I run Windows 7 64 bit with Internet Explorer 8.

This has always happened to me, but I have had enough so I thought I will post about it and maybe someone can help me.

Everytime I use the Social Bioware site for the forums or try to buy Bioware Points or download a new DLC I ALWAYS have to relog back in with my name and password. Even if I check remember password it will still log me out and make me redo my name and password.

Or when I post in the forums it will say restricted access and I noticed it makes me sign in again with my email and password. I usually have to do this about 3 times before I can actually post something.

I have not had this problem on any other websites it’s just social.bioware.com.

Has anyone else had these problems? If so how to fix it so it will keep me logged in?

Quite a lot of people are having this problem, as a matter of fact, and there is no fix. Unchecking the remember checkbox is the single work-around that works best but it only works for a percentage of people.

Changing browsers has also worked for some people. Not all.

What is your ISP? One of these days someone else with this problem will finally answer this question.

I used to hate this site with a passion until I discovered that unchecking the remember checkbox was how to get it to remember you...

Make sure that your browser of choice is configured to not clear its cache, history and/or passwords.

Have the same problem, I've talked to supposrt twice, both times all I got was a standard noob reply like "clear your cache and browser history" even if I told them in advance that I had already tried that countless times. The people responsible for social.bioware.com obviously have no clue wtf they're doing and should be fired.

This person sounds like they're as frazzled by the problem as I am.

The problem is not with your computer, Lera, it's with this site.

I hope they will fix it or it is caused by them updating stuff. I grow tired of it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

As far as I know, if your ISP is a satellite isp like hughes net, this site does not function properly. And it is clear that the issue is at the bottom of the web developer's priority list.

For those with a regular isp who are having this issue....try not using IE8 and uncheck the remember me box. If that don't work, well, I suspect you're in for a world of frustration.

Nothing personal against the very busy web developers working for Bioware. They seem like nice people. They just don't seem to have any time to invest in fixing a problem that effects a relatively small percentage of their user base. Especially when the problem is not easy to diagnose and likely involves rewriting sections of code that would break the entire site if they introduced any new bugs.

We are the invisible fans, the forgotten, the unnoticed, and the unimportant; for we are few and Bioware's concerns are for the legion.

That is no excuse. My ISP is cox.net, This just started to happen out of the blue. It was working fine and I didn't change a dang thing.

Actually I'd say it happens to a fairly large amount of people. There's usually a thread on this in page 1 of the site help forum on any given day.

BioWare, please, can we have an update on this? At this point even a "we're working on it" would be so nice to hear.

Please, let's not be bumping topics for the purpose of keeping a discussion on the front page. If you have something to add to the conversation, fine, but bumping for the sake of bumping a topic is not appropriate and is considered the same as spamming...

I find the issue no less frustrating than anyone else and finds that it affects me every few days or so. When it does, I simply close my browser down completely (all instances) and then log in again and it remains stable for a few days days ( a little over a week or so). I find doing that less frustrating than trying to log back in immediately on the page I happen to be viewing.

Not an answer, to be sure, but it does releave the stress a bit.

How many different browsers have you guys tried using?
Have you tried changing the security settings, making social.bioware.com a trusted site, etc.?
Do you have any plugins or extensions on your browser that may be affecting the login process?

This seems to be a common problem, but it's odd that not ALL members have encountered it (this issue has never come up for me before), so I'm thinking there must be a common setting or something that's conflicting with keeping you logged in here...

Selene, if that were the extent of the problem I wouldn't complain.

This issue occurs for some of us, literally, every few clicks on the forum. There have been times when I have, without exageration, logged in while viewing the ME2 forum, and the page that loads after the login button is clicked already has me logged out. Once I counted seven attempts before the page loaded with me logged in. And yes, the username and password were unchanged in each attempt and there were no error messages.

And yes, we've looked at IE, FF, Safari....with and without extensions turned off, with and without the domain being a trusted site, on win7, winxp, and on an ipod touch. In fact, from my ipod touch I was able to view the forum quite normally on safari while at the public wifi at the airport. When I came home, the problem manifested itself once more.

I'm think there are two sets of people with issues: those using IE with occasional issues, and those with high latency internet connections (satellite) with serious and frequent problems. My best guess is that there's some kind of security code being used that is set to go wonky if the visitor's ping times are too long. Maybe they are trying to block folks who use proxies to circumvent IP bans or something. And those of us on satellite are just collateral damage.

This began with the creation of the Social Network for ME2 release. ME1 forum didn't have this prob. So if you put 2 and 2 together you'll come up with Cerberus (aka EA). Their surveillance devices are obviously glitching many user interfaces by causing a loop-back in the "Logging you out, Shepard" routine. Not to worry though, rumour has it that ME3 will include an EDI loyalty mission that will allow her to conduct a global bug sweep. This assumes that TIM wasn't your LI and you destroyed the collector base. See! Choices DO matter.

I have found that it is possibly an Internet Explorer issue, at least in my case. I started using Safari for browsing the forums for the past few days, and have not been logged out once with it, while I have been kicked out twice with IE.

I know the problem can happen on explorer, firefox, safari and opera. Not sure about chrome. The problem also seems to fluctuate depending on forum traffic. Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe it's just me, but it seems like at night I have less problems. And sometimes threads that get lots of traffic become nigh impossible to post in for me. I will click the login button 18 times (no joke) and be logged out before the page loads.

It's incredibly frustrating.

I've just ranted about this and then found out what the problem maybe for some reason IE blocks content on this site if you add it into the trusted sites section of IE it seems to fix the issues.  whoever designed this site has put something in the cookies that IE thinks is a serious security issue.  the other thing that worries me is that unlike every other site login isn't performed through SSL it's done through normal HTTP. my main reason for this worry is that thses logins may have access to your card details if you buy bioware points for DLC

I added this site into my trusted sites list both when I was on IE and when I switched to Firefox.

No change. It is not a browser problem for me.

Hmm, perhaps it's a time issue, where there's a bug in the site's code and it doesn't know when exactly your logging in, accessing different pages, etc. Are the time settings correct on your machine?

If not, it might also be an issue with the IP of your computer, you could try setting it up with a new one. Else you could always try logging on through a proxy site to see if it works

Sorry I can't be much more help than that though, without actually seeing the PHP code behind the scenes, these are just more stabs in the dark.
