Dragon Age 2 - Where the Hawke Rests

Posted Image

A person’s home can shape the man or woman they become later in life. Although a few details about Dragon Age 2′s leading man Hawke have surfaced, taking a look at the places he calls home may give a bit of insight into not only how he might develop, but tell also of some of the challenges he may face. While most of the game seems like it may take place in a new locale across the Waking See in the Free Marches, even the little we know about that land can give some insight into the life of the hailed “Champion of Kirkwall.”

Maker! I hope that's a tail! ;) Now off to read the article....

Good article, all the information is brought together nicely, but....
"The Marches themselves are an excellent place to mold Hawke into a warrior and a man capable of taking on heroics beyond that of normal men."

Let me fix this for you:
'The Marches themselves are an excellent place to mold Hawke into a warrior and a man or woman capable of taking on heroics beyond those of normal people.'

There you go. ;) Just because Bioware has decided to completely ignore the fact that Hawke might be a woman in their PR campaign, doesn't mean the rest of us should, if only so Mary Kirby doesn't have to keep coming onto the forum to tell irritated people that there's still gender choice.

I agree with errant_knight, it's a little tiring to read about how much of a man Hawke is, and apparently it is actually confusing people. I've had to reassure people more than once that you are allowed to pick genders in this game.

That may be true technically, but I highly doubt most people immediately think "man OR woman" when they read or hear the word "man."  Hence the confusion mentioned by errant_knight and myself.

It was probably the sole use of the pronoun 'he' in the article that led to the confusion. ;)

People surmise the strangest stuff out of the littlest information possible, I've found.
