Yep, if you take legion with you to the end he says:
"Shepard-Commander, this facility is data. It has no inherent ethical value. Destroying it will not return those lost. Keeping it may save others."
In that case I shouldn't trust Garrus, Grunt nor Zaeed.

Garrus and Zaeed have had no dealings with reapers that I know about. They weren't on Eden Prime. Grunt I'm suspicious of. Okeer used Collector tech to help build Grunt. Maybe we're in for a suprise. Another difference is that they didn't ask me to either destroy or indoctrinate the rest of their species based on their word alone.

Did you even play Mass Effect 1?
And why am I not suprised you don't trust Grunt. What's next he is Reaper spy too?

When Legion is with you, geth still attack him--the same geth that would normally attack you as well. These are also the same geth that helped Sovereign, as can be proven by the fact that the Alliance has been hunting them all down and has widdled them down to pockets of resistance. Of course, this is assuming [direct control] that all hostile geth were with Sovereign, but part of the argument you guys are putting forth is that there's only one geth faction.
So, what do we know?
1. Legion is not hostile to us.
2. Legion gives us a way to combat the hostile geth.
3. Hostile geth were allied with Sovereign.
4. Hostile geth are likewise hostile to Legion.
At the very least, you could apply "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" to the situation with Legion.

Yea, well, because the characters that want to destroy it all seem to be motivated by anger rather that reason (this facility is abomination, we have to destroy it to avenge the people who died here, yadda yadda). He's basically saying "guys, I understand you organics are overcome with your weird emotions, but let's not do anything stupid because of that".
If you do keep the base he hopes humans are smart enough not to use it for tis primary purpose.
On the subject of trusting or not trusting Legion... well, trusting anyone with anything in any situation is always a risk. But if they turn out to be worth your trust, everyone may end up better off in the end. That may be one of the subtle points the game developers are trying to make.
Also, if you don't trust the potential allies you risk not having any when you need them. So it's a gamble either way, and really comes down to personal preference.

You serious? You're equating Garrus shooting reaper minions, with making deals with them? Come on now, you have to do a lot better than that if you're going to accuse me of not playing ME1. As for Grunt, I really don't know whats in the cards for him. Keeping a weary eye is healthy.

They are machines that need to be purged!

If Legion really is against the reapers, what you say is true. I don't disagree with that. That quote was meant for the other guy, on why Legion would help you destroy the base on the hypothetical scenario that Legion is in league with the reapers. I simply stated that Legion argues for saving the base and that the reapers may have a more critical objective for him to achieve. Nothing else.
Regarding your last point. For me trust is earned. While someone is trying to build your trust and that person says "Hey I'm really a good guy, it's the other guys who look exactly like me are the real bad guys. Lets brainwash or destroy them!", without one shred of hard evidence to back him up, would you do it? Personally, I wouldn't be so rash.

There is no stopping a machine uprising. The best you can do is run away as fast as your squishy mortal legs will carry you.ReconTeam wrote...
I learned long ago that any machine uprising must be put down immediately. The quarians in their incompetence failed at this. So it is just another mess that Shepard has to clean up eventually.

If this seems silly to you, or if it seems like anything other than perfectly reasonable and undeniably faultless logic, I don't like you. Or your friends.
Because your friends don't dance and if they don't dance then they're no friends of mine.

If the latter statement includes a garaunteed hit on the Citadel Council, I'd be happy to oblige on join forces with them.
Anyway, I like Legion because he, of all things (see what I did there!?), resembles the kind of thinking I try to achieve in most situations. I already tend to be emotionally cold, now all I need is that sort of organized thinking and I could aswell be an android programmed to think it's human ...
I hate humans, at least the most of them, ... but then again the potential. Why can't we decide on one thing. Then I could either love us, or finally try to eradicate everyone.

Adolf Hitler, Mao Zedong, Iosef Stalin, Attila the Hun, the Tobacco-Industry Executives and Councellor Palpatine danced. Would you trust them too?

I will not bow, but upon reading your infallible reasoning, I must agree that this is irrefutable evidence. Only to his bestest friends does Legion ever do the robot dance. It's a sacred pact of trust.Nightwriter wrote...

They may have danced, but there is still a question as to whether they had done the robot.

Probably. Most of them seem pretty stiff. . Their dances probably come out looking like something similar to the robot.
