Great links. Thanks.

And, however, why couldn't the story be told by someone else if this is a Flemeth meeting in "year 10"? Someone in the party? Even just someone who knows Hawke? (Hawke's daughter in the future! This was when Flemeth seduced her father! She's telling her father's story? OK, probably not, but that would be really cool.)

Going from 13-23 is much more interesting story then say 20 to 30.

How do you figure?

The whole "coming of age" theme. Just speculation (maybee wild-- but just what I think from what we have heard so far.

Correct me if I'm wrong, HapGhost, but I think what was meant by the 2nd paragraph is that if this is an opening shot you (as Hawke) might actually meet Flemeth near to the end of the 10 year time span, probably just before some climactic event. Then, after meting Flemeth, maybe you "tell her your story" or something and are cast back 9-10 years. That would be cool. Like The Longest Journey. (sort of)

The Game Informer Article says that Cassandra (Member of the Chantry) interogates Varric (Dwarf) about Hawke and during his narration the point of view switches to the Player in Lothering. In the same article Flemeth was shown as a dragon, the caption below it revealed that she turns into a human and walks over to Hawke with a Darkspawn still in her hand (shown in the OP's picture).

Put these things together and you can infer that:
The scene with Flemeth occurs at a point near the destuction of Lothering.
The age of Hawke and his/her sister in the screenshots are the age in which they begin their journey.

As others have pointed out, there is enough time between the Warden leaving Lothering to its demise and the point where the Warden can kill Flemeth, that she can appear before Hawke without the need of a new body.

Did you mean to say "there is not enough time" instead of "there is enough time"?

Thank you also for mentioning more of the article than I could remember :=:wizard:

The Hoard of the Horrible picture you posted looks an awful lot like the centre pannel of the Hieronomus Boshche works depicting either insanity or Hell. There was much debate during the middle ages.

There is enough time.

If I remember correctly Lothering's destuction is triggered by the completion of the first main quest. Even if you finish the mage tower and give Morrigan the Grimoire, Lothering will be gone before you are able to kill Flemeth.

Forgive me for sounding stupid, and I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I can't figure out how you are inferring those 2 things...

What does a screenshot of Flemeth holding a darkspawn and walking to Hawke have to do with Lothering necessarily? (I can see why the timing of this being the Lothering battle is a good guess, but not assured.)

I haven't read the article. Game Informer is a US print magazine, right? I'm assuming it can't be accessed online.

EDIT; @HapGhost. Yes, I'm with you again. I'm not going to post anything else until I've done that too.

Because that's how your introduced to her, and it's already been stated that you meet her in the first minutes of the game, which is said to start as you flee Lothering

An interesting choice of artistic influences. Should make for a distinct looking game.

Edit: the magic fatality almost sounds like something out of Bayonetta.

Can't believe I'm saying this but Flemeth looks hot. And I sense an angry Morrigan from somewhere...I knew I should've taken off that damn ring before looking at the pic.

Has she changed body, well she can't have if it is before the final meeting with her in Origins and she can't shapeshift into another human because Morrigan says it is impossible for a mage to change because she already is human. Does this mean that Flemeth isn't originally human?

Did Morrigan really say it's impossible?

Didn't she just say she gains nothing from taking a different human form? Which would imply she won't do it because she simply is not interested in doing it. Flemeth may have a different opinion.

For anyone interested in knowing whats the other screenshot about, its "The triumph of Death" by Dutch painter Peter Bruegel, and it tries to portray Humanity's doom by the horrors of war. No biblical references (like in Bosch s work), just plain, dark, pessimistic and sort of atheist take on the future of mankind.

2) It also says that DA2 is 3 times longer than DAO(!!!), though I'm almost sure the journalists are mistaken on that part, probably because Bioware told them about the 10-year span of the story. That doesn't necessarily mean that the game itself will be longer.

Dragon Age: Origins took place over one year, so DA2 would be 10 times longer, not 2-3.

The way I take it, the giant hand killing an ogre is Flemeth in Dragon form. Sounds like an epic start to the game.

So this might be good news for Bethany as far as getting killed off in the first 5 minutes goes. heh. Maybe we get to keep her around as party member.

So... to what extent could Flemeth be involved with Hawke (like a party member, or just some reoccuring figure)?

I think she'll be an advisory figure like at the start of DAO
