So... to what extent could Flemeth be involved with Hawke (like a party member, or just some reoccuring figure)?

I think she'll be an advisory figure like at the start of DAO

I'm leaning that way, too, mainly because the Warden has the option to "slay" her if he wishes to. I wonder where she got those clothes, anyway...

well i dont think shell be that important. you see, we meet her in lothering first, she cant join us there because she has to wait for our warden to "kill" her. and she is incredibly powerfull, so shed be a muuuuuch to strong companion...

I really don't understand how DA2 can be 3x longer than DA:O. That's over 200hrs of gameplay.

I liked DA:O, I really did. But still the "pull you by the shirt" mechanic, of:

Go to Redcliffe, but after you have to go to the Circle Tower, but then you have to go into the Fade, then back to Redcliffe, then to Haven, then the Gauntlet, then back to Redcliffe, then back to the Fade, ad nauseum.

If DA2 has this type of story mechanic at work I might as well kiss my life goodbye and devote it to DA2. :crying:

Despite what DAO advertised, it was never a 80 game. I played on Nightmare my first time, did every sidequest, talked to every single NPC, read everything in the codex and I clocked at about 48 hours. But all the same, I expect DA2 to not be more than 70 at the very very most.

True, I think my longest playthrough was 56 hours, and I took my tme, obviously.  But still, I'm at maybe my 4th playthough and my 4th different origin character, and I honestly don't know how I can beat the game another two more times before I start to grow grey hair!

Lol, I agree. DAO is....too great of an experience for me to go through more than the 4 times that I did. I'm going to wait for rest of the DAO DLC to come out, and then give it another run. The Combat in DAO is fun, but IMO, not as engaging as combat in ME2, so I've actually done more ME2 playthroughs than DAO playthroughs.

Perhaps it was becuase the difference in classes was greater in ME2 than DAO, but I digress

Given the fact that Flemeth has white hair and horns, could this mean that she's Qunari.

Hey, it's always a possibility.

I get the feeling Flemeth is like the Machine under the island on lost. You're not really sure how it works but it pretty much controls everything.

Throne of Blood?  Will we meet Flemeth in a black and white scene set in a forrest filled with mist?  That would be awesome.

I did all the stuff you said, and my first playthrough took about 77 hours. My second playthrough took around 60.

Sounds like Bioware are really going for the bright and breezy look this time round.

Mine were mostly over 90. I guess I explore/waste time more? :P

More info:

3) Matt Goldman, the art director, lists two major inspirations for the new art style.

(a more simplified and abstract background to concentrate viewer/player's attention on the characters and important details)

Matt also made a remark that this doesn't mean the whole game will have simple environments like the desert we have seen. Everything is still very detailed, just more stylized.

So is this actually going to be "simplified and abstract" or "very detailed, just stylized"? Because that kind of makes it sound they want to have very much the opposites somehow simultaneously.

In addition, "simplified and abstract" to focus player on important details... ugh. Lack of coherence in the graphics just reminds me of the sore-thumb effect the interactive items had in DAO thanks to lack of pre-computed lighting on them. Not sure if want.

That's just the kind of PR statements all developers make. I assume they were inspired by Kurosava's movie but didn't simplify everything as much as he did.
