If you play as a mage-type class, what is your favourite spell? Epic spells included.

For me, it's definately Epic Gate. Summoning a Balor to fight for you is pure win, imo.
I play a Sorcerer btw.

Mordeinkein disjunction is pretty cool.

Weird and Wail of the banshee are awesome as well.

Gate is very good.



All the epics spells are pure win.



For divine caster, you have divine power wich is awesome.

The lvl 9 spell group heal that is pure win, nothing can beat this one, a favored soul with that one is just a monster.

Sunburst is pretty cool, especially in the OC and MOTB.

Dominate Monster. Why settle for a potentially inferior summon when I can use one of those beefy enemies against their own comrades? It also works great with Shadow Simulacrum if I'm feeling cheesy enough to take both as spells known. Nothing quite says "you lose" like making a shadow copy of a tough enemy warrior, then dominating said warrior and sending my two new minions off to clobber everything in my way.

Otherwise, Mass Hold Person & War Cry are pretty nice to deal with melee mobs.

Curse of Impending Blades because the name of the spell amuses me.

Shadow Simulacrum because it is an incredible spell and I just died to a shadowy version of my character last night.

Most of my favorite D&D spells are utility based though, so don't make it into NWN or NWN2.

Hands down Shadow Simulcrum.



-No saving throw.

-Once you are about 17th level nothing is immune to it.



If you have to fight a single powerful creature, there is no better spell.



If you have to fight multiple lesser foes then Wail of the Banshee.

Prismatic Spray, might do nothing, might do something terrible. Ignores death immunity as well, I also love Color Spray as well.

Of course which depends on the situation, at low level sleep is actually pretty good, after i get autoquicken 1, magic missle starts being useful if i spam it than even high level single target spells.

I have a soft spot for Wail of the Banshee and Hellball. I actually really miss having the Great Ruin spell from NWN1 present in NWN2.

Varies from the type of game I play and the build of my character

In MoTB - most used spells are (Maximized) Firebrand, (Empowered) Desintegrate and (Maximized or Empowered) Greater Missle Storm on a single target. Vampiric Feast and Epic Gate are also pretty usefull in tough fights. Damnation is, probably, my favorite because of it's badass description, but I usually don't even pick it, since it affects only single target.

When I don't have a party to back me up (single-hero type modules or when I'm playing on PWs), than it's (Greater) Invisibility, Mirror's Image, Iron Body and Fireburst all around.

I agree with this. I also love Evard's Black Tentacles, especially when you combo it with stinking cloud or other area of affect spells.

For support: Mirror Image, Ghostly Visage, Displacement. Death Armor is a great spell that I use to overlook, but it's great for putting damage on hard-to-damage enemies.
