Question though. Can anyone confirm that the old XBox 360s are not affected (mine's a Falcon chipset 20GB HD model, so pre-Elite and pre-Slim)? I'm a bit wary of updating, cache clearing or no (not to mention I'll have to physically pull my internet connection from my PC and connect my 360 to use XBox Live).

For Xbox 360 Slim and Elite users, we are aware of the issue with the patch and are working toward a resolution. QA has been posting updates to the Tech Support forum, and we will let you know when we are close to a fix.
I'm using the new xbox 360 slim and yes I can't play the game with the new patch without it freezing.

Just got done checking out the new patch. Bows still only get .3 damage modifier and nows daggers are the same (.3). Crossbows still jacked up with no damage modifier from either dex or str. Oh well I guess:'(
Are you sure about this? I seem to notice an increase in dagger damage at least. I haven't tried bows.

I am still awaiting the ps3 patch, however, if this is true, I think i am officially done with this game

Well, if daggers were getting .0 from dex before and now are getting .3, you would notice an increase in damage, however, it is not the .5 that they are supposed to be getting and currently get on the pc version.
This has been the single most polarizing issue for me in regards to this game. These errors are essentially typos in config files, and it has taken 10 months for Bioware to fix typos and now apparently not have even fixed them correctly.
PC users with the toolset were able to fix within 20 minutes when they suffered this issue.

Sure, it should have been easy to fix. However, the increase (whatever the exact number is) does make a dex based rogue noticeably better from what it was, so I am satisfied, actually. Maybe if they have to make a new patch to fix the freezing issue they will correct this as well?

I would like to think so....but experience has taught me not to expect the best case scenario.

You may see a damage increase with daggers at low level but if your a str or cun build the damage you will do will be lower with the patch then before as soon as your str/cun exceeds your dex.
Before patch if your stats were say 70 cunning/35 dex
you would get all your damage bonus from 60 cunning.
With patch it becomes (60+25)/2 = Only 42.5 damage bonus from stats
10 Cunning/25 dex
Before patch 0 damage bonus from cunning
After patch (0+15)/2 = 7.5 damage bonus from stats
If your stats are 25 cun/24 dex
Before patch 15 bonus from cun
With patch (15+14)/2 =14.5 damage bonus from stats
The patch really is only a good thing for those who want to make dex based DW rogues, the other two builds were better off without it.

I was one of the people defending Bioware/EA on the last few patch problems (stuff happens, you know?) - but not this time. How could this patch/update get out with this kind of issue? It's really unforgivable. It renders the game completely unusable. Thanks to Orbytel for the cleaning tip - but all that accomplishes is giving you the ability to create a new game with NO DLC, no ability to load existing games. Still worthless.
And while we're venting - what's with with Microsoft's policy of "If you don't patch, then you don't get to be online"? That may make sense for online games (level playing field and all that), but they need level of patch that is OPTIONAL.

Chalk up another dead system. 360 Slim, DLC corrupted, loads and new games lock up the console.

I agree with you garden girl %100
Guess I will need to wait a little longer to play Leliana's Song
