Zaeed because he's an all talk wannabe.

Samara for no real reason aside from that I can't stand her.

And Grunt, so that we can have our token Krogan be the far superior Wrex again.

Jack, because she's a total psycho.

Zaeed, because he's a borderline war criminal.

Thane. I like him, but his days are numbered anyway, and I think he'd prefer to go out in a blaze of glory than in a coughing, wheezing wreck in a hospice.

I never save Morinth in my "canon" playthrough, but if I did, she would take Thane's place.

Grunt didn't exactly make a good first impression, but he's still young and impressionable, and I have faith that he'll wise up under Wrex's leadership of Clan Urdnot.

Small bump, this is a great thread.

I'm guessing jacob will be gone in ME3, judging by the amount of people who hate him.

I actually hope this is an option in ME3. Either the crew needs to escape and someone needs to hold off the ground troop bad-guys, or the big finale is a multilateral mission where one part is a suicide mission (And the real definition of a suicide mission, not the Bioware definition where everything is fine if you upgrade the guns and resolve everyone's problems). it would totally amp up the tension and would be a good successor to the Virmire choice.

My choices would probably be:

Miranda, Thane, and Zaeed. Not because I dislike them, I like all the characters (Even Jacob *gasp!*), but in character they'd be the best choices to get the job done.

Miranda: My god what a ****. I can't stand her at all, it's like talking to a piece of cardboard. She has the likability of a orphanage fire.

Samara: Meh. Fairly boring character, I get the feeling she's only there so that she can be the Biotic on the Suicide Mission.

Jacob: Heavy risk... but no prize. The most boring and lifeless character ever concieved. He could have only been worse as an Elcor, and even then it would have been better - atleast we would have had our first Elcor squadmate. Then again he wouldn't have to state his emotion before he said something, because he doesn't have any.

Jacob actually has alot of potential with the right tweeking. Kinda reminds me of how Garrus was in ME1, very raw and undeveloped. They developed Garrus into a Rambo Renegade and boom, we got an exciting character. I expect bioware to do the same for Jacob in ME3.

Jack: She just bugs me. As a male shep, just being nice unlocks the romance option. So if you don't want that to happen, you have to be a jerk to her, and then she hates you. But, as soon as you tell her your not interested in a romance, she hates you. My first playthrough she died (I didn't have final armor upgrade, I was leaving to get it when they made me take a shuttle), second playthrough she is mad at me in the end (but still loyal).

Zaeed: Yeah, he is basically bordering on a war criminal, heck, he started the blue suns, a horrible merc group, I don't like the guy.

Jacob: I don't hate him, and can't say I don't get along with him. But just because he was so "meh". He seems to mostly just want glory and to get recognized, so if it was a suicide mission (and suicide was the only option, not sending a tech expert for instance), he would probably volunteer, and I would let him, the other companions are much more useful in terms of metagaming, and more interesting in terms of RP'ing.

Ones I would absolutely not send to die: Miranda, Garrus, Samara, Mordin, Legion, Tali. (Grunt would relish the impossible battle, Thane is close to dying anyway)

Thane: He is near death anyway, why not let him go earlier?

Legion: I think Legion is totally awesome, but IMO a synthetic "life" is less valuable to an organic one.

Zaeed: I never forgave him for his actions during his loyalty mission, he doesn't care about anyone.

Mordin is freakin' geriatric anyways by salarian standards. Probably going to die soon anyway.

Thane has one year to live. If BioWare wanted me to care about him, they shouldn't have written him so poorly. He goes too.

I would say Morinth or Ashley next, but both of those worthless idiots are dead anyway. Ashley got burned to a crisp on Virmire, and Morinth had her neck snapped in half by her hot mom. With that in mind, I'd probably give the "you die next" award to Miranda for being the next most worthless idiot. "OMG IM SO PERFECT!" If you're perfect, then why do you look like a varren gnawed on your face for two weeks before using it as a dartboard for six more, and why do you have disgusting silicone breasts?

Kasumi - dislike her as a character, hate her dialogue

Tali - tedious, childish, boring

Grunt - flat archetype

I think the number of people who actively hate Jacob is relatively small. I think more people are apathetic than anything else.

Jack - The tough girl crap gets on my nerves. The idea that she thinks she can take on Commander Shepard is irritating. Shepard would wipe the floor with her.

Zaeed - I actually kinda like him but he's way too severe for me. Besides, I get the feeling that if someone paid him enough, he'd try to kill Shepard.

Thane - He's going to die anyway. Not a big deal to me.

Miranda: TIMs loyal pet with absolutely no self-esteem who somehow thinks she's the one giving the orders. I don't like her and letting her die would actually be in-character for the Shepard I'm currently playing, as her loyalty to Cerberus is very likely to become a problem.

Jacob: not as bad as Miranda, but still, it's hard to tell what side he's really on. It's hard to tell anything about him, actually, but he is still a Cerberus operative, so just in case...

Thane/Zaeed: the former is about to die anyway, so a quick and honorable death might be preferable, the latter is a bastard who deserves a bullet after what he pulled of on Zorya.

Any of them. Oh, please? Take them all if you can. Same from ME1 squadmates. Keep non-squadmate Joker, Dr. Hacksaw, the Custodian (need a good chef), EDI, non-romanced Kelly if she'd stop lying about messages, and the remaining SR-2 crew.

1 Jacob - and before he goes to vents he should fell same thing what miss FalconPunch-bag reporter on Citadel.

2.Zaeed - he is un-turnable to light side merc and honestly after his Lm... smoking gun which can shoot in less proper time.

Rest of current team is free to do whatever they want... but on the other hand Garrus is starting to little ****** me off and that's bad sign for his "potential" future...

1.) Tali - I have Legion now, I don't need some psycho genocide-loving Quarian with a crappy weapon loadout on my team.
2.) Jacob - I swear we're missing someone. Didn't we have some Cerberus guy in the armory? Jonathan or something?
3.) Kasumi - Because they managed to take a master-thief who dresses like a Sith Lord and takes us to the so far only human-controlled planet that's not just a farming colony under attack and still manages to make it BORING.

You can't send Garrus to his death, who would do the calibrations?
