I loved the way both elves and dwarves were done in Dragon Age: Origins. Humans though for the most part seemed to be douchebags. I was really looking forward to Dragon Age 2, now......not so much.

Another problem I have is voicing the main character. I understand that that's the new "thing to do" among developers, but for me it really takes you out of the immersion if the character sounds nothing like you. There's a reason Link is voiceless in all the good Zelda games.

Finally, I also really loved the origin thing. I thought the origin thing was what was going to set dragon age apart from the rest. Unfortunately it seems they're tossing that idea out the window. This is very sad news for me. I will still be watching all news on it and hopefully it turns out to be good, but for now I'm setting my expectations to low and will wait instead of pre-ordering it like I did with the first one.

Well... humans are the most popular race.

Elves are wussies

and Dwarves are just too cool for the average man to handle.

Like Mass Effect you say?  This totally new and well thought-out idea has completely changed my viewpoint.  You are a gentleman and a scholar, sir.  Thank you for enlightening me.

Dwarves are complete douche bags too.

Oh, and so are Dalish elves.

Really every race has a significant amount of douche bags with the exceptional people standing out.  It's like real life!

Because the majority of people like to play human. If playing a character with a different voice then you is immersion breaking, then wouldn't playing a character a completely different race be even more immersion breaking?(unless you are a dwarf)

Link isn't really voiceless, he has girly little screams whenever he attacks(or he used to, haven't played the newer zelda games).

There ya go, a whole link just for you. You know, If people would actually read the other topics, even the ones on the FRONT page, there would be 80% less regurgitation here. But of course you haven't the time for this, yes?

Oh yeah I did. My character got taken out by a mirror. A MIRROR. When I wasn't out in the wild, fighting the oh so fearsome woodland critters, I had to listen to the other elves whine and moan about how rough they have it.

Meanwhile, my dwarf Noble was having threesomes and beating the crap out of highly trained and heavily armored dwarf warriors.

Dwarf Noble origin was the best origin hands down.  Second was Human Noble.

In real life, I'm not of European ancestry and never drank demon blood. So no, being an elf isn't any different to me than being a white guy in a pseudo medieval Europe setting who has magic powers. I can still imagine I sound like him though, even if he looks completely different than me. This will not be the case with Dragon Age 2

Sonic the Hedgehog is a human?  You played a human only in Origins?  Ever play Baldur's Gate?  What race did you play there?

Really I only needed one example to refute your claim, because simply one example proves your "all games" assertion to be wrong, but I think you get where I'm going with this.

Having to be human doesn't bother me at all, although since this is a sequel to a game that had more options I get why it bothers people.

So when your imagination was shattered by the little bit of voicing done for the Origins characters, did you rage quit and fling your console/PC out the window?

It's not a matter of time really, it's more a matter of me wanting my voice heard (how ironic).
I am upset with the direction this series is going and I wanted Bioware to know so I started my own topic on the forums. I have a right to do this. If you don't like it, well....I really don't care what you think about it. Go flame someone else's forum, or better yet go do something constructive with your time.

When I don't like a game I simply don't buy it,  I've never flinged my console out the window, but hey, whatever floats your boat. Besides, I could care less if the NPCs in a game have voices. I am not playing them and they do not represent me in the gaming world.
