"I installed the patch this morning but now DA:O freezes on me after I
select Resume or New Game and it loads for about 20 secs. I tried
clearing the system cache and reinstalling but same result. I'm on one
of the new Xbox360 S models, not sure if that has something to do with
it. Am I the only one having issues?"I also am playing on the 360 Slim.
Dragon Age disconnected me this morning both from its servers and XBox Live while I was playing, then informed me there was a new patch and asked if I wanted to update? So, of course, I did. Naturally this involved restarting the game.
It wouldn't load my last save.
It wouldn't load the autosave.
It wouldn't load any save on the current character.
It wouldn't load any save on any other character.
I tried flushing the game's cache by holding A as it loaded. No change.
I tried flushing the HDD system cache and re-updating the game. No change.
I tried physically disconnecting from the home network, flushing the HDD system cache and playing the original, completely unpatched game. THIS WORKED!
I have never knowing glitched/cheated, because I haven't looked this game's walkthrough up - I just want to play it without foreknowledge - but I did Google to see if outhers were having this problem and read that there were indeed glitches that could cause corruption. However, my saves are not corrupted, since they load if the game is unpatched.
It's not an issue with the game cache, since I cleared it, and it's not a faulty download of the patch (unless it failed on both occasions, which seems unlikely). This leaves the update itself, which means its EA/Bioware's problem. I'm going to have to play this game unpatched, offline, while I hunt for my achievements and HOPE they don't mess up when I do go online to update my LIVE-stored profile data.
Please fix this?
