But Adept.....without mods, fails a bit behind in my views, I am playing in Hardcore. M1 import, first playthrough, lv 27, and I am having far easier time than with my adept dealing with badies.
now regarding output....wow....my soldier and vanguard rip through enemies in harcore and have somewhat easier time in insane with the new kestrel armor...the wpm dmg+ (soldiers), and melee + (vanguard).... makes a really good boost, on top of others you can find.
My soldier rips through shields and armor...specially armor now with GSB, improved, commando, and kestrel.
My vanguard same....I mean vanguard is a melee, but even more so now
Infiltrator, never tried it sorry.

Adepts... have sort of fallen from grace - certainly compared to their former OPness. Im just starting one now, but from what I can see so far, and what others have told me, a whole _squad_ of biotics can be terrifyingly effective if you have a good head for tactical coordination, but a lone adept Sheperd on a randomly selected team... you're FAR better off as a sentinel or soldier. at least on Insanity - at lower levels when foes are nice and unarmored, you can totally toss them around like rag-dolls with your glowy blue magical powers.

Vanguards ARE superawesome but they require a very different playstyle from adepts and (most) sentinels - if you're not in someone's face shooting it with a shotgun, you're not playing the class right. Adepts are sort of the poalr oposite of this - if you're right up in someone's face its probably about to kill you; you want to be as far from the bad guys as possible.

True and true.
I know all is repetitive, soldiers, shoot, infiltrators snipe and cloak etc etc etc.
but I passed my vanguard one time, never restarted a game with him... endless charge scenes just got me bored real fast... if after 2 hrs of doing the same thing...shooting just rifles, shooting my smg, as I overload enemies shields, and charge over and over again; if a yawn comes into play in the middle of the afternoon...it aint for me.
Endless Charges dont suit me... I think is the best class nevertheless, easiest one I had time with but just nah.
If ONLY, there was a bonus power that resembled disruptor ammo....WHY are there 3 powers that damg hp? and not a single one that dmgs kinetic shields???....
I am am showing lot of affection for my sentinel...if it only had disruptor ammo....god I would be in heaven.
Since I mod my game
sigh so nice....still I miss my soldier with disruptor ammo.

Sentinels are just unstopable at high levels. Its sick. Reminds me of adepts and Sing. Vangaurds in ME1. Unless you make a bad tactical mistake its hard to touch you.
Adepts can do the same - just pick Barrier as bonus power. You can run around and melee everything to death.

Adepts are just as powerful as in ME1 and even a lonely Shep is more than capable to handle whatever situation he/she runs into - check my sig for some solo Adept videos.
It's true that both the Adept and Sentinel (and Engineer btw) lack firepower early game, making them relatively weak compared to the more combat orientated classes. But after the Collector Ship things are about to change. The caster classes will be stronger (relatively) having both decent weaponry and access to a load of different powers.
Nothing can beat a non-stop charging Vanguard in terms of speed, but I can clear levels faster with an Adept than all the other classes.

Yeah it's possible on the adept. However, the sentinel's assault armor is so much better. The knockdown, the 50% bonus shields when it goes down and most importantly the better cooldown with the guardian spec.

I love adepts. However I do think they were stronger in ME1 because biotics affected shields and you can start with an assault rifle on a second playthrough.

Senintels build up fast with the kasumi DLC. Once you max assault and have the cooldowns, it makes up for the lack of firwepower.

Of course is the Assault Armor better, it's a Sentinal's unique power and the knockdown is awesome. The Kasumi dlc allows to have the tech cooldown reduction before Horizon (which is great due to the long AA cooldown) - Adepts can get the biotic upgrade(s) right after Horizon though I don't really care much about the extra 20% cooldown reduction except when using Barrier.
There're certain similarities - both the Adept and Sentinel can use Warp and Throw, but I prefer having Pull and Singularity. Sentinels have Overload and Cryo Blast. Overall I think Sentinels are better at taking down defenses and Adepts shine when it comes down to battlefield control.
The best thing about Sentinels and Adepts is their versatility. You like the Sentinel - didn't you post a vid fighting at the Dantius Towers recently? I like biotics, hell I even tried to make my Shep look like an Asari and I consider it blasfemy for Asari to mess with any sort of tech ability

Haha I sure did post a sentinel vid:) Personally the only tech powers I use are the armor and energy drain. I prefer the biotic and combat side of a sentinel more. I like the adept a lot as well. It's a class I always defend when people whine that it's nerfed on insanity. The sentinel feels more like the adept I played on ME1, with it's barrier lasting a long time. Though I haven't tried being as agressive with an adept as I was on a sentinel. Maybe I should after I watch some of your vids. I never tried a shotgun on an adept.
I used to like pull better than throw, because pull allows for biotic combos, but I've also learned to love throw field as well.
I'm with ya on using tech on an adept RP wise. I guess thats why I usually play a sentinel.

I've found that when you activate barrier (after you have upgraded to the Redundant Shield Regenerator) the instant restore is more likely to occur.
I never knew this. I'll check it out.

So if you have better tech upgrades (read: cooldown), use GSB first.

I think Pull (especially Pull Field) is one of the best powers around - fast cooldown and it can take out multiple enemies at once plus Warp explosions. But from an aesthetic point of view I'll go for Throw - love to toss people around. It's also possible to perform a Pull-Throw combo. Hitting someone with Throw when they're being Pulled doubles the Throw effect - you can propel enemies into the air with tremendous force, and it's really cool to see someone falling back down 10 s after being hit - 'Samara look; it's raining Eclipse'

Also, unless you intend to evolve barrier (on an adept) early, it's functionally identical to geth shield boost. So if you have better tech upgrades (read: cooldown), use GSB first.
Good point, does the Adept's passive work on tech abilities too? The description only mentions a biotic cooldown reduction. But if it does (have to try this) GSB is great on the way to Horizon.

Bump, after all the hard work in experimenting with different rgba values - people are still making fun of Asari Shepard. Seriously, its really hard to get it right. ME2 uses different lighting effects, so sometimes you think you're done it: Shep looks like an Asari (more or less), but going somewhere else makes her look, well - [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/andy.png[/smilie] - oh never mind.
I just fell in love with biotics so much I just imagine Bubblegum Crisis to be some sort of rare Asari. Maybe an Ardat Yakshi with a serious Minagen X3 problem - you know the stuff the delusional Volus used before trying to be an Adept (end of Samara's recruitment mission - one of my favourite moments in ME2, I always encourage the Volus to demonstrate his new found biotic powers. It's a perfect distraction, captain Wasea will consider Shep to be another biotic wannabe - but she'll be death before realizing she made a mistake). No, but you can get 3 tech upgrades before Horizon, so... (Kasumi's LM, Garrus RM and one at the Citadel)

Same here, I never really looked into this, but I do believe the passive also reduces cooldown on ED. At least thats what I (perhaps mistakingly) suspected. GSB is a good power to test coz of its long cooldown. Does anyone knows how this works with a Sentinel? They can use both biotic and tech powers - though they've got a shield instead of a barrier (like the Adept and Vanguard). I always thought Sentinel's passive reduced both - one of the main strengths of the Sentinel class.
The Defender skill, for sentinels, certianly does.
Biotic Mastery 'says' it reduces the cooldown of your biotic powers. But then, adepts don't /have/ anything else, so maybe its just a change in description and not a difference in what the power actually does.

Then they have to process it before it becomes available, which will probably take another 15 minutes or so, or about 45 minutes for 720p ...
And it's 11:30pm here, so I'm unlikely to post the link before the morning.
