Mine will definitely be female, but I'm still debating between mage or warrior. Do I want to fry enemies to a crisp or break their faces against my shield...

I myself will more than likely start with a Female Rogue, I always play Rogues, and I generally choose females because the mod community does a really good job of making clothing and armors for females I think.

Female for all my playthroughs, and probably rogue first and mage second. Depends on my companions and how mages and rogues play in DA2.

OMG me too! xD I end up micro-managing Morrigan and letting my PC use their AI tactics whenever I don't have a mage as my main character. I just haven't bothered to learn their abilities so I am pretty bad at warriors/rogues.
So...female mages ftw!

It depends on who has the more interesting story. Since you can't be an elf I'll likely go with a mage (probably female).

Probably female rogue first in order to use the companions to see how mages play, since spell selection is very important, and I doubt for all of BioWare's posturing that there will be spells that aren't worth getting.
On the other hand, DAO shipped with that dagger bug which made playing a rogue hell at the time, so I dunno. Might be safer to go warrior. Not like there are any origin class restrictions anymore...

Wouldn't this be better as a poll?
Anyway, my first character will be a mage. I'm not sure what gender, it depends upon the character customisation options. Probably male.
My second character will be of the opposite gender to the first, and will be a warrior, most likely.

Definitely going to be female.
Unsure if I'll be a rogue or mage first. Probably rogue first if lock-picking for all classes isn't implemented so I know where I need to bring the party rogue(s) when I run as a class that can't pick locks.

Probably a female mage. First playthrough in Origins I was a two-handed weapon warrior woman, but after I tried out a mage I found it was more exciting, and more powerful. I just love freezing everyone to death and then throwing fireballs at them.

You should include aligments in this.
My first charrie will almost certainly be a Neutral Evil male (blood)mage, and my second a Chaotic Good female rogue. I usually plan the characters so they make the opposite choices, and I get to experience the entirety of the story.

I wonder if it'll still be warrior/rogue/mage with specializations, or if they're going to change it up a bit. But assuming it is the same, either male warrior or male mage for me. Not sure yet. I'd prefer mage, but I don't want my character to be redundant with sister Hawke, but I have a feeling she's going to get kidnapped or something in Act 1.

Male warrior first.
Female rogue second.
Some kinda mage last.Assuming I still have the desire to play.
Usually I burn out after the first.

Ladyhawke dual-wielding warrior. Because being a human blender is fun! Possibly rogue but I tended to play my rogues like warriors in origins. Warriors who could lockpick and charm the most stoic of NPCs that is.

I don't think you should restrict yourself based on the sister NPC. Look at it as magic running strong in the Hawke bloodline or something like that.
