how it passed cert i dont know as they obviously didnt test it or so many wouldnt be having the same issue. i have asked 6 of my friends who play. some have new slim some norm and some elites but all have the same issue. we all live in the uk so i dont know if its a uk/europe thing or not.

oh wow. maybe i spoke too soon about Sony taking to long to cert. Seems you xbox people are having issues with the new patch. thats not good for you or us PS3 people. if there's an issue that may make it take longer for ps3 to get the patch until things are fixed. sorry to hear you xbox users are having problems.

YES. THE PATCH IS BROKEN (AT LEAST FOR THE NEW XBOX 360). IT FREEZE IF YOU LOAD SAVES OR START NEW GAME. I JUST BOUGHT LELIANA'S SONG, STARTED IT AND MIDDLE OF THE LOADING, FREEZE. BIOWARE, PLEASE FIX THIS SO WE CAN PLAY THE GAME.

Thank god I read this before downloading the patch!!!



Poor show - after so long waiting for the patch, and then the authentication, for it to break saves in a seemingly more fatal way than before...



Questions:



1. Are all x-boxes affected?

2. If you uninstall the patch, do your save games become playable?

3. Has anyone had any success yet?





Will wait until someone from bioware comments on whether there is a workaround.

I'm in Australia, just downloaded the update and same issue for the 360.



I did find that when I disconnected from Xbox Live it popped up an error in the main menu stating that all my DLC was corrupt.



To try and fix the issue, i've:



*Uninstalled and reinstalled the game

*Removed and redownloaded all DLC

*Cleared the system cache and redownloaded the update (at first I thought it may have been a corrupted download)



Nothing seems to have fixed it so far.

I had to redownload the Edge, but everything has worked absolutely fine for me. No problems at all so far. I'm on an old 360 Elite, in the UK and have the game installed to the HD.

Ok, for 360 users there is a workaround to be able to actually play your saves-



Go to System Settings > Memory > Press Y on your main storage device > Select Clear Cache



Load DA:O, choose no to download the update, and you may get an error stating your DLC is corrupt.



If that is the case, go back into System Settings > Memory > Storage Device > Games > Dragon Age Origins > Delete your DLC.



Load the game again, and let it install the patch. From the main menu, redownload your DLC, but DO NOT load a saved game.



Go back to the System Settings and clear the System Cache again. Load up DA:O and don't install the update. You should be able to load your games without any problems. I'm currently playing offline, with my saves and DLC.



It appears that the update may corrupt your DLC when you try and load a game with the update installed.

Lol so it corrupts your dlc and saves? This reminds me of the last patch that was suppose to fix achievements but actually broke stuff instead.

I tried to play Crackdown 2 for achievements before I sell it, but I couldn't. I think I have a problem... but it cant be helped !!! Nothing works for me!! I REALLY hope it has nothing to do with it being slim, (as it seems a couple elites and originals are messing up too) BIOOOOWWWAAAAARRRRREEEEEEE I BEG THEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was playing this morning logged out for lunch when i re logged DAO update, re loaded gamesave 10sec load then it freezes my xbox (slim). Come on Bioware/ Microsoft sort it out!!.

just cleared me systems cash and tried to play offine but just tld me me dlc was corrupt. was thinkin about getting more dlc but glad i didnt now.

the same stuff happend on ninja gaiden 2 were they made a patch to a problem that didnt exist

Don't expect a reply anytime soon the pc users have been complaining about problems with the update since early monday with no reply from EA/Bioware.

I've just spoken to the EA live support, and they are now aware of the issue and have esculated the issue.



They also asked for links to this thread, as I explained it was a common issue. Hopefully we'll have a response shortly.



In the meantime, It appears that the DLC is corrupted when you attempt to load a saved game with the update installed.



Follow the steps I posted above, and you will at least be able to play offline.
