I like how people say Jacob whines or is boring, yet they love Garrus: Whines about his team being killed and that's all you can pretty much talk to him about, besides him talking about his calibrations. Hell Jacob saved the damn council and was a corsair, yet Jacob gets the boot. lol
There is nothing going on with Jacob. He's just there. Also, he loses out on the cool factor of being not only a bro, but an ALIEN bro.
if you had to let three squadmates die who would they be?

I disagree. Garrus opens up to Shepard, and we see a lot of his snarky, sarcastic humor, as well as his vigilantism and alarmingly unrealistic ambition. These qualities shine in his missions and conversations (even though there aren't that many to begin with). Jacob, on the other hand, refuses to open up, and even when you bring up his father after his loyalty mission, he flat out refuses to talk about it; refuses to show emotions; refuses to show character. He remains the stoic soldier with the unreasonable distrust of solely Thane.
Garrus might be calibrating through half the game, but in the half that he's not, he shows AEONS more character than Jacob ever did.

Samara for some of the same reasons, but also to spare her another few hundred years being broken inside for killing all 3 of her daughters.
Jack. I think I got to know her pretty well, but since I didn't romance her, she didn't have that healing. So she is still pretty twisted and bitter inside, but I think letting her go out doing something good for once will leave her to rest in peace. Guess it's my way showing her that she is better than her past.
Honestly, it's a tough choice, because despite their quirks, I really like everyone on my team.

There's nothing to talk about with his father, He'd stop talking to his father 3 years before his ship disappeared and then he's distracted because of his reappearance. also you can ask about he and Miranda's relationship and he gets emotional about it and blames himself. He's also there for Shepard and asks Shepard if he/she needs to vent about things in their past, so really Jacob listens better than any other squadmate who only just dump their problems oh Shepards laps and go "FIX IT!"FlyinElk212 wrote...

ME2:
Jack has too much baggage.
Zaeed is a pita. I only recruit him for the extra defender on the final mission.
Jacob.is just useless, The character is decent, but there is always a better option for the slot in a squad.
If I could do their personal mission without taking them along, they'd never leave their spot on the ship.

The simple fact that Jacob came clean about Cerberus and the Illusive Man on the Cerberus base at the beginning of the game is proof enough for me that he would be an honest, loyal addition to my crew. When the chips are down and the s*** is hitting the fan, I know for a fact that he'll have my back. He was FAR more welcoming than that Cerberus b!tch( who I STILL don't trust). Jacob NEVER dies in any of my playthroughs.......I can't say the same for Miranda, Jack and Zaeed.

Thane because he is already dying, the other two because I really don't know them. Pretty obvious decision for me.

-- Thane [he's "terminal" anyway]
-- Jacob [he's important to the plot how?]
-- Jack [she's a powerful biotic but what other function does she serve?]

Jack: Unlikable. Mentally unstable.
Zaeed: Nuts. Gets everyone killed.

Miranda's been in cerberus for most of her adult life, hell Cerberus kept her safe formher father and you go around saying F Cerberus (and possibly undermine them during ME2) but when the Chips are down she chosoes Shepard (blow up the collector base with her in your party, loyal or not and she gives TIM a middle finger and quits) so really both the initial cerberus people are good and Ir eally don't see how Miranda gets hated when she's the most valuable member of your crew besides shepard.Prince of Kemet wrote...

2) Jack. Just somebody angry who I never had on my squad and never interacted with outside of the loyalty mission that I delayed doing. Outside of a Cerberus guinea pig, I have no use for her.
3) Samara: "there is only The Code," is pretty annoying. A pretentious asari who kills people when they don't fit HER viewpoint of what constitutes a good person. Who might turn on Shepard. No thank you!
