I don't think DA2 even has origins. I think all Hawkes will begin in the same place, but depending on your class you'll be treated differently.

I think that's what the OP meant. The question is whether we're a part of the Circle or an apostate if we choose to play a mage. I think it'll make a fairly big impact, considering Kirkwall is so tightly controlled by the Templars. I wonder if they'll find some way to sidestep the issue. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Remember, it's Dragon Age 2, not Dragon Age: Origins 2.

These are some of the dumbest comments I ever read.
By that logic, we should be asking where Dragon Age (1) is at.
DAO was originally called Dragon Age. Origins was added (much) later in order to showcase what seperated the game from practically every other RPG out there (the Origin stories).
I mean no offense, but it does tend to grate on one's nerves.

Being that you escape lothering with your family, and all available mages were at ostagar, my guess and it's just a guess is your an apostate.
Ah yes, but mayhaps you haven't yet found your talent for the arcane? In your "fleeing", all is lost you conjure up a sleeping giant within you?
Come on folks, you don't think some of the very FIRST Q&A at the ye-ole board table answered this?
They know, we don't; and some don't want to know -until the game comes out

It really depends on how you define "origin." OF COURSE Hawke will have an origin. He doesn't just appear out of thin air. His "origin" will likely be established in Lothering. There'll be stuff about his childhood (probably revealed in dialogue with Bethany), and the events in Lothering themselves will be the "call to adventure" that happened in each Origin in DAO.RevengeofNewton wrote...

If you define "Origin" as what DAO had, meaning a variety of introductory plots that established your character before beginning the main plot of the game, then, no, there won't be a variety from which to choose. But everything else is pretty much the same.
It's just that DA2 will have one origin (keeping in mind there will still be plenty of variation within that one origin), while DAO had 6.

Like I said, just a guess. You are correct, we won't know until more comes out or until the game itself is released
