What if they arent darkspawn? Everyone has assumed that they are darkspawn because of their similarities but nobody knows why they look different, are these a new breed of darkspawn or a new enemy altogether?

That being said they probably are darkspawn, they look like darkspawn so they probably are darkspawn. However diddnt somebody say DA2 wont be focused around the darkspawn?

It could be they are a new breed. But if it is the new art style, I have to say, I do like the new look for the faces...the armor on the other hand...

Ummm... They were making half warden half darkspawn right? Could this be it, or is to too far-fetched?

Yeah, the armor looks horrible. I don't like armors or weapons that are too colourful. Bioware should watch "The 13th Warrior" or "Kingdom of Heaven" for guidance on weapons and armor design.

well... you missed the point of the new art design... they aim to create unique armors so that you "see a screenshot of dragon age II you know that it is really dragon age II and not lord of the rings". Sadly it seems to include that we will lose the armors from origins...

Well i think and really really hope that they will work on the armor design a little... the design of the darkspawn in the screenshots is just ridiculus! Can Darkspawn really craft armor like this? The armors from Origins look way better and mor realistic...

Whaw i can´t stop saying that i want the darkspawn armors from origins back!!!

But I like the armor of Hawke and Bethanys robe. Good job at this front Bioware! *praise*

Deffinetly look like darkspawn, like the ones who can *spoiler* in the Awakening. They also had this sort of head...chain-mail.

I think the ogre was done well, but geez, those darkspawn are risque, showing all that skin.

I think that's the only problem I have with it. Why wear all that heavy armor if your going to end up exposing ordinarily protected regions? I'm not sure if all the spikes would be palatable if they were covered head to toe; I'd have to see it.

*by which I mean, "would I be able to handle the spikes IF the darkspawn were actually wearing heavy armor"

I wonder if there is a reason why they're all pale, it better not be just because the team wanted a new art style.

The pale skin could be story-related.

And with the armour, maybe they take the armour from prisoners, it would make sense and the armour looks roughly made, I think you can see where holes are in the armour. (Meaning the darkspawn armour is roughly made by darkspawn, not saying the devs had made bad armour.)
