Hi All,

Thanks dunniteowl for helping me get onto this site :)  I'm really not technologically advanced.

I'm trying figure out how to create credits for the end of a game. I haven't seen anything about making a scrolling screen or such, although I can do a cutscene thing if necessary.

Does anyone know how to do the scrolling thing? I've already seen a cutscene tutorial I'll be trying for other stuff.

Thanks.

You have to make an endgame movie in a separate video editing application. Here's a tut for putting your movie in game.

So I presume my rather oblique reference to an EA account was sufficient, judging by the relatively quick posting since my email...

Now I just need to figure out how to use a different movie-making tool

You can also do an ending cutscene using TGAs for the credit tiles on each node of the conversation.

I also liked how the Bouncy Rock Halloween module did the starting credits using billboard VFXs that lerped into position.

Hi Mokah and Jason,

Can you please give me a quick lowdown on what TGA's are (although I understand the conversation node bit) and billboard VFX lerping?

I feel as old as my portrait...

I understand... TGA is a file type and I make it using paint.net or some other program, then in the node I can bring it in as a slideshow.

I still don't understand the VFX lerping thing...

LERP'ing is the effect of fading in and fading out I believe.

EDIT: And the speed/delay by which one can actually control a "fade-in" and/or "fade-out" effect. I myself have several LERP effects, most notibly a .sef file that was made to make some NPC's "fade-in" rather slowly, and another that does the opposite, designed long ago when the game was first released.

Thanks BFBHLC. I'm still learning a lot about this sort of thing.

Is there any way to do this with existing toolset tools?
