PS- Much of Thedas's people/races are inspired by real-life past cultures... so it's not like my point doesn't apply.

Of course your point applies, although I'd say over-stepping the "standard" definition of tyrant-generals.

In our history there are very few cases where a person with Sten's circumstances comes to power. Meaning someone without nobility or political leverage, who was not ALREADY in a generalesque position, who butchered AN ENTIRE FAMILY!! <do to sheer laziness   -In "our" history, most heinous acts are commited in a coup or once already in power.

But as I said, yes, your points are valid.

Not that it matters since Sten died in Loathering. Posted Image

Now that is an ancient rpg community thing, for both pen & paper and c(a)rpg:

a npc dies and a vast number of players actually only believe it
when someone presents them the rotting corpse.

With Sten's death it is like with Duncan in Return To Ostagar, only that you'll
come across the weirdest Dragon Age: Twighlight Zone theories when
you google the worldwide  boards for Duncan's fate.
