do have starfang equiped and so the sword looks like starfang. As i said this is just a theory, but i don't have the time to play Awakening all over again and prove it. If someone could try it PLEASE inform me

I believe the reason for this is because the weapons use a similar database entry, and the game assigns the wrong model. There is a mod which can fix it, but it's buggy, and sometimes the sword disappears afterwards, possibly due to scripting conflicts.Erucolindo wrote...

As for the "persistent stats" problem, this existed in another form previously, where items removed from the player would continue to have their effects added as permanent boosts. This sounds like a manifestation of the same bug, but considering the supposedly extensive testing their fixes received, it's surprising it's still in the game at all.
