Hey

I have a bunch of DLC, and right after I installed them they worked. Since I restarted the game, though, they show up on the downloadable list AND the installed list, but are set as "unauthorized", even though I'm logged in, and I have registered the game.

Previously, this problem would be fixed by manually starting the content updater service, but this is no longer possible for some reason. When I try, the service manager says something to the effect of "the service started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically when they are not being used by other services or programs."

I have tried doing everything, I think, in the sticky, including trying to reinstall the service and updating Windows Vista.
I have the game through Steam, so it should be up to date.

(Edit) To add another variable, I'm playing the original game, not Awakening... I was planning to buy that after I played the new DLC...

I realize this description might be short on details, but frankly I don't know a lot of the variables. If the service would work, I think the game would work. Is there a way to run the DLC without the service or some other way to fix the service.

I question the wisdom of requiring people to constantly confirm the authenticity of their game and DLC. I have wasted literally days trying to get DA: Origins to work because of this issue. Please think of something better for DA2 or I will consider not buying it.

I'm having the exact the same problem. Can't load my games because of this damn "unauthorized" crap this so called patch has caused.

Did you try to manually start the Dragon Age content updater by running services.msc? Worked for me before, just not any more.

Same problem here, although I wasn't aware I updated. Steam must have done it when I slept. Although I find it ironic that Awakening whinges about me not having the proper DLC despite it not being able to even use the dlc in the first place.

So none of you can start DAupdater? I don't know for sure, but I think that's the problem.

I can start the .exe in bin_ship files, but I cannot manually force the service to start.

I'd have imagined that would be the same. Man I hope to get some help soon, I'm anxious to play the game again.

Funny as hell considering the damn patch was SUPPOSE too fix the authorization issues and it just caused more i wanna play my saved games bw fix please?

i am having issue with accessing the stone prisoner and my blood armor from the ce edition.

I seem to have the same problem. Stone Prisoner and Wardens Keep appears both in the available section and installed (but then with "unautorized" added). However, if I log out from the DA servers both switches to "Enabled"???



When I log in again, both "unautorized" again.

They are enabled or disabled regardless of whether they're unauthorized or not. Enabling or disabling them, I think, turns off the content temporarily (if it was authorized to begin with, that is).

all the other dlc is working, just not the shale and blood dragon armor. weird trying to reinstall now

I just clicked "update" sign near my bioware points and all seems to be authorized now (you just have to wait some time - 1-2 minutes - after you log in)

It does seem waiting a while works for some people.



However, I am worried my DAupdater service is bugged and won't run at all, which makes the authentication servers' speed quite irrelevant. Is anyone else having problems stopping or starting the DAupdater service?

reinstalled game and patched before i downloaded , worked well till game crashed, now can't get chronicles to autherize, even when hitting update

So did a solution ever come for this problem?  I realize everyone writing on this particular subject was writing at least 8 months, or more ago, but I am having the exact same issue now and EA doesn't seem to have an answer right off the top of their heads for it.
I've had good fortune with forums in the past, so I'm hoping it will continue as I really want to start playing again.

I can't find my DAUpdater in services.msc but I did find it in bin ship and it seems to be working.  At least the exe file opened up.

All my DLC files, except for Awakenings, are unauthorized.  This all worked before when I first downloaded it on the computer that died.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

Me too! I'm having the exact same problems. Can't get my dlc to show as authorized.

I too am having this issue, did you guys just finish DAII and want to go back as well? That's it isn't it. Help me EA/Bioware, you're my only hope!

All the DLC ive purchased shows as unauthorized ingame for DAO
