Looking forward to the whole "frame story" device! I wonder what the whole dire threat of upcoming war is about? The Qunari? Orlesians vs. someone? Another holy war between the "white" and the "black" Chantries?
Can't wait to learn more!

Story is really interesting and the way it will be told seems like a legend we are going to fill in. Well at least we have a proper story to write from the start. Can't wait for exploring Hawke's life.
About combat, what I heard is sated my concerns. Instant actions and response. At Origins , one thing about combat was ranged mobs like Hurlock Emissary and such had a big advantage about the gap between character and themselves. Example : Until my warrior target and attack the Emissary , he got Curse Of Mortality ( no heals ) probably weakness , some normal attacks and ofcourse fireball which is a knockout and bam until my warrior position and attack the emissary , nearly half of his life drained. I can hear '' thats why companions there for you '' and yes , one can deal with the mages etc.
I can understand '' They are mages , they dont have much armor , they need these skills '' and I have no problem with that. My problem was the late response and until the actually hit , the loss of time and possible damage taken. From what I understand , this late response become more instant like '' Hey you , go kill that mage '' and that companion will just charge in and take care of it.
And of course the spellcasting improvements sounds cool too '' Raining fire from above '' sound cool
I am happy that tactics are still there too. Even though combat sounds more action based, there is still strategic value in it and thats what makes it great.
Smarter enemies ? Looks like we have to save more frequintly.
I hope we will see a Sequel worthy of Dragon Age : Origins , Fingers crossed.

Also it sounds like far from (as some have suggested) "dumbing it down," they are rather increasing the complexity of the game, by increasing the depth of character and party development and its effect on combat applications.

Is the DA podcast a regular thing? As in, can we look forward to more of them and is there a schedule or do you just release them as they come?

I agree with someone above, it's sounds far from "dumbing down." Easier, but more complex. And I'm being reminded about the Princess Bride and Alpha Protocol with that "legend" idea. And DAO tranfering to future games to cause far-reaching effects?

And these words here are why I think this game is gonna rock. Whatever Hawke did to get the Chantry's dander up, whether they are messing around with the Fade, Old Gods, Maker etc or futzing around with the political landscape sounds like the stuff of Exalted Marches. It seems like a big difference between the Warden and Hawek could end of being the difference between the warden defending the status quo and Hawke changing it, for better or worse.
