Now, don't get me wrong--I am fully aware that a majority of the old team can die in Dragon Age: Origins, and the return of any to Dragon Age 2's party is slim to none.

That being said, there are 3 party members (correct me if I'm wrong, but Morrigan, Oghren, and Sten) that you cannot kill within the game (yes, you can leave Sten in his cage "to die", but I am unsure if the game explicitly states that Sten does die if you keep him in his cage. If not, Bioware could easily work around that detail).

So, while I think it's unrealistic to bring anyone back, who would you have loved to see rejoin your team in Dragon Age 2? The realistic choices for me are Morrigan and Sten, while the unrealistic choices for me are simply Leliana.

To my knowledge, those threads are "which characters would you like to have for your Dragon Age 2 party", not "which characters would you like to see return"...

I could see why people could think it's not enough of a difference to merit a full on discussion...

No you can kill Sten. If you ****** him off enough. Unlike Oghren the game recognizes him as dead when you duel him.

Morrigan is the only safe bet.

Would you be upset if my answer was "none?"

DA2 will star a different character, who wouldn't have the emotional connection to any of these characters that the Warden did.  I look forward to meeting new characters.  That being said, it'd be neat to meet Morrigan again, though I'm not sure if that would lead to her actually joining the team.

Well...with respect to Oghren, he was unkillable in DA:O, but it is possible for him to die in one of DA:A's epilogues.

Since there is some overlap between the two games, it is *possible* to see familiar faces in the early game (the game apparently starts in Lothering), but hopefully cameos wouldn't be overused, either.

Sigrun was cute and very likable. Totally wasted character, of all the characters outside of Morrigan, I'd like see her return and get more of a main role than an obsure party member in an expansion pack. Oghren isn't cute, he isn't funny, he isn't likable, he is just a stupid ****** who shouldn't have had heart failure.

Oghren would be great to have along. But there'll only be brief cameos from the old DA:O crew.

I wouldn't want any of those, but the one I would be most inclined to have along would be Sten.

Hmm, maybe I should mention that in another thread, I said I would love to see a cameo of Nathaniel. It'd make sense at least, as he was in Kirkwall (IIRC) for a while.

Yeah that would be fairly glorious since he did spend some time in the Free Marshes

I don't want them to appear at all as such, but it would be nice if some/all did.

Short answer to OP's question: All of them except Zevran.

None

Seeing Flemeth again, having DAO choices carry over and perhaps meet a familiar nonparty NPC is enough for me. I'd like DA2 to move in it's own direction and not have DAO references shoved in my face at every turn.

I'd like to see a restored Shale, Zevran and Leliana, maybe Sten. Personally I've had enough of Alistair, Oghren and Wynne and I'd like to see Morrigan resloved in an expansion. I'd like to see more of Sigrun and Anders too.

Agree,
Meeting with any DA:O character as Hawke wouldn't be the same. He has no emotional connection for them like it was mentoined. Though I'd love to see some DA:O character in DA2.:)
Morrigan, Alistar, Lelianna mostly.

Morrigan cameo for plot reasons involving the Old God baby and a Warden cameo where we hear of his exploits. Maybe he tells his tale and changes Hawke's life forever(In a tavern of course).

*EDIT

And an Alistair cameo if he became king, or whoever is currently leader of Fereldan.

I'd love to run into my Warden and Leliana during their adventure. Maybe they help out in an important battle or something, it just be nice to see them again.

None. Maybe Morrigan with a cameo and Alistair if he's king but that's it.

Even though he is Awakenings, it would be nice (and make sense) if Hawke encounters Nathaniel in the Free Marches.

If I could choose a DAO character to return it would be Zevran. A good assassin is hard to find.

NONE. It is my wish that I do not even see a cameo of ANY of the characters from Origins. The most of a 'return' that I would like to see is an obscure reference to Sandal in a book somewhere.

Truth be told? None. I really want Hawke's story to stand alone. Yes, mentions of the Warden Commander's exploits and the state of Fereldan thanks to the Warden's actions are fine, but, the Warden's companions are the "Warden's Companions"; there really isn't any need for Hawke to come in contact with them. We know Flemeth is an important part of the story, and may even be a Companion character, however I still don't see the need to come across, say, Morrigan. The only thing I would like similar to Origin's companions would be an older character like Wynne, but one that I could Romance. Flemeth doesn't count given the whole "Demonic Possession" thing. Wynne was full of courage, wisdom, compasion, and was, if I may be so bold, kind of a Milf.

I want to see all of them with the warden at some point, or who ever you had in your party with your warden

Wow...a lot of "none" answers. That's surprising, given the amount of love for returning members in, say, the Mass Effect games.

It's understandable though, since the main characters of these two games are changing, but for those who say none...not even a cameo? Or perhaps an influential story role (I'm looking at you two, Morrigan and Nathaniel)? I would love to see some of the fellas I came to know and love, you know, you re-immerse me in the Dragon Age universe, and not separate me from it with similar themes (ala the Final Fantasy Tactics games, for example).

The attachment to the notion of "the Warden's party, not Hawke's party" is puzzling to me, since it seems like Bioware is essentially pushing the Warden aside. Who'd want to see those beloved party members pushed aside as well?

That's a great find! I think you are on to something there.
