That 1 base could've been planned all along. At the end of that mission for all we know there could've been humans on board the station.
lolwut?
If you take Legion on Tali's recruitment mission, it kills other geth. If you take Legion on Tali's loyalty mission, it kills other geth. It follows you on a suicide mission to disrupt the plan of the Reapers. On it's loyalty mission, it kills other geth. Sure, there could have been other humans on board, but we could endlessly discuss what could be the case without any evidence. If the dude is playing us, it's not only doing a real good job, but is probably retarded as well.
I'm not saying there isn't some twist involved. But the above reasoning is just...wacky.

But I guess that comes naturally with longer names. Just feel lucky I don't any longer use Quetzalcoatl or Teotihuacan as nicknames any longer ... those are a pain to shorten.

Seriously, you're at the collector base and you need a specialist to hack through the doors to get your whole team through.
You guys have no problem picking Legion over the other members for that task?
Hell no, the fate of the universe does not rest on 1 geth I find a couple hours before that mission. If he backstabs you, your Shepard is dumb$$$

I could think of nicknames for 'em. Just you watch. I'd just call you Q, or T.
Or QT. Then I'd make a nickname out of that and call you Q-Tip! Ha-ha!
Nah, I'd probably just stick with Q or T.

In all seriousness, the reason I trust Legion is he has had many, many opportunities to kill me now, and has not done so.
The "virus" could have been a lie. The destruction of the geth platforms, a small price to pay, and nothing that can't be repaired, all to make shepard think your different.Nightwriter wrote...
Also, because he led me to the heretics and gave me the option to wipe all of them out.

And also because I can sense that the writers mean to introduce Legion as a good character who will change our minds about the geth.

Yes, in hindsight you can see he kills geth and we know he doesn't stab your back at the collector base. IN HINDSIGHT LEGION DOESN'T BACKSTAB YOU IN ME2.

your Shepard's a smart man (sarcastic). Tali is on trial for smuggling geth on board and she brings a live geth on board.

How comes that every short version of the Nicknames of mine sound so damn cool like Q (frufrufrufru Star Trek), T (Mr.T ... aha) and Don (obvious isn't it)?
May it be that you like me? That you want to flirt with me?
You want to hug me, you want to kiss me, you want to make ...

An ardent anti-geth-truster, are you, wulf?
It requires a significantly malignant level of suspicion to suspect the geth of such elaborate works of deception.
You can go ahead and put all that effort into suspecting them, of imagining all the complex ways in which they could be deceiving you, but really, I'd rather put it into eating a bag of Doritos or a nice game of Twister.
Or dancing the robot.

The boy at the back of my classroom in grade school was named Don. He used to pick his nose with his pencil.
Then he'd run around at recess trying to wipe his pencil on other people.
Finally, I told him, "Don, if you keep sticking your pencil up your nose your brain will get lead poisoning and turn to lead. It's already happening, look, it's why you keep getting back D's and F's. Didn't you ever wonder?"
He actually believed me. He cried. But he never picked his nose with his pencil again.

The dude has had ample opportunity to kill Shepard. It had him lined up in it's scope in the derelict Reaper. It was in a base full of other geth with him. If it's its job to kill Shepard it's not doing a very good job.

Assuming the mission is to kill SheppardMaybe he needs him for something more important first and only then will the knife come out? To the reapers, Sheppard isn't the only threat. Or maybe he is what he says he is. Who knows. The whole point of this thread is why do people trust legion. Personally I think being suspicious of him is rational. If people here were as critical with the geth as they are with cerberus, I don't think as many people would trust him, but that's just my opinion.

For us... that "plus" sign can be aLOT of different things.
For the geth it isn't, you help them, they help you, you poke em, they poke you, you trust them, they trust you, you shoot em they shoot you.
They are machines that need to be purged!

Now, by no means is this a Legion bash thread. I think Legion is a great and interesting character, and it's presence definitely adds more shades of grey to the geth and to the Mass Effect fiction in general.
But I have to wonder, why does virtually everyone seem to trust everything Legion says as if it were absolute truth? Legion is the one and only of the "true geth" that we ever encounter, in any way whatsoever. Every last other encounter with the geth is with the supposed "heretics". Funny how the Alliance and Council have officially been in a state of war with the geth for two years, and yet the "true geth" have never attempted contact, never rose up against the heretics, and never attempted in any way to dismiss the beliefs of most organics in the galaxy, that all geth are interested in nothing but the eradication of organic life.
When talking to Legion, it is clear that it knows virtually everything about the events of ME1, and yet it is the only geth unit ever encountered or heard of to acknowledge what happened, or to do anything about it. Add to this the fact that Legion is clearly damaged goods, and is proven capable of withholding knowledge if it so wishes, and one wonders if it is really giving us the full story.
I personally think Bioware has much more in store for Legion in ME3, and I don't believe it is going to be as benign a plot thread as many here seem to.
