Nice podcast though

It was a remix of "I Am The One" from the DAO soundtrack. It's sounded like a porno 'bow chikka bow wow mix' to me kinda
EDIT: Beaten to the punch, still was right on it being the remix, just didn't know the name/track number,

Well if this podcast is anything to go by female Hawke is little but an after thought.
Or its just easier to refer to a character by one gender rather than repeatedly saying him or her.

Edited to add: I'm also glad that there was pronoun useage in this dialogue was better than it has been. I hope the his or her/she or he phrases continue to be emphasized.

I really liked the idea of future games, beyond DA2, still referencing the player's decisions that happened long before.

They specifically mention it in the pod cast the pause in combat is still there. Whatever you've heard, someone pulled your leg.Todd23 wrote...
The combat is better? I heard they've gotten rid of pause and play, this combination makes the possibility of 2 player action, or online action... hint hint.
(there's also older thread in this forum with plain response from a dev, stating the game remains a single player experience)

I think it's just easier to refer to Hawke as "him" as the iconic image we've seen so far is male. He does mention that Hawke can be a female too, but things like gender tend to be set in your mind very early on. I plan on playing a female my first playthrough and I still think of Hawke as a "him" at this stage.

Even as a guy, having a female PC that is referred to as "Hawke" sounds really cool...

They aren't getting rid of pause.
And it's single player.

Especially if "lady" is inserted before Hawke.

While I understand your concern with this, you do realize that such word usage is technically grammatically incorrect? The correct grammar is to assume the gender of the speaker. Not that it really matters, but it is something that irks me just a bit, there being people deliberately calling for poorer grammar in the marketing.Deviija wrote...
I hope the his or her/she or he phrases continue to be emphasized.

It's really just natural speaking. Mike and I talked about gender usage and agreed that it would be tough to keep tripping over "he or she" and "him or her" all the time. So he called out "she" once, but spoke naturally from that point on, and we defaulted to he.
Design knows that characters can and will be either sex, so the parts where that will influence the game are developed in unison, with no priority given to one or the other.

By the way, thanks for the podcast. Rather than download it, I simply listened to it and it was pretty informative.
Can't wait for more. Keep up the exceptional work, and thank Mike for me.
