Has it been confirmed that the goal of the game is to become Champion of Kirkwall? I see a lot of people saying it like it was official.
Last time I read official info about the game, becoming Champion was just one of the events in Hawke's life.
Clarify, discuss, speculate.
Wait...

We don't know. We eventually become it, but think about it, isn't an honor of that sort bestowed to someone who has gone to extraordinary lengths to protect a city?
I don't think anyone can "aspire" to be a champion, it is granted after one does an extraordinary deed. Like Shepard if you take the "Colonial Savior" backstory.

My bet is that we'll already know that Hawke IS the Champion of Kirkwall.. What we'll have to determine now, is the way he became champion, through our choices in the various flashback..

I was under the impression we become the champion of kirkwall early on and then move on to uniting the Free Marches

We don't know if Hawke will unite the Free Marches. That's all fan speculation.

When the game starts, Hawke is already the Champion of Kirkwall.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too.
