Marrying Alistair as Non-Noble......

I know it is possible to persuade him not to break up, because I just did an hour ago, but I was using the Polygamy mod and in the Epilogue I got the ending where Leliana is my lover, not Alistair.
So I would like to know if it makes sense to romance him again and end all other relationships to get an epilogue where the warden (elf mage) and Alistair are married or if that won´t happen anyways.

If the two of you go off into the sunset wardening, who knows?

That's all for a non-human noble female, of course.

Alistair, from what I can see, will not marry you (i.e. make you queen) if you are not a noble. My first playthrough was an an Elf and he wouldn't do it. The only way I could be with him was to make him stand-down from the throne and run off into the sunset as Grey Wardens. And he super loved me, too.
Sorry to break the bad news
I managed to make him stay with me and ingame he said that he is gonna do what he wants as king, that means he will marry my Warden, that much is clear.
What I wondered is whether the epilogue is supposed to say so and I didn´t get it because of polygamy mod, or whether it will never be written in the epilogue but always left to your imagination.

I'm reasonably sure that his doing what he wants is keeping your PC as his mistress. He'll marry someone suitable to make an heir.
If you import that character into Awakenings his dialogue will be different than if you import a HNF that married him. He'll not refer to you as his wife but 'my love'.
He'll only marry a HNF (unless there's a mod to change that - which there probably is ;-) )

He won't propose on his own. Your PC always has to do the driving (er, so to speak).
Edit - spelling is gud

You want to be Queen you have to show no hesitation about killing Loghain and announce that you will rule with Alistair.Gemaphrodite wrote...

And you have to "harden" him too. He won't marry you, even if you're a human Noble, if you don't harden him.

Yes he will (I'm 99.9% sure). I believe as long as he's not hostile an HNF will get the chance to announce that she'll rule with him.
The exception to this is if you allow alistair to fight Loghain. In this case, only an HNF that he loves will have the chance, otherwise he grabs the crown for himself and there is no option to pick ruling together.
Hardening determines whether he will keep you on as mistress, not whether you can rule with him.

What? I married him as a HNF my first playthrough and didn't even know hardening him was possible. He won't preserve your relationship if you don't become Queen if he's not hardened but all you need to marry him as a HNF who didn't initially offer to spare Loghain is him in love or decent persuasion (if he's in love the persuasion option doesn't show up or so I've heard).Sabariel wrote...

Odd. I've never been able to get him to marry a human noble without hardening him first.

Untrue. If Alistair is in love, hardened or not, he will automatically agree to the marriage. If it's a political marriage, it's a harder persuade check and slightly higher approval needed if he's not hardened (a hardened Alistair will marry a hostile warden, unhardened the warden needs to be at least neutral).
Edit: Zevran has the nicer proposal. Oh yeh, that's right

Then you're not picking, "Alistair will rule and I'll rule beside him." If I can get him to marry my warden at -25 neutral unhardened (which I can), then the only explanation is your'e not picking the correct dialog.
Edit: Besides, I know for a fact that it's an automatic pass of the persuade check in this circumstance. I have no clue why it doesn't work for you if your'e picking the correct dialog.

Did you pick the option 'Alistair will rule and I will beside him'? This can only be decided at the Landsmeet, mind you, and anything afterwards is deciding if you're breaking up or staying on as mistress.Sabariel wrote...

But I did pick that option every single time and every single time he basically told me that I was unfit to produce his heir and kicked me to the curb. He'd only marry my HNF if he was hardened.ejoslin wrote...

Yup. Every time and every time he told me to eff off. I had to harden him and pick that dialogue option before he would marry my HNF.Sarah1281 wrote...

Again, he will marry a neutral warden unhardened with a hard persuade check. I have no clue what is going wrong with your games. But according to the code, if he's in love, it's an automatic pass for a human noble female.
You don't get the talk about "not being able to have kids" unless you just pick, "Alistair will be king." and not "Alistair will be king and I will rule beside him."
Besides, if he DOES reject you at the landsmeet, a HNF gets very different responses than the other races.
Edit: Now, he has to be in LOVE, not at Adore, for the automatic persuade pass. Otherwise, you can fail if your persuade isn't high enough, but you still have different dialogs.
Anyway, if he's not in love, the only real difference is how high your persuade skill is. Oh, and if he's hostile, you have to have him hardened, though it would be REALLY difficult to have a hardened, hostile Alistair.
